I *LOVED* this show!!! Really hope there will be a season 2 & more!!
11 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'll be honest, I'm not usually a fan of the majority of English series (other than the historic/book-based ones) but I really enjoyed this. Perhaps because I've not seen (nor heard of) the original, but the characters had me hooked from the word go. Such a shame we lost. Jim Broadbent right at the beginning, but Tim McInnerny as the washed out Simon Gould was absolutely brilliant & so believable in his part.... as was Maggie Steed as Stella Hart as well.

The cast had alot of stars that you had to pause and check the IMDB on Amazon Prime video to see why you knew their faces lol (or is it just me that does that?!?).. A couple out of Discovery of Witches, Siren, Pirates of the Caribbean oh and even more novel was several stars appearing as themselves throughout, Helen Bonham-Carter, David Harewood, Clemence Poesy (forgive the UK spelling, no French keyboard!), Emma Corrin, Himesh Patel to name a few! Even Lorraine Kelly got a quick cameo.

Throughout you have alot of complex relationships, I don't want to giveaway too much, from family to office to clients etc. It really was a great series 1, was just gutted that it ended so soon 😳 Of course the real star of the show has to be the cheeky chappy Mathias (aka Smurf)!!!!

Come on Amazon, give us more!

Enjoyable watch

Contrary to the reviews I'd seen, I quite enjoyed this!! Reminded me of a cross between Real Steel & a Transformer movie (but not quite as A list)... Not bad at all...

An OK afternoon watch
10 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Been watching a ton of these types of Hallmark-ish movies on Movies24 (in the UK)

Trevor Donovan is always a huge plus in any of these sloppy romances (yum 😋 😇 but his parts never seem too demanding and are often identical) & whilst the story wasn't terrible,SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was left wondering did Sarah, the Amish girl, give up the Inn?? Was she forced to marry their miserable Bishop (or whatever his job title was) 's son etc etc???? It seemed as if they all wanted an early finish that day so just cut the end off without tying up the loose ends. That said, if you want to watch something not too demanding for an hour or so, then this was ok. Oh and where was that cave they went to?!? 😲 It was awesome!!

Utter load of crap
24 January 2020
Meghan Markle plays a female version of a total player, and if this is any indication of her acting skills I can see why she married a Prince! Possibly the worst film I've ever watched! Don't waste your time!! (and I agree with the review that said it was older than 2013,so not sure if they dragged out an old script??)

Quite the disappointment
18 January 2020
Considering how many stars were listed it was surprisingly rubbish. The cringiest part had to be Mickey Rourke hitting on a girl he met in the bar.

10/10 for a sappy chick flit
12 January 2020
Obviously not in the same 10/10 field as a blockbuster, but a truly original storyline and great acting from the small cast. Really enjoyed this. Not going to giveaway the plot, but if you like sappy love stories with a side of mystique then you'll like this 👍

Loved this series! (yes I KNOOOOW it's not historically accurate!)
8 January 2020
As long as you watch it for entertainment purposes and not to give you history lessons, you'll be ok! Lots of 'raunch n debauch' , great sets and costumes, intrigue galore + lots of hunky men in it... What's not to like?! 😉

A 10/10 down to a 3/10 on final episode!
26 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely loved this series, and imo it had great potential. So why ITV butchered this beautiful series and killed it off so fantastically is beyond me! Thankfully they've decided not to make a second series, a great decision after they irreparably ruined the storyline! Whoever wrote the final episode is literally dead to me lol. Clearly they have never read a Jane Austen book and have zero understanding of the era. For a start when do Elizabeth Bennett & Mr D'Arcy (of Pride and Prejudice fame) ever go off unchaperoned for smooching?! and once a man gave any indication he would be marrying a girl in those times it was a done deal. There was no running off and making other offers elsewhere to save your ridiculous brother from debtor's prison (seriously Tom Parker is treated throughout as if he has special needs!) Such a total epic fail and how the writers managed to fail so spectacularly is utterly beyond me! 3/10 is me being kind

I'm really enjoying this series.. But.....
26 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I've read thru some of these reviews in hysterics! Wow some of you really do take these reviews rather seriously aye?!? Others seem to think they're professional reviewers (&perhaps they are being paid, I've no idea!), however I have to wonder if the bad reviewers have even watched it.....

Henry Cavill is brilliant in this part, whilst being nothing like Superman and tbh (apart from every review here reminding me that is lol) I totally forgot it was him playing him he was THAT good!!! 👏 👍 So the only thing I'm finding a tad confusing is the time period swapping... and I'm not sure if I missed some "30 years ago" captions or whatever, but - and SPOILER ALERT!!!! - one minute we're seeing the horrible lot raiding the castle and killing everyone, the grandmother Queen has been stabbed and throwing herself out the window and yet now we're in a prequel period following what I've just sussed out is Siri's mother and father's betrothal (&we know they die as it says so at the beginning!!)

Tbh it's such an awesome series that I'm likely to forgive a fair amount, and as I've been nodding off because of Christmas-wrapping-exhaustion during alot of it, I probably need to re-watch it all from the start in case I've missed anything lol. This series has great potential!!!!!!!

Oh my god Sanditon, I just can't get enough!!!!
9 October 2019
I just LOVE the Sanditon series!!! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 😍 Episodes are far too short and I live for Sundays!!! I've already pre-ordered the dvd of the series (in case it's one of those great British series that disappears never to be repeated etc) and can't wait!

Great characters, although a fair few changes from the Austen book I'm reading of the same title lol... I think I can hear a loud whirring, Jane Austen is probably churning in her grave (to paraphrase Jemima Rooper's character in "Lost in Austen" 🤣) Obviously there's far too much sex for it to be faithful to the period (again did anyone watch "Lost in Austen"?!?) , but I think they've done a good job of it other than that... Can't wait for Miss Heyward and (((slurrrrrrrpppp))) Sidney, played by Theo James, to get it on, also crossing everything for Babbers and the Ice Queen Esther lol. Honestly this is my absolute Guilty Pleasure atm, it's like the days of Cranford on the telly! I'm literally peeing my pants with excitement haha... I just hope they will make several series and boooooo to the naysayers👇 😝

After episode 1,so far....
13 May 2019
It's almost as if someone took "The 100" kids (& I don't mean the singing lot off itv lol, but the Channel 5 sci-fi fest show... Which I love btw) and stuck them "Under The Dome"... but so far without any gory cow-slicing... I'm intrigued enough to watch on, but as already warned a bit of a slow start...

I LOVED this!
27 January 2019
What a great film! Amazing period drama and filmed around local Greenwich and the Rangers House in parts 👍 Brilliantly written and based around the true story od Dido Elizabeth Belle, a biracial girl born in 1761 to a British admiral father and African mother. Just epic and some amazing acting by some of the English cast

Charmed (2018–2022)

Sad Times indeed!
26 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I too was a huge fan of the original Charmed series and this is nowhere near the same level. I found it quite juvenile, with none of the sex-appeal of the earlier series. I saw online that one of the stars of the actual Charmed series was stating her opinions about this new series, and I can't say I'm at all surprised because it's just awful! Such a disappointment!!! Also as this series is set in the same house, has the same Grimoire and refers to the same "power of 3", no explanation was given as to whom they descended from in the family tree & I found it very odd that the 3 girls names all began with M, the earlier series showed generations with first names beginning with P! It seems the writers are trying to be politically correct from the colour of their skin to the lesbian girlfriend... So it's somewhat peculiar that they try to make light of said lesbian's girlfriend sleeping with other people and think it normal to have one of the non-White witches calling their Whitelighter "White Man". I've watched upto episode 3 but don't think I can take it anymore and am off to watch my 'real' Charmed boxset! 👍
