The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Forgettable
Unlike the Peter Jackson trilogy, The Rings of Power will likely fade into oblivion. Fortunately, most Tolkien fans prefer it to be that way.
The acting is subpar at best, writing is forced, unnatural, and un-Tolkien, not to mention the plot and characters are contradictory to Tolkien's writings and mythology. Why would Amazon buy the writes to the greatest world building asset ever created only to change what made it so incredible?
The only redeeming quality is the aesthetic appeal of the surroundings and the surprisingly good CGI. Aside from that, I cannot find any reason to keep watching past episode 1.
Everything's Gonna Be All White (2022)
Overtly Racist
Let racism die, why is that such a hard thing to do? It's as simple as calling out racism when it is there and working together to stop it, but classifying and entire race of people as overtly racist is, in and of itself, racist.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Unmemorable and Unremarkable
Despite the all star cast and age old tale of a world ending event, this film falls flat on its face. Disregarding the not so subtle ploys of climate change hysteria and anti-conservativism increasingly pushed by Hollywood, "Don't Look Up" fails to captivate its audience simply by being a boring, run-of-the-mil Netflix original movie. Not a single persons reaction to the news of an impending planet-killer asteroid was plausible. If this is Hollywood's opinion of everyday citizens who "refuse to take take climate change seriously", then they truly are the fools. It lacks both comedy and intrigue, leaving nearly two and a half hours of runtime to offer nothing more than background noise. Unmemorable and unremarkable.
Hawkeye (2021)
Good Show, Tired of Political Narratives being Pushed
An interesting and insightful take on Hawkeye, the powerless Avenger, that explores his personal life and new adventures. If the writing didn't force a feminist agenda down my throat I would have thoroughly enjoyed the entire show.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
Best Romcom Ever Made
Although I'm not a "romcom" kind of guy, I could watch this on repeat for a week and not get tired of it. Any guys out there who want to impress a girl on a first "Netflix and chill" kind of date, pull this baby out. It'll impress her that you know it and you will stay entertained the entire time.
Pokémon Journeys (2019)
Giant Ad for Pokémon GO
The first 3 episodes were great overall, but episode 4 takes a turn and ultimately becomes a giant ad to get more people to play Pokémon GO. If they focused more on plot and character development, along with staying consistent with some of the previously set rules in the Pokémon world (i.e. Battling wild Pokémon before being able to catch them), it would be rated it much higher.
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
Comical and Heartwarming
Offers much more than what is expected...it's not going to win any awards, but it's a fun movie that's more than worth the time it takes to watch. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a feel-good movie starring a couple of extremely talented actors.
Fahrenheit 451 (2018)
Far-Left Propaganda At Its Finest
As if the Bible would be one of the three books to survive in a dystopian society wishing to force its population into recognizing the government as the only true authority. Christianity is what allowed for democracies to rise, and the far left is the real threat to its survival today. If you disagree, look back to the principals of the Protestant Reformation and the founding of the United States, and contrast those views with those the media pushes today.
The development is dry and shallow. The characters fail to appeal to the audience, plot holes are unneeded, and it is a boring movie overall
