Event Horizon (1997)
Give me a break...
A good example of how an interesting idea and a solid cast can be completely ruined by incompetent writers. The most frightening part of this "horror" movie was how fragmented and nonsensical the story was, and the cliche dialogues written by 10-year old children.
Westworld (2016)
Wasted opportunity
+8 for an exciting sci-fi idea with a lot of potential
+1 for Antony Hopkins
+1 for Ed Harris
-2 for the excessive and completely unnecessary violence
-1 for all the unnecessary nudity
-3 for turning the show from sci-fi to mindless action in Season 2
Total: 4 / 10
I will not bother with Season 3.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Another "Discovery"?
Really? Another pseudo sci-fi, action-based show with poorly written plots? Another "Bold and the Beautiful" in space soap-opera, full of improbable conspiracies, intrigues, black-and-white bad guys? Another show that aims at an audience with an attention span of a goldfish? Didn't we already have "Discovery" for that? I was really hoping for something better this time, but it seems TV writers nowadays suffer from some form of sudden IQ drop.
Dracula (2020)
Nope, sorry
I'm sorry but this show is just ridiculous. Dracula reminds me of a really bad comedian who tries so desperately to be funny but he is so bad at this that he is constantly embarrassing himself and makes his audience uncomfortable, with second-rate jokes. This new "funny" perspective of one of the most iconic monsters in the history of cinema simply doesn't work. Perhaps in the context of a proper comedy things could be different, but here the result is just pathetic. It might be the writing, it might be the acting, but I couldn't finish the first episode. The two stars is just for the nice visuals.

Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Not a Star Trek
Star Trek has certain defining qualities as they have been established by previous shows:
- It's about science fiction, as in how technological advances affect our everyday life.
- It's about philosophical questions and dilemmas
- It's about leadership and honour
- It's about deep, memorable characters
- It's about human relationships
- It's about exploring the unknown
- It's about principles and inspiration
- It's about collaboration and problem solving
- It's about meaningful thought-provoking stories
This show has none of these defining qualities. Call it whatever you want, but it's not Star Trek. If you like to watch it as a poor man's Battlestar Galactica or even Star Wars, give it a try -- but you're going to be disappointed nevertheless.
