Hansel and Gretel (1954)
Timeless!
I first watched this film as a child in the 80's. I loved it and a few weeks ago heard something that reminded me of this story. I rented it from NetFlix and watched it last night.
Although they film quality is poor, it was a great film for it's time and this movie still entertains me today. My daughter also watched this film and I saw the same emotions in her that I remember feeling as I watched it as a child. Fear of the wicked witch, the amazement in her eyes when she saw the witch's house and the giggles at the little bear and goose. It just took me back to a time long ago when those little things made me happy and I'm glad I was able to find this film to share it with her.
The story is timeless, the film is excellent and I just love it! Great for all ages!
The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982)
100% Awesome!
Anthony Andrews and Jane Seymoure have such chemistry during this movie! It's my #1 favorite movie of all time! I could watch it all day w/o getting sick of it! The way the characters interact and lives intertwine - it's just fabulous! The first time I saw this movie was in 10th grade History and I begged my teacher to let me take it home and make a copy! I have had it ever since and I watch it at least twice a month. My husband doesn't understand why I love it, but I suppose I am just a hopeless romantic always looking for a good hero!!!
The Scarlet Pimpernel is full of action, comedy, irony - it's just an overall perfect film!
For Keeps? (1988)
One of my ALL TIME Favorites!
How can anyone not love this movie? It's by far one of the best movies of it's kind of (teen-pregnancy related). Molly does a fabulous job in the birth scene. Very realistic! I have watched it at least 100 times and it never gets old for me! I will say that it is not 100% realistic, but what movie is? It's Hollywood's way of spicing things up. It still has a lot of real situations and scenarios. The one side opposing adoption, the other apposing abortion - all over one baby! Then both sets of grandparents (save from Stan's mother) are against them keeping the baby. One real scenario being that MOST parents always try to control their child's future... in this case the kids made their own decisions and showed maturity in taking full responsibility for their actions. Yes they need a little help along the way, but so do a lot of older parents.
From a teen mom's perspective: it's all in all a wonderful movie with a lot of emotion and comedy in there as well. It's on my top five favorite movies list!
