The turtles are back! The good news: They stayed basically the same- which is great because i still feel that the idea and premise is genius to this day and the story about a family sticking together still resonates strong.
---However they have done away with the classic villain, the shredder, and replaced him with a bunch of very lame and very forgettable CG monsters, as made less interesting with a very generic plot that involves story lines no one cares about and really have nothing to do with the turtles. the whole thing had tons of pacing problems, but still had shining moments (such as the rooftop fight in the rain). the problem is that these moments were few and far in between.
Finally, it's like this: they took the turtles that you know and love and jammed them into a new adventure that doesn't quite fit them.
final grade: C+
