Where there is a will...

This is a true story. Ron Howard has done it again. Made us proud to be living dedicated human beings. If you do not feel good after watching this movie then you do not have a pulse. It is long but so is the tragedy taking place in front of you. Colin and Vergo are really into their roles. Thank you for sharing this epic story.

Away (2020)

Humanity and Real Space

This is an unusual program. It is about people, regular people, with skills, feelings and beliefs engaged in a space voyage to Mars. It is not 2001 or Interstellar. It is a rather realistic slice of life. It is slow and as such is much of real life. The title says it all, AWAY. It does not matter whether is is to MARS of Alaska. The human impact of separation and choices. It is about us. Big or small the challenge to accomplish something great contrasted with as great a challenge to be a part of the human family. I think the characters are rich and interesting but ultimately just like everyone else. Joy, sadness, regret, accomplishment, failure, egos, etc. are all normal human qualities on display. However they unite to achieve something new. The science seems believable, not contrived or too Sci-fi fanciful but rather realistic. Swank is no Kirk but does show strong leadership and good acting. I hope we are not left with only ten episodes. I say watch it for the human lessons.

The Godfather Part III (1990)

Not up to par

I only have one comment. Sofia Copalla is the worst actor ever. The movie is ruined by her performance. The story line is sadly more like a TV soap opera. This could have been a great sequel but it is just a formula film bound to make lots of money. This clearly ends the Godfather legend. For viewers accustom to good character development you will be very sad for paying good money to see this film. Goodfellers is much better. Francis Ford Copalla can do much better. I suggest that a alternative plot paced around the character of Tom Hagan or his son would have been interesting. Another possibility would have been in the area of the other five families. Or perhaps it would have been interesting to go even further backward to the start of the Mafia. But most of all the romance in the movie serves no purpose.
