Timestalkers (1987)
Great show had hoped it was pilot for series
My wife and I both loved this TV episode, acting, plot, and action. A key plot concept was that one could not normally alter the future by changing the past and the finding of the antique photograph of a modern pistol supports the idea that if time travel to the past has occurred the effects are already part of our history. At the end of show when the time travel device was run over by the wagon wheel, it appeared that it was undamaged and we assumed it was to be found by Devane at some later time to lead into a TV series. We waited for a sequel, but it never appeared. Every time we see Devane in a film or TV show, we are reminded of "Time Stalkers". This show should be revived as a TV series.
Flyboys (2006)
Saw Flyboys today
I have seen many films in my day, this is beyond a doubt one of the finest movies ever made. It beats Memphis Belle by a mile. It has a story, great acting, great adventure and great scenes. The best of all you can expect in a great film. My non action great was The Sting, my sci fi was The Day the Earth Stood Still, my people was Casablanca, and now I have the Flyboys over and above Wings. A great welcome to great films. James Franco played a great part, exhibiting concern for not only his friends but the French individuals who were displaced by the war, especially the children. Jean Reno played as great a part as he did in Pink Panther and in the DaVinciCode. The fact that some or most of the film was based on fact makes the impact of those who survived and those who didn't present a realistic view of the reality of war.
