The Afterparty (2022)
Not sure about season 2...
I really loved the first season, but I don't know about this season. It started off well enough, but why do they find it necessary to turn people's version/perspective of events into period pieces. Did they do this last season, because I don't remember them doing that. This season it's taking me out of the show. It's eye-roll worthy and I'm not paying attention. I thought episode 2 was a one-off when they did it, but episode 3 is another one. I'll keep watching, but I'm finding it very difficult to get through. It makes the episode and the version of events completely confusing and...well, dumb.
The Little Mermaid (2023)
Not very good
I went in with an open mind, willing to give this movie a chance, despite what others say. It was really awful. It just looked bizarre and had awful singing sequences. I am not sure why they feel the need to continually make cartoons into live action movies, but this is another that should not have been done. The cartoon is far superior and if you want to see a good version of this, stick wth that one. Even when they had this story on Once Upon a Time (the tv show) was far better than this mess. If you insist, you are better off waiting until it hits cable or a streaming channel you already have than wasting money on it.
Queen Cleopatra (2023)
Inaccurate joke
This movie is nothing but a shoddy, inaccurate joke of a movie. There is nothing remotely historical or biographical about it whatsoever. Someone just wanted to interject their social justice view of history into their own version and try to pass it off as if it were even remotely true. It is full of suppositions, guesses, and assumptions instead of historical fact. Aside from that, it is extremely dull and boring. They really should leave the history to actual academics instead of trying to continually push their leftist narrative via these boorish propaganda films that no one has asked for in the first place.
Supernatural: Wayward Sisters (2018)
Just...no
Horrible idea, plot, concept, and horrendous acting. The writers did a disservice to the entire show with this ridiculousness. Teen angst, really?
The Wicker Man (2006)
I thought it was pretty good
I thought the setup (if you're referring to the little girl & her mom in the car) was explained. He lost one little girl which obviously had a profound effect on him, and he was determined to find the other girl since he hadn't, in his mind, succeeded in saving the first one. I thought this was quite obvious. I really liked this movie. I wasn't expecting the ending...I was very surprised. I think some people watch movies and want everything spelled out for them. This move actually makes you think at times. If you rent it on DVD, you can watch the alternate ending, which was pretty...disturbing. I would definitely recommend it.
