You vs. Wild (2019)
Excellent way to teach unprepared people not to be dumb
This is an awesome idea. Because "you never know", today you may be lying on your couch eating doritos while watching Netflix in pyjamas, one day you could be unwillingly trapped in an undesired wild situation.
Comments who say "this is half staged", "not realistic enough" etc should understand it's not entertainment, but simple small bits of general education. Don't eat this, don't try that, think about xxx and yyy, that's the point of the show. Not to see Bear put his life at risk a 32893892th time.
As many wrote it before it's a must see for kids aswell, because the interactive trial&error also teaches to not rush everything, think about your environment, and plan ahead.
Love it, good job Netflix, good job Bear.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Just a detail I want to add before you read other disappointed reviews :
This is not a horror show. If you're seeking jumpscares, blood, disembodiment, and gore, this is not the show you should dive in, and it never described itself as such.
Now if you've got some appetite for romanticism (true romanticism, which means dark, rich, dense, emotion-bending), with outstanding acting, incredible meta writing, fascinating ambience, then you should hit that play button. It's also not for the fragile mind, as one of the meta writings will make you think about real world problems such as depression, anxiety, and other severe syndroms that could destroy anyone's life.
Thank god Mike Flanagan prefered to go this more complex way rather than the former, because he shows some serious talent here.
