Recognize so much
25 December 2023
My mother had dementia, and there is so much I recognize in this movie.

The "stealing" - she put things away and couldn't find it Not knowing the time of day, morning - evening?

Not remembering people, mixing them up with others, although she remembered me to the end.

Constantly saying - Im fine, I can take care of my self. I don't need any help.

No being able to dress herself, or wanting to get dressed. I actually laughed at that in the movie - why should I get dressed, Im going to change into pyjamas again soon. Soooo my mom!

And so on...

People who gave it low rating, and found it boring, you will understand if one in your family gets Alzheimers, or any other kind o dementia.

And it is extremly hard to take care o a person like that, even if you would like to. There is also a danger with stoves and fire and such.

My mother lived the last 6 months in a special home. She couldn't stay at home, even with help. Just like the movie.

Messy timeline
20 July 2023
Yet another of those back and forth in time series. The problem here is that it is a matter of days or weeks and not years such as in Yellowjackets, where people look different, in a different place.

So it's hard to know when you are, you have to keep track of who is in the picture right then. Oh, he's the now dead guy - so we are before. That is a different jacket she's wearing, so that's now.... I was totally lost for a while, and my husband started to say "before" and "now" to help.

And very cold colors, Nordic Noir kind of. I'm swedish living in Denmark, so I'm fine with the idea but it is a bit bland. And used too many times, in my opinion.

This is based only on the first episode, acting is fine and interesting story, but I hope that this time-jumping-series-fashion will stop.

Finally the Joey reference
28 March 2022
So funny when Dean asks Kali "How you doin'?".

I have always thought that Dean looks - and acts - a lot like Joey in Friends and I have been waiting for him to say that line - in that voice.

Loved it!

Four more episodes?
2 November 2020
I loved the first episode, and just finished no 2. And Im a bit dissapointed.

I do hope ther will come some interesting plot twists, otherwise I don't know how they are going to fill the next 4 episodes. We more or less already know what happend, is the rest just going to be flashbacks and pictures of Kidman walking around in NY?

Now that was an ant-climax if any.

Warning: Spoilers
My first reaction was - what is this? Did we get through all this running, green colors, blood, strange people, his family showing up, a lot of killing - for WHAT?

An enourmlysy long speach in the church from the woman with the baby, to the oldest daughter, a lot more running from the young daughter, and some confusing talk about the boy. (I don't remember peoples names, thats how much impact they made on me)

Then the mother swimming to the mainland towing a boat. And that's it.

I don't know what this story was about. Really. Some confused dude coming to an island with strange people, and his wife looking for hum, finding out that they are strange, and she leaves. Maybe I missed something important?

Finally it's picking up!
28 September 2020
Loved this episode - strange fantasy, "whatabout-ish". How many have not wanted that oppertunity "say your name and what you are". Wonderful. And the story gets more Lovecraftian as well.

I can understand if young men don't like this. It IS focused on black females, but live with that. How many movies have I watched that takes he standpoint of a young white male?

Im white, female and 59 years old, if you wonder.

So....slow.... and green
23 September 2020
I usually like those kind of stories where you don't really know what is going on with the main character, or where thay are and such, but this is just too slow. I have to watch it in small parts, because I lose attention. And the colorscheme is sickly green. Sam is running in a field... now he is runnung in a forest... now he is looking in a house... now there is a dead animal... oh come on. It doesn't build tension and curiosity, it wants me to hit the fast forward button. And half o the time it is close-ups of Sam looking baffled. Could have been shorten to half the time.

Someone please explain what this is about.

Warning: Spoilers
Im really confused. Who were these people? How did they do "magic". Who was related to whom? What was the ceremony about and why did it go wrong (opening the garden of Eden - byt why?). What was that Order really about? Immortality - for all of them? Who was the pregnant black woman? God? Eve? How could Tic's father dig himself out of that cellar? How will the story continue - a new travel??? I just don't understand it. Lost.

There is a lot of background information missing, like you have to have read a lot of books to fill in the holes.

B-movie blood episode, sort of
31 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Nah... Being a huge King-fan, Im dissapointed so far.

It's all about Annie with big eyes, running around, heavy breathing, needing pills.

Breaking in to a house or medicine storage with big big eyes, heavy breathing, needing pills. Again?

25% of an episode, looking at her tied to a bed with big eyes, heavy breathing, needing pills.. AGAIN??? Eh...?

For me, this is so far a common not-so-scary B-movie type of show. Or a "find all the SK easter eggs" show.

Don't waste your time. Im fast forwarding as much as I can, hoping for some interesting things.

About her age
7 October 2019
Catherine was born 1729, and her son Paul turned 19 in the first episode. He was born 1754, which makes this 1773, and then Catherine is about 45.

Well... yeah... I too think Helen Mirren is a bit to old to play a 45 year old woman in the first episode. But I also think they probably looked older then.

But as people have pointed out - she is not supposed to be 30-ish.

Warning: Spoilers
Ok, now we start moving forwards, finally. Nice to see the fathers of Gilead having a taste of their own medicine.

Ald I just LOVED the final - "We're gonna need a bigger boat".

Classic line ad libbed by Roy Scheider in Jaws for you who din't catch that.

OMG!! A full episode with only close ups of Junes face, and that awful whispering voice. What's the next episode. A still close up of Junes dramatic eyes??

Im lasted 6 minutes, then fast forwarded. This season is horrible.

No chemistry between the main characters
31 January 2019
If I went home to my childhood town, met an old (boy)friend, and he said "oh, by the way, I saved your life in that shooting, and Im an alien" - my response woudn't be "ok, I want to know who killed my sister".

It would be like "WTF??? Where do you come from? Do you really look like that? Why are you here? How old are you?" And then maybe "Do you know anything about my sister?"

There is absolutely no chemistry between the main characters, what so ever. None. I have not seen the original Roswell, and not read the books, so I wonder what this series is about? A grumpy woman, and a lovestruck alien?

Watching episode 3 now. Last chance.
