After graduation from high school, Mikhail was employed by the same school he studied at to organize the drama department, which led him, and his students to direct dance show performance based on the aspects of Turkmen culture to perform in St. Petersburg at an annual USSR all-school show competition.
Mikhail's love of literature and history led him to believe acting is the place where all his dreams as a performer/actor can be realized. Mikhail considers his acting a unique place where he can not only be a part of every day dramatic situation we face on daily basis, he could also implement his own personality into any character he plays.
In 1995 he came to the United States on a business visa. Having lived his life in communist USSR, the American culture was very appealing. Believing he could apply for political asylum, Mikhail ended up spending 6 months in a Federal detention center in Houston, Texas with the threat of deportation (August 2002). Released in February of 2003, his status in the United States remains in legal limbo.
Continues to work and reside in Houston, Texas. Hopes to become a permanent resident by the end of 2006.

Bodhisattva (2010)
Very appealing
I had the chance to see the film before it was released to the film festivals in the United States and my first impression was that film had some sort of appeal to attract audience in this twisted story line. I was able to get to the clue of what lies beneath the story only at the end of the film. The film is about destiny and what we do to achieve this destiny, to what type of extend we can go to gain what we desire. Everybody should agree that our life has some story in it whether we believe in destiny or not or whether my story or your story of life defines some fate. Destiny and things that happens in our life makes the story of every individual life's the unique journey as what exactly happened to one of the main character of the film played by Trisha Ray. She was determined not to defeat but to fight to the end in order to achieve her goals. And drown by the fact of "mine or nobody else's" she built her causes to gain the love of the person who was already in relationship and married. Nothing could stop her from gaining access to people's personal life, no obstacles could ruin her plan, she is manipulative, she is self determined in getting to the end until she gets to her final destination. Her destiny is her strength inside, her power, her obsession. She has no fears whatsoever to get something done even if it involves dangerous measures. She was destined to kill if something does not go her own way.
This is the great film to watch. I recommend it to everybody. This is foreign film with English subtitles and if you start watching it you would not quit as you will be eager to find out the gran finale of it. Congratulations to everyone who was involved in this film.
Salt (2010)
Angelina is great but the film story sucks
"Salt" was great to watch but the story of Russian spies have not change a lot from what Hollywood tried to portrait from their previous films during the Cold War and after the Cold War. The same thing that never changes at all. The only part that drew me as an audience was action which was greatly performed. Liev and Angelina speaking Russian with weired accent was huge minus to Hollywood Production and director of the film. Being a Russian spy you should speak Russian without any accent as that's how KGB and Russia trains their spy by assigning them for job overseas, they should speak language of the country fluently with dialects so no one should notice of them being foreigners. Angelina and Liev should have trained well to speak and pronounce Russian as their native language.
The best part was to watch actions sequences by Angelina and that's all but the synopses of the film have not changed from previous spy movies produced by Hollywood. People are getting bored to watch the same story over and over again. Also, some actors who were involved in the film portraying Russian spies speak in Russian with such tone of the language that no one in Russia even speak that way.
Without Angelina the movie sucks, Angelina just added some well done actions that adds plus to the "Salt", other then that......sorry Hollywood. Hollywood should give chance to other actors to play different parts in film portraying foreigners or Americans. But they always limit this chance to good actors. If Angelina was able to play Russian spy with bad Russian accent I do not understand why foreigner should not play American with his/her accent? But Hollywood always want to have American born actor to play American but not a foreigner. Hollywood always forget that there is no American nationality, or so called American culture, it is a mixture of foreign influence who crated America as the country, country of immigrants.
SALT made $19.5M in box office and the production paid Angelina J. $20M for this movie. Next time Hollywood wants to make movie about Russian spies, please, get down to business and learn true facts about Russian Spy Network in US before writing your script. Tom Cruise was smart enough to turn down Edwin Salt part as it would look ridiculous on him but Angie did it because of actions, she did not care about the story of the film, she wanted some actions and majority of stunts she did in SALT were not performed on her own, she had double who did everything for her. So, do not go around the world and tell people "I did all my stunts on my own". Bravo Hollywood, amazing, spectacular to watch you throwing so much money away by making this film when independent filmmakers could have done better job and they always do.
The Queen (2006)
Great depiction of the last day of Diana and response from HM
The only thing I would love to add that this film is the best production of this year and truly deserve the Oscar. I have the big portrait of Princess Diana at my apartment. The story of this portrait goes back to 1997 the day Princess Diana left this world. Week after her death I had a dream talking to Princess Diana, sitting somewhere on the bench. I remember the question I asked her was who was behind the separation between her and Prince Charles, and why there were so many negative reaction towards this whole ordeal. The reply I got from Princess Diana was if I would have chance to visit England, I should visit town Stafford-upon-Avon where I might find the answers to my questions. But the only thing I was able to get from her was that The Queen was much involved in her relationship with Charles that pushed the whole marriage to destruction. That day I woke not knowing what that dream meant to me. The only thing I knew that the town she mentioned in my dream was the place of birth of famous writer William Shakespeare. That day I was walking by and I saw the portrait of Princess Diana in some small store which I bought. And since than I keep this portrait as a reminder to my dream.
My best congratulations to the director and all people who were involved in making this film possible. Two thumbs up.
Cheers.
The Bong Connection (2006)
Great film
This is was my first feature film where I portrayed Alex as Salma's husband.
It was the greatest experience I ever had working on the set of "Bong Connection".
It helped me a lot to understand the procedure of film-making and to gain more experience from other actors involved.
I would like to thank Peeya and Samrat for giving me the chance to spend some time with them during their time in Houston.
My special thanks to Anjan Dutt, the director and Joy, the producer for giving me the opportunity to be in their film. Thanks for casting me.
