Swarm (2023)
Great series except for episode 6
Loved this so much.. very interesting and Fishback does a superb job. The only issue is with the random and confusing 6th episode. It breaks the entire story and flow. It also confuses the audience trying to figure out what is going on, if it's supposed to be the future, who people are... it also tries to convince viewers this is a real story with the true crime style and Glover's clip at the end. The rest of the series was awesome, episode 6 feels like they wrote the entire series and then realized they needed another episode, so they whipped out this random story, totally disconnected, and grabbed any actors they could find to play the parts... weird.
Clarice (2021)
Off to a good start
We are one episode in and these reviews are jumping the gun to boo it. They are establishing her as an independent character from past cases. She's an agent. She has other cases. And everything she experienced with the antagonism from other agents was referenced in past movies. Now we see it. Let that develop and unfold. Also, someone commented that the dialog was bad... where?! People just try to find a reason to critique anything that revisits established stories or characters because they feel it is copying the past or too far from it... stop coming with preconceived ideas.
Star Trek: Picard: Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2 (2020)
Quit wanting it to be something else.
This is not TOS. Nor TNG. This is a new story, moving forward in time. Just as you are not the same as you were in 1993, these characters grow and change! So does their world! This is a great, gritty, more realistic story of the universe at this time. Yes, gay people exist. Yes, bad things happen. The heart is the story is still true blue trek. I thought this story was great. And I was happy to see closure for Data, hope for the Federation, and a new path for both Picard and Seven to go down next season. This was very well done and a great finale for the season.
For all you upset folks that it's not the g-rated happy place last series were, grow up or watch a rerun. This is taking trek to a place more grounded in reality. Enjoy the ride for what it is and quit expecting it to be a replica of what once was!
Star Trek: Picard: The Impossible Box (2020)
Keeps getting better!!!
Not sure what all the hate is about. This is getting awesome! Very exciting and develops more and more from past storylines. No, it's not like past treks... it's built into the legacy with far better story telling. Loved seeing Hugh get more of a story too!
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Love!!!
Great new direction and so much more "real" than previous series... the characters are people, just in the future... not cheesy, not dumbed down... this has soul and grit!
Star Trek: Picard: Stardust City Rag (2020)
Bad reviewers are crazy
I was a huge fan or TNG and other spinoffs. Picard is an awesome new direction! The world changed and is going down a dark path, this entire series is about Picard using his remaining days to counter that! This episode was amazing. It shows a whole new side of the universe beyond the G-rated world Starfleet used to ensure. The areas this episode take place in are lawless, that's the point. Criminals exist. Violence exists. Quit crying because it's not a perfect world and appreciate their goals... and the death scene all plays into the overall theme - borg tech is being used by everyone to gain advantage. It also explains why Seven took this new direction to be a freedom fighter.its awesome for anyone who actually is paying attention!
Bless the Harts (2019)

The I-Land (2019)
Really, really bad...
It's a shame that these actors have been shafted by dismal scripts and terrible direction. It feels like student work with a big budget. I agree with another review - this money should have been put towards The OA! At this point, I'm 4 episodes in and it's so bad I can't stop. I find myself laughing at serious parts. "Cease and desist!" And Maria Conchita Alonzo?!??! It's so bad, it's good, but it's really bad. Let's see how bad this train wreck gets!
X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)
People are never satisfied
Far better than the first iteration of the Phoenix saga. I loved the film. I grew up with the comics and cartoon. This did it justice.
Pandora (2019)
How was this ever made?!
Ok... who is getting fired? This is one of the worst shows I have seen in years. It feels like it's straight out of 1992. I'm getting strong "Earth 2" or "Sea Quest" or "Babylon 5" levels of cheesy. This baby is rotten from the core - the writing is where this went wrong. Then they piled on top of that with marginal acting, insanely cheap looking sets, terrible costuming, and musical scores that are straight out of a movie that is trying to portray a fake sci fi show... it's awful. It's as if they took every terrible thing about sci fi shows from the 80s and 90s and recycled it, but somehow made it even worse... and I almost forgot to mention the fake British accents that happen for no apparent reason! What a mess! I'm just curious how many episodes they will air before aborting this baby...
The Endless (2017)
It's title is how it feels
This is a hot mess of a movie that makes you feel as if you've been stuck in time for 24 years from start to finish. It defeats its own story premise by saying these two men were raised in a camp which they left 10 years prior, but have now returned to only to be possible stick there should they stay more than 3 days... a camp where everyone is hush-hush about the repeating of time when they arrive, but somehow are willing to disclose over the course of a few days, and then are happy when the they escape at the end. Beyond ridiculous. I want to sue for my 2 hours of life I spent on this monstrosity. Do not watch or you, too, will be stuck!
Containment (2016)
The perfect storm of terrible writing and acting.
This show is the entertainment equivalent of an abortion. They started out with the promise of something great, and through the magic of epically awful writing and acting that is difficult to watch, they effectively turned it into one of the worst productions to be found on network television. I would compare this show to the abysmal 'Sharknado' franchise offerings... But sadly their intention was not to fall into the "it's stupid and we know it" category.
Everything about this show is unrealistic -- and that is something that could almost be forgivable with descent acting. But while I'd be willing to go down a science fiction rabbit hole for the sake of the story, I can't swallow a story with truly unbelievable character interactions. The ridiculous interplay between characters while a supposed quarantine is in place is beyond absurd, bordering on moronic. And the combination of abhorrent writing and bad acting with the elderly interracial couple is some next level buffoonery that will make any sane person's eyes roll so frequently they may have a seizure. Add to that the utterly ridiculous notion that a teenage boy would not only want to break into a quarantine zone with a deadly outbreak, but have the wherewithal to somehow find a way in past hundreds of police officers and national guard, and you have, by far, one of the worst shows ever produced. It is no wonder this wretched turd was canceled three episodes in... Its a hard no!
I truly do not understand how this show has ranked so high unless creators have paid for 5 star ratings to try and salvage their tattered reputation... Especially now as they are turning the narrative to a government conspiracy aimed at infecting our own people (I believe)... Because it wasn't unrealistic and far fetched enough!
The Grace Helbig Show (2015)
Keep Searching E!
I understand that E! is trying super hard to fill the hole that Chelsea left behind. But please, let's just call this a lost cause and move on. This is one situation where something funny on YouTube just doesn't work, at all, on television. Grace would be palatable and entertaining in <5 minute intervals, but the full length episodes are more than difficult to watch and I find myself suffering from an endless amount of seizures and/or vertigo caused by the numerous times my eyes roll into the back of my head. Everything she does is more forced than childbirth and just as difficult to watch.
Hey E! If you want something to air for the sake of filling a time slot, air reruns of Mama's Family. I guarantee even that would draw in a bigger audience.
Intruders (2014)
Excellent Cast, Original Story
This has been an excellent series so far. The concept is original, the cast is superb, and the acting is wonderful. Millie Bobby Brown and Mira Sorvino specifically deliver performances worthy of awards. John Simm and James Frain are also fantastic in the series. The first few episodes were a little slow, but once you get past those few episodes and are well acquainted with the characters and the story, it's an addictive ride. This is a series that is more cerebral than many network or cable action-packed series. For me, this story was so compelling that I never missed the crutch of special effects or fight sequences that many other series depend upon.
