Going the Distance (2010)
Drew, it's not your fault; it's the writer's
It pains me to score anything poorly that stars the enigmatic drew Barrymore. However, this script was like a frat boy's creative writing paper. Uggghhhhhh.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)
I love it
Fresh, original, funny, and from a female perspective. My friends kept telling me to watch it and at first I resisted. A Jewish girl in the 1950's? Didn't think I'd like it. And, I don't like it: I loved it! You will not be disappointed.
Wine Country (2019)
SNL female crew make a great movie
If you find this 'boring' don't worry; this film wasn't meant for you. It's great to see a movie about a group of women friends. I read that it was based on an actual trip that this group of women took. I especially loved the hill scene, and could totally relate to their story. The poor ratings are just the double standards placed on women when they try and do anything.
Proven Innocent (2019)
New and fresh
I'm not at all surprised this show has gotten such bad reviews. It's progressive, new, fresh and has a strong female lead. I think it's brilliant. It's also entertaining. It gives voice to people who are typically overlooked in television (basically, anyone who is not a white male). I think the episodes show sensitivity and social awareness. I'll be crushed if they don't commission another series.
Half Magic (2018)
Hopefully, just the first of many
Well done, Heather Graham. She takes a lot of very topical subjects and strings them together. If you are a woman, you will probably get it. If you're a guy, you probably won't. This movie isn't perfect, but why does it have to be? Lord knows women have been subjected to 'guy' movies for years. I'm looking forward to seeing more movies of this genre.
One Crazy Christmas (2018)
Ugh
I could stomach about 2 min of this cliched drivel. Perhaps there will soon become a time when female writers will have a chance to write about their own experiences. In the meantime, we are still stuck with men creating a bunch of female caricatures - their idea of what it means to be a woman #fail
Leap Year (2010)
I'm still scarred
This was insulting. Sorry, despite the looks and the Irish accent, are we really supposed to believe that the main character will fall for a guy who treats her so badly. Although, she has no redeeming features either. And, their constant arguing is far from banter; it's just annoying.
