Fair Play (2023)
I wish I could unseen this rubbish!
This movie should be a required subject in Film Schools called "How to take brilliant actors and make a terrible movie" (to be polite).
The movie started well and ended up like the studio run out of electricity.
What a waste of time and brain cells!
I had to get the remote and press forward several times. The story is ridiculous, boring, full of clichés and exhausting.
All people in finance are psychos?
Men can't cope with successful women and because of that become murders and rapists?
Couples can live together for two years not knowing each other?
Ohh, give me a break!
That movie is not a triller, it's just pure rubbish!
Silo (2023)
Great series if you have insomnia...
Well, it started very promising.
Now, it's boring, nothing happens and I'm seriously thinking about giving up.
They would need only half of the episodes without losing much, but since they promised an X number of episodes and they run out of ideas, the producers have to keep the story rolling as much as they can.
It's a shame, really. The actors are very good, but there isn't much one can't do without a good direction/production.
My suggestion, skip the first 9 episodes and when they finally release the 10th one, watch all of them pressing fast forward on your remote control. It's the only way!!
Invasion (2021)
Boring...
Utterly boring.
Three episodes and still no action.
Personally I hate those sci-fi movies that focus on human personal egoistic problems instead of focusing on the invasion itself.
It's just another TV drama using the sci-fi genre as disguise.
Mr. Robot (2015)
Removing the veil...
That's the kind of movie that makes you think. It's dark, smart and the dialogues are beautifully written. I can't believe that all the words written there are actually allowed by the system that controls society. Yes, it states clearly how things are, how we are controlled by the corporations and its governments. I decided to write this review to ask the directors, producers and writers why they decided to write one single scene in the whole series that's completely stupid! Burning US dollars as some sort of protest? People, don't you know that money is actually just a check? And what happens if you burn a check? You are actually giving the value of that check back to the account owner!! If you burn a 100 dollars bill, you are giving that amount back to the government! I remember a scene from Batman where the joker as a form of rebellion burns millions of dollars! Well, that's Batman and Batman is not a movie that's supposed to be smart! But Mr. Robot is very smart! How could they made the same silly mistake? You want to protest? Throw those dollars back into the market and help to create inflation! Anyway, apart from that stupid scene, the rest of the entire series is extremely elegant and smart! I hope they don't change a bit the philosophy of the show!
Poldark (2015)
Victorian romance written by a man!
I heard many people saying that Victorian novels like "Pride and Prejudice" or "Sense and Sensibility" are lovely and romantic. I don't agree. It's all about money and, for a change, a rich guy dating a less rich girl, both of course, from society. It's all about love letters, kisses under trees and everyone that who really works is invisible and disposable. "Poldark" shows a guy in love who lost almost everything. When he's about to run away, he realises that people depend on him to have food on their tables. He, then, rolls up his sleeves, go to work - ACTUAL manual work - and makes the difference. Of course, there are bankruptcy issues, death in the family and real love with a hardworking girl who couldn't even properly speak but had a huge heart. I can't wait for the next season. Right now, I'm on internet looking for his books.
The Messengers (2015)
Couldn't finish the second episode...
The devil himself hits the planet as a meteor? At the same time God chooses 6 strangers to become angels and fight The Devil? With wings? The Devil knows exactly what's his own mission, while the angels have to figure out what to do through some clues, visions, etc? Then a guy dies because a bloody atheist scientist (one of the angles) doesn't believe in all that "magic"? I can pretty much watch anything! Really! But couldn't watch 20 minutes of that awful show. Maybe they can capture the audience attention with pretty actresses and actors, but it didn't work for me. Don't waste your time on that attempt to a Bible modern fairy tale!!
