Balthazar (2018)
From France and Fabulous!
Despite a few clandestine coincidental relationship scenes that I feel only detracted from a fabulous show this is one to watch! Main players are excellent and ghost cameos are not used as a tool for foolishness. Well written and acted this is an excellent police and medical examiner procedural.
Jack Irish: Bad Debts (2012)
A Real Gem!
Well paced, great core of good guys and a vast array of bad guys. Not a Guy Pearce fan previously but I am now. I really enjoyed the story andcespecially his partner in solving the crime Linda! Good suspense and the crew at the pub make the picture truly a gem.
My Life Is Murder (2019)
Xena goes Private Eye
Really solid and fun character development . These people are likable and at least to this American true Aussies! Of course PI and consulting shows are always a stretch with the reality of police use of them but buying into the premise makes the show go. Lawless is charismatic in her role as are her team. Some new and some old plot devices make an interesting mix. Bringing casual femininity to the role makes the production even stronger. She is who she is and subtle references to her past bring us into wanting to no more. I like her, the cases, her team, the cinematography and especially her relationship with someone's cat!
A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)
Poorly Acted, Poorly Written, Not Very Funny
I want to start by saying that I am easily entertained and usually am a Seth Macfarland fan but he can not act! This was one of the worst movies I have seen in years. I kept thinking you are no Mel Brooks and you are no Gene Wilder. My wife and I went with another couple and we saw the film for free and it still was horrible. it seemed like they took a little "Family Guy" humor, their take on "Blazing Saddles", and threw in parts of Sarah Silverman's act and mix them all up with modern references and some off color humor and you have the film I saw tonight. it was a waste of time and left me stunned in disappointment! I thought Charlize Theron and Liam Neeson were fine with a lousy script and a cameo by an actor from a classic comedy was excellent but not much else worked for me. Neil Patrick Harris and Amanda Siegfried were surprisingly horrid. I so wish it had been better!
