Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)
Underrated!
Not sure what the bad reviews are for..? Maybe people are expecting a 3-hour grand adventure of epic proportions... forgetting that this is just a kids' movie? And a GOOD kids movie, at that!
Clearly this movie isn't perfect, (it's not friggin' Shawshank Redemption), but it is hilarious and fun! My favorite Disney movie (next to Treasure Planet)! When pretty much every animated Disney movie is a musical, or almost a musical, this movie adds some variety to the Disney collection! A classic adventure, set in a great era, with laughs and a happy ending. What's not to like?
Over the Moon (2020)
good for kids
Ok, if I'm being honest, I'd give this movie a 7, but I'm rating it a 10 because I feel like the current 6 it got is a little unfair.
The movie had a strong beginning and end, though the middle left something to be desired. However, it was so refreshing to just see a fun kids movie without a political agenda. (Plus, I really loved how the goddess changes outfits throughout the movie lol.) I really enjoyed it, and best of all, my kids enjoyed it! So I consider this movie to be a win.
1917 (2019)
CINIMATIC MASTERPIECE
I didn't really know anything about this movie before watching it. I knew it was going to be a war movie, but that's about it. So, once I was sitting there and realized, "this movie seems to be in only ONE shot!?" I was truly blown away!
Not only a technical masterpiece, but a truly great story!
Pushing Daisies (2007)
Highly Underrated
If you like quirky, kind of dark, yet clever humor, this show is for you. This show is so creative and entertaining. Unfortunately, if not for the Writers' Stike that doomed so many shows and movies, Pushing Daisies would have had more episodes and a less-cheesy ending. Still a great watch!
Big Business (1988)
Classic Comedy
This movie is clean, classic 80's humor. Probably holds nostalgic value for me because I saw it when I was younger, but I think it's still good for a laugh. This movie is definitely corny, but in a good, fun way.
Ryan Hamilton: Happy Face (2017)
Clean and Funny!
This is one of the most underrated comedy specials-- in a world where most comedians rely on politics and/or raunchy shock value, Ryan Hamilton is breath of fresh air. This stand up special is relatable and hilarious, yet clean enough to watch with your grandma. 10/10
The X Files: The Unnatural (1999)
Endearing
This episode gets 10 stars just for the Mulder/Sully flirting! especially the last scene! so cute!
The X Files: Arcadia (1999)
Ideallic
I love that they're "Laura and Rob Petrie" (I love the Dick Van Dyke Show) I also love that this is supposed to nudge at the already obvious idea that this is "perfect" living.
Not to mention, this is a great episode for shippers who hang on to Mulder & Scully's slow burn of a relationship.
The X Files: The Rain King (1999)
Great Episode for Shippers
Although this episode is more comical and light hearted, unlike the typical X-File mood, which is dark and mysterious, it's still enjoyable. It gives a couple rewarding moments for the fans who are interested in Scully & Mulder's implied feelings for each other.
Some of these great moments include Mulder's statement, "I do not gaze at Scully..." and Scully talking about how great romantic relationships start as friendships. Not to mention, a suggestion from one of the characters telling Scully & Mulder to, "try it sometime," referring to sharing their true feelings.
Another moment not so blatenly romantic, but a great addition, is when Mulder tells Scully that he's giving dating advice and Scully questions the last time Mulder has been on a date. Some could say this is just for comedic effect, but in our romantic imaginations, Mulder has no desire to date... ahhh swoon!
PAW Patrol (2013)
Good for Kids of All Ages
Both my son and daughter enjoy this show and a lot of kids I've babysat (all different ages) enjoy the show. This show is even tolerable for parents watching. The best part is the show gives a good message.
Most shows have bratty attitudes and/or immoral main characters... obviously there is a villain in some episodes of PAW Patrol, but he is presented as such, where as most shows present these terrible people as role models... PAW Patrol teaches problem solving and good attitudes!
True and the Rainbow Kingdom (2017)
Great for Kids
This show teaches good values to your kids, (no immoral characters like most shows) and is actually tolerable enough for parents who view TV with their kids. Both my son and daughter love this show, so it's enjoyable for both girls and boys. Not to mention, the animation is adorable!
Obviously this show is made for kids so I'm not going to critically analyze the plot as if it was going for an academy award. honestly love this show!
Horse Girl (2020)
WHAT A TRIP
This movie is such a trip! I think that people who rated this movie low didn't get it. What a psychological thriller. This movie makes you uncomfortable and anxious. I felt the ending was a little corny, but didn't ruin it, and answered all of your questions.
