Bushwick (2017)
Precursor to 2021 Insurrection
When this film was written it was pure fiction.
When this film debuted (2017) it was still fiction but plausible.
Then the Insurrection happened in 2021.
Now in 2022, with Trial efforts still going after Trump and The Proud Boyz, this film is on the cusp of reality.

Movie 43 (2013)
Yes I'm 40 and I thought it was funny
There were only a few segments that I could've lived without but more than 80% of the movie was funny to me. Speed-dating, Home schooled, both blind-date segments, and the cartoon cat during the credits, just to name a few. Even the basketball short had it's moments. I don't know why it has such a poor review? I didn't watch it at the movies nor did I see a trailer for it, I merely saw it on DVD and thought it was entertaining. I could see where a trailer could be misleading or this movie could've been marketed to the wrong crowd and they paid to see it at the theater and that's why they're upset but other than that, I found it rather amusing.
Stake Land (2010)
Fresh take on the Vampire genre
I'd say the rate of a 6.6 is accurate. It's not Oscar worthy but I did enjoy this movie. It's a fresh take on the vampire genre. I thought the acting was good, cinematography was good, special effects were decent, clothing and accessories were good. The only thing that could've made the movie better would probably be a little more money to add to the production value. And possibly more detail added to creating a better villain to truly show the lead characters voyage into manhood.
Other than that, it's a good movie. A good sleeper type cult movie, that I'd definitely recommend to vampire movie lovers.
Hopefully, someone will pick it up and redo it with a bigger budget.
Ninja Assassin (2009)
Great Movie!
Being a huge Ninja and Martial Arts fan my review is kinda biased. It was great seeing Sho Kosugi back on the big screen. The lead actor and leading actress were good too although there really wasn't a whole lot of dialog for them to get into. It is an action movie after-all. The fight scenes were very well choreographed and the cinematography was excellent.
Now, for the not so good parts. My only gripes were that the build-up between one of his peers didn't have enough "umph" too it. Also, the showdown with his master at the end had a good "feel" to it but I feel it lost it's mark at some point towards the end of the battle. Those of you who have seen it might know what I'm talking about. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
It would've been nice if they would've taken a "Bourne Identity" style to it. Meaning, not that he wouldn't have any memory of anything or amnesia but that they should've made it seem "more" like he was out on the run from the Ninja Clan and that he had learned "more" from his travels of being out on the run learning life's lessons or something. Guess the lead actor didn't have the acting range that Matt Damon has.
Anyway, it was a great movie and I'm sure I'll spend some more money at the theater watching it again. Can't wait for the blu-ray to come out. It's a must buy for any high definition theater set up and action buff.
Blood: The Last Vampire (2009)
This movie NEEDS a do-over
This is one movie that needs a do-over. I say this as a fan of the original anime. The leading actress was good, her teacher (Kato) was good, actually, the cast were fine, it was the script that's bad and the CGI was awful. This movie needs some money thrown at it with a better writer. I believe the director had his hands tied 'cause there wasn't enough money for what he wanted to do. I've seen directors make a wonderful movie out of nothing but then, at least the script was sound. Here, the director had no chance 'cause the script sucked and he had no money (haha!) I blame the producer for this. It's their job to bring in good talent. Talented writers, directors, actors, and money.
I hope someone with balls picks this film up and does a sequel that does the original title justice.
