Max Payne: Hero (2003)
Max Payne, a great game. Max Payne Hero, a bad bad movie.
I have played many games in my life, but none of them ever made me feel the way Max Payne did. It had a life, an emotion that most games fail to show. This Game was mean't to be made into a movie, just not this movie.
Hero fell short in almost every way. The shoot out was confusing, the audience never understood where people where so we never believe it. Cardboard doesn't block bullets. Why does Max dive into the open? Why does everyone stink at shooting? There are too many times that Max is in the open and being shot at. I could have hit him, I don't shoot Guns very often. Why is Max a kid? He looks to be like 18 or 19. For all directors out there, remember that slow motion is a trick to be use rarely. If you over do it, it loses it's cool factor. I am sad to see that someone had all the things you need to make a cool action scene and have him throw it away on something so amateur. I am happy in a way, there is still an opening for a good film maker to make a wonderful Max Payne film.
Ultraviolet (2006)
Director=Shmuck....Film=Crud
AHHHH!!!! This movie is complete crud. Imagine taking a baby and a pop can and smashing them together. What you would get is this movie. I mean I like equilibrium but now I realize that the only reason I liked it is because of the actors. This movie had bad acting and worse directing. Why do people wear armor made of glass? Oh so Milla can kick them and the director likes glass breaking. The action sequences looked like they where made by some dorky kid who like equilibrium. I know that wire work is over used but come on Kurt Wimmer(director)some times it works. Don't sacrifice better work just because you have a problem with the Matrix. I am sad for Milla, I think she is better than this. Ahh, this movie was bad.
V for Vendetta (2005)
Silly and Hypocritical
First things first. This movie uses a radical, prejudice and hateful government as the enemy and that is fine. But making it out to be a symbol for the UK and US is silly and the film makers did this.
OK, this movie was based on a Graphic Novel that is strongly pro-Anarchy. The movie, however, was just an anti American/Britan politics movie. It attacked the Conservative party only. The movie has a line that goes something like "Art uses lies to tell the truth while politician use lies to hide the truth. This movie was just as much politics as art and the film makers politicians as they where artist. So are they the liars to hide the truth or to tell the truth. I'd have to say they're lying to hide the truth. The truth being that this movie was just a childish exaggeration of the right. True art isn't Political. You can attack individual views but when you attack an entire Political party it's just politics, and it looses it's beauty as art.
I saw this bumper sticker once that read "Doing my part to pis* off the religious right." I think the Wachowski brothers read this sticker and decided to make this movie. That is how simple minded this film was.
Although this movie is a steaming pile of hypocrisy that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. It had good action and some good dialog. Natalie Portman can't act. Why do people keep giving her jobs. I loved Hugo Weaving as V his voice acting and body movements made me forget about the mask.
I am disappointed in the adaptation from the book to screen. This movie took an Idea and made it a cheap attack on the right. The book is about anarchy people. What the heck.
If you hate the right than this movie is made for you. You can sit there and agree with everything they say, even if it's wrong, and remain unenlightened to the truth.
World's Finest (2004)
Crud.
Sandy should stop making "Movies". He doesn't know what he is doing. Dead End belongs on the Internet along side starwars kid and video's of people getting there hands cut off. He claims to know what feel Batman needs but he doesn't know how to make the audience feel it. Dead end felt so forced and silly. When I was a kid, 9 or 10, I used to put on shows for my family. They were batman stunt shows. Dead End felt as childish and silly and my old shows were only with more money. Sandy has got to be a moron, he took 30 thousand dollars and made a fan film? A good film maker such as Robert Rodriguez can take 7 thousand and make a full length movie of his own, than after he got into the industry he started making his Comic book movies. Sandy doesn't have a chance in hell, from what I've seen, to make it as a director. Worlds finest is one of the saddest things I've seen. It's so easy to make a trailer look exiting and make you want to see the movie, this trailer didn't. It was boring, silly and pretty much crud. I hope he doesn't continue making "movies" we really don't need another Uwe Boll running around.
