Everything I Expected, What More Could I ask For?
20 June 2023
This movie was hardly advertised but I feel that if it was and more people give it a chance then I think most everyone will like it. If you are a fan of Animated Movies then you'll likely enjoy this one.

For me, I had a lot of fun. It was really fun, the characters were not only funny but relatable. It's pretty easy for me to get annoyed with characters in anything really. So they have to have reasons for their actions, why they are acting the way they are, which this movie does well. Elemental gives the characters realistic reasons as to why they act the way they do. At least for Ember.

Ember feels like a character I would hate if she wasn't written well, but they did amazing with her story. And the same thing with Wade. Though he is a cry baby, he is a character willing to stand up for what he believes in without fear. Both Ember and Wade balance each other out, which of course was the main focus.

Yes, this is a story that has been told plenty of times. But that doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable. I hope more people give this movie a chance.

They Said The Lines!
12 June 2023
This movie was so amazing! And so much fun! As someone that isn't a transformers fan, I really loved this movie. First of all, took place in the 90s so it was really nostalgia filled for someone my age. The story (from an outsiders perspective) made a lot of sense and the way the connect all the characters with one another through a common goal was really well done. They had the lines! They said the iconic lines and it didn't feel out of place! We love that! Though I don't have a lot of knowledge with the franchise I can say that it feels like a solid movie to start from. And the ending just has me so excited for what they'll do next!

Acting, amazing and on point. Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback were am amazing duo! And they nailed a lot of the funny moments too. If you're interested in this movie I'd say give it a shot.

Better then the Orginal
28 May 2023
It's amazing how this movie stayed so faithful to the original movie while referencing the original writing but adding so much more character and story. I can say with my full chest that I love this movie for what it turned the little mermaid into. The music is top notch, voice acting top tear and Prince Eric has a real personality and story himself.

There was a whole story outside of the main characters which, I feel, gives everything a bigger weight to it. Instead of it just being about a two people falling in love, it is also about two worlds endangering each other but also still needing one another. It's a beautiful movie that has many massages within it while still giving us everything amazing that the original movie was.

One of my Favorite Films Even Today
6 October 2021
When you watch his movie it really feels like you're going back in time and really experiencing a possible witch haunting the woods. Most of the movie you aren't really sure what's going on and who's telling the truth. And all the characters are very unreliable narrators making you question so much more. However, the farther you get into the movie the more clear things become. I love this movie so much. The best part of it is the acting, it's so on point and the cast was perfect in all their roles. My only issue comes at the end when almost everything is revealed. If anything they should have left that part out. But the fact that most of it isn't explained the entire movie and even by the end there are some mysteries, makes it a perfect suspenseful psychological horror movie.

I Watched It For the Gore, Just Like the Original
6 October 2021
I don't really have much to say about the movie besides I greatly enjoyed the gore and I found it to be just as good as the original. Both had amazing body horror, both had an amazing cast and acting, and they both hold a special place. And it really feels like a faithful remake to the original. If you like the OG then give this one a watch. Not sure if this is one I'd watch over and over again. But none the less, I enjoy it.

Slow Burn Ghost Story That Takes a Realistic Approach
4 October 2021
I've watched this movie a number of times and I still enjoy just watching this movie or having it on in the background. I will say this movie isn't for everyone and it takes it's sweet time. But if you're a patient person with some extra time and you enjoy ghost story movies then I'd suggest giving it a shot.

Jack Black Was In this Movie
4 October 2021
That's it. That's the review.

And I love Jack Black too much to not give this movie 10 stars. But I'm not going to lie, having Fred in this movie was nice since he'd really attractive.

The acting wasn't the best when it compared to even the first movie but it was still entertaining to watch. These movies aren't good horror movies but they're entertaining old horror movies that you can just put on and chill to at work or something. I can see myself re watching these in the future.

Old and Bad but So Much Fun
3 October 2021
This movie is very old and you can really feel it's age but I think that is part of it's charm. It's not a very good movie, nothing really scary or even creep about it. However, it is quiet entertaining. I'd say if you like old movies that you don't really have to take seriously and I could see myself re watching it in the future just for fun.

This Movie Has Me Messed Up
2 October 2021
I'm very half and half on this movie. First off, it is not something I'd go out of my way to watch again. However, if you're a fan of slow horror then yea give it a shot.

My issues with the movie is there isn't really much to it besides the typical everyone wants to be or be with the pretty girl. Thinking back on it now after seeing it, it felt kind of boring. Even more so considering the big twist isn't until the very end. While the movie was over all very beautiful and the main actress is down right gorgeous, there aren't too many moments in this movie that creeped me out. And a lot that did was just real life horrific things that are real and do happy every day. Uncomfortable? Yea. Scary? No.

Also, the end credits music did NOT fit the mood of the ending but it was a bombing song.

Crazy and NOT the Good Kind
6 November 2020
There are movies that if you explain too much then it ruins the movie (Example: 2019's US) and then there are movies that if you don't explain much of anything then it works in it's favor (Example: 2016's The Wailing). Braid is one of those movies where nothing is explained at all, you don't even have a clue of what's going on, and it's still just bad. Nothing made much sense and I didn't really have much connection to the characters. I'm sure this was a movie that had a really good concept (at some point, maybe on paper) but was executed really poorly. The one good thing I'd say about this movie are the actresses, they just played very unlikeable characters but they did that very well.

Didn't Expect What I Got
29 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this movie, more then I expected I would. However, It really does feel like one of those movies I'll watch once then be done with it. What I expect: Zombie/Desert shenanigans, What I Got: Heart warming female empowerment movie. Not to say there wasn't zombie/desert tomfoolery, but there was much more to the story itself then I had expect or prepared for honestly.

SPOILERS:

One thing I did not expect, a rape scene and that really made me uncomfortable. However, I thought the first half of the movie was really good at least but once we get to the second half the movie really lost me. Like, she just accepts a zombie saves her and wants to protect the zombie but in the processes she gets bitten? Who could have seen that coming?

So yea, I'd say if your a zombie fan, give it a watch at least once.

A Fun Halloween Feel
26 October 2020
I greatly enjoyed this movie and originally found out about it through Clancy Brown's twitter (who I love) and anything horror movie that's a anthology I'm willing to give a try. What I expect was what I got and honestly, it was good. A few things I didn't expect but overall it was an entertaining Halloween vibe kind movie for adults. It really gave me the feeling of A House with a Clock in it's Walls for some reason, maybe because it was so bold with it's setting, but I liked that. I think this will be a movie I'll come back to watch every spooky season.

Emotional, Good, Wish it wasn't a Horror Movie
25 October 2020
99% of the time movies get romance terribly wrong, including romance movies. But I often find myself watching Horror movies that do romance so well and it makes me mad because you know they're likely going to die. So it's all wasted (not really, it makes you care even more for the characters so it hurts more when they die). That is how I felt with this movie. I love period films and this one is on my list of favorites now. And this period film really felt like a romance of it's period and I loved it and then the horror came it. Which was also amazing. It was creepy without having to constantly jumps care you (it had a one or two but that's fine). It is a slow burn movie, but it's also about two hours long, so I'm not sure if you could call it a slow burn. In any case, if you like period films with unsettling ghost (that look like how people in the Edwardian era would think of ghost) and a bit romance drama then you'll love this film. However, it can be a bit gory at certain parts.

Why Such Good Romance?
19 October 2020
Why is it that there are so many horror movies with cute couples in it? STOP. I'd have to say this is one of my favorite movies. Not that it's ground breaking or anything but it's just a simple concept that's exacted nicely. The acting leaves a bit to be desired but I think the main actress fits the role perfectly. I think what keeps me coming back to watch this movie is that it's a good ghost story with a interesting, unseen twist. I think it's good at it is and if you don't expect more from it then you'll enjoy it.

Tired too Hard to be Like Saw
18 October 2020
It's rare when the token black teen lives but why did it have to be in such a cheese terrible movie? While I don't think the concept is bad, the writing of the actual movie was really bad. And the acting could have been better too. They had so many vague ideas of where it all could have lead up to yet didn't really go anywhere. And when it ended it felt like the movie had just started to pick up? It felt like the movie ended right in the middle. They took too long setting up these characters and didn't really do anything with them. Overall, if this movie was remade or they made a squeal to it now I think it would be done better.

Just as Good as I Remembered
16 October 2020
I watched this movie for the first time when I was a child and re watching it as an adult I still enjoy it just as much. My favorite part of this movie is that it doesn't romanticize vampires like most horror movies often do. They aren't these beautiful, model like creatures that can kill without getting a drop of blood on them. They are messy, violent but not invincible. They don't just feel like vampires but also feel close to zombies as well. I'd suggest this to anyone interested in isolation/somewhat gore horror.

Odd but Fun
16 October 2020
This was a very enjoyable movie and I could see myself watching it again. While the kids were stupid, they were understandably dumb. They felt like normal kids. Cheesy movie but a number of the scares really got me and I thought a few of them were creative. However, I did find the end of the story to be a bit confusing but it wasn't too bad.

Good story
8 October 2020
So far, watching Asian horror, I've noticed that they can really make me care so much about the characters or the families. As a idiotic westerner, I'm used to "watered" down horror movies with cheap jump scares characters that mean nothing to the overall story. However, that is often not the case with old Asian horror films. Another slow burn horror that doesn't really focus on the ghost or the spooky things going on but puts the family up front. Showing you a mother and daughter that just want to live together while showing you parallels to the story of the missing girl's. The scary parts are when the mother loses her daughter and you never know who or what took her at that time (happens often). You can look at this movie in a number of ways and read tons of reviews on it but you won't get the same impact. If your just getting into Asian horror I recommend it to see what a good horror story feels like. No reason to say more then that.

Slow but Terrifying
7 October 2020
I will admit, this movie is a slow/burn kind of movie with little to know scares in it. And honestly, that's unheard of these days. How can it be a horror movie with no scares? Story is often enough to scare many and that's what Ringu does amazingly. Instead of making characters your designed to hate or having the focus on the spirit, they have a broken family that you can't help but want the best in the end. They give you a scary story that's spreading around their area, show someone the main character knows dies due to it and then put those people you care about in danger. I will admit, there are a few things I find silly like, don't leave the cursed tape just laying around where anyone can see it! But that's just a small issue I had, overall I enjoyed the movie. I will recommend it to people that are interested in something more tamed that are getting into Japanese Horror movies before something like Ju-on.

Rewatched Because I Want to be Plowed by Moder
6 October 2020
I've seen this movie twice now and I still enjoy it for a number of reasons, but mostly because I am a monster lover and Loki has had a number of very attractive monster (as Moder is called). Only issue is they didn't show more of him but I respect that. I think the story is fairly solid with pretty interesting characters. What I find most interesting about the characters is that it feels like they took your traditional ideal of a protagonist and split them into four men. But on top of that we see everything through the eyes of one of the more stable members of the group, which is also surprising. Normally we get everything filtered through to us from the eyes of an unreliable protagonist (like Phil). However, out of all of them Luke feels the most down to earth since he sees the world for what it is due to his experience. This is a good monster movie if your in it for that. But if your just getting into horror movies this one is pretty tame with the gore and monster so I'd suggest it for new comers to horror. A good film that kept me interested, even without showing the monster 90% of the movie. This is what It Comes At Night could have been if they had good writers.

Entertaining in the Traditional Horror Way
6 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I don't think that this movie is good or bad. It's fine. What I mean in the "traditional horror way" is that I wanted all the friends to die in this movie because I hated them and they did and I was satisfied. However, it's a fairly forgettable movie, this is my second time watching this movie and I had to watch it again just to remember everything about it (besides that her friends were out right garbage). So, I would suggest this to other people that just want an entertaining, slow burn horror movie.

The Only Good Thing About This Movie is James Ransone
4 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie wasn't the worst that I've seen but I think it was mostly because there was so much of James Ransone and Shannyn Sossamon in it (I love them). The story starting off was done well, and the abusive husband trope was done tastefully surprisingly (in the sense, there was a reason for him to be there to move the story forward. Abuse is never tasteful no matter what.) I thought the movie was decent and I was interested more in the characters then the horror itself, so I originally planned to give it only five stars. Then the universe breaks it's own rules by having bughuul kill the child Zach and then, presumably, the deputy (James Ransone's character). That was when I just fully lost it. Like the first sinister movie, it's a fun watch for the first time but I don't think I'd ever be interested in watching it again. Well, maybe just for Hames Ransone but that's it.

A Subtle Slow Burn Horror
4 October 2020
Like other horror movies this one has symbolism in it, which isn't a bad thing if you are willing to accept that. If your going into the movie to expect jump scares and what not, that isn't the main point of this movie. The main focus is a family that is still suffering from the loss of their little boy. Specifically the mother, who can't move on with her life, constantly looking for her son and one simple thing ends up easily setting her off a number of times. It's a movie about dealing with grief and what can come from it when going unchecked. Personally, I enjoyed the movie for what it was. Though it was no top tier movie, I found my self caring for the family and hurt with then ending. I think it's at least worth a watch if your interested in getting into more Korean horror films.

Better Then The First One
22 August 2020
While I don't think this is the best film of all time, I do think it is way better then the first one. I think that the best part of this movie is the acting. The main actress was hands down the best part and I enjoyed even the parts in between the scares.

A Fun Watch
22 August 2020
It was worth a watch. Really got into the reality of social media, and how it can lead to people developing mental issues due to obsessing over their presence. Or how people do stupid pranks constantly so no one never really knows what to believe. If you are on social media, which most people are, give this movie a watch at least once.
