Just an Atheist Movie
29 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I thought the description of the movie sounded kind of interesting so I watched it. I found it engaging enough to keep watching. Until I realized as they sit around the fire and the main character talks to the others about his past, that this movie was written by an atheist, to promote atheism. It was a great disappointment to this old Christian, to whom God has proven Himself to on countless occasions, and is so Interactive and ever-present in our lives. It's too bad that it will have high favor to numerous people, but that is what the scriptures foretell. "For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

New Age Babble
27 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I went into watching this with an open mind and having no idea as to who wrote or produced this, and no idea of the type of 'experts' they we're using. (I should have checked this information beforehand.) They have the 'Medium' James Van Praagh, who has long, loooong since been listed as among the fraudsters that uses basic, dime-store 'fishing tactics', as well as it being said that he has been caught in petty lies on numerous occasions. You have so-called 'witnesses' being interviewed where it appears that they are acting, and very poorly I might add. You have these 'ordained Pastors', where its been said that you can get your certificates online for free, or for a fee if you want the more authentic looking ones on better paper, for these kind of churches. You have the elderly 'Pastor' who is sitting there with his stole around the neck that is only to be used during services on the altar. Someone must not have sent him the memo as to how to dress to appear authentic and believable. Mind you, these are not my words, and I have not been among those who have done all the investigations, interviews, and observances - I've only been reading the reports and results of the info for decades. They wanted to make it appear to be very scientific and authentic, but this will only appeal to those who don't have greater knowledge.

Warning: Spoilers
The acting in this movie was very good, however I cannot say that I fully appreciated the story or the main characters imbalanced, cynical, , and selfish, self-centered ways. I found it very frustrating, especially with how she consistently vacillates, which blatantly hurts others. I was glad when the story showed the soldier moving on with his life and getting married, after she crushed him a second time. It left me thinking that it would have been best had the main character been sent away for a while to a psychiatric facility. This wouldn't be a movie that I would really recommend to anyone, nor would I ever watch it again.

Engrossing!
25 April 2023
I'm really interested in seeing how this plays out and I'm even going to subscribe to the channel just to watch this show! The acting is very good for the majority of the characters. I don't want to create a spoiler so I will just say I really truly hope that it doesn't turn out to be something lame like at the end of a particular Stephen King movie. The scary scenes really are creepy and well done, with the exception of when the two characters get out of a tent the next morning to discover certain material on the bushes and trees around them, which let the lead character to something straight out of the Stephen King novel that I was referencing, lol. Please have more imagination than that! And you don't have to have everybody swearing the f word including the teenager when yelling at her baby brother. It is pretty ridiculous and seems to knock the quality down a bit. Other than that they're doing a great job with this! Just don't blow it with a Stephen King ending, LOL.

Very Unsatisfying
9 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The only reason I watched this movie is because of Ted Neely (Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar). I didn't realize that he wasn't the lead character, but I ended up watching it anyway. I found it to be pretty lifeless and unhumous. I did not care for the lead actors forceful manner with the woman, who refused to take no for an answer, and his and his family's unreasonable and behavior, and the fact that Jesus was running around on stage continuously taking his father's name in vain, LOL! In the end rather than the man choosing to leave his overbearing father, he was kicked out. The woman did leave behind her looser life with the band, but into the arms of a temperamental manchild. Is very few redeeming qualities of this movie, however, there is Ted Neely!

Tiresome, Uninteresting, and Extremely long
5 March 2023
I had higher hopes for this picture, but unfortunately I was really disappointed. The actor who played the lead character was nothing less than exceptional. There were too many scenes that were too saccharine sweet and too many scenes that were over the top dramatic. Too many unconvincing scenes, and too many characters I found were just very unendearing, especially the mother. Hollywood also needs to start using more actors and actresses for age appropriate roles. There's way too many middle-aged actors and actresses being used as parents of little children, and it can just simply be a distraction. Use the grandparent and great-grandparents aged actors for grandparent and great-grandparent aged roles. That might seem like unnecessary criticism but it truly can be distracting and make a story less believable. Hopefully his next movie will be better. He is a remarkable, artistic, and highly talented and imaginary director.

A Wonderful, Old-Fashioned, Feel Good Movie!!!
20 August 2022
It has been a very long time since there have been any movies worth going to. When I saw the previews to this I knew that my long wait was over! I wasn't extremely familiar with this actress but she was completely perfect for this role. She was absolutely wonderful, and I would love to see her in other roles. We have enough movies with political agendas, lifestyle agendas, sarcastic motives, and deception. Whatever happened to the movies that were just simply made to put a smile on a person's face and allow them to leave the theater happy? This was that kind of movie! I have already recommended this movie to many, many people and if they make a second movie, I'll be there!

An Embarrassment to Watch. Disgusting.
12 June 2022
Ya know, you really wonder what goes through some people's minds at times. This story probably made sense to nobody but the creator, probably because the creator was putting their own fragmented, demented drug-filled moments and experiences on the big screen, tragically believing it to resemble art and hoping there may be someone else out there that can find it relatable, not to mention the attempt to turn tripe into money. WRONG-O. My appreciation for Roddy McDowell led me to watch this ghastly trash. His criminally wasted talent was spent on an insignificant bit character who gets turned on by carrots. The creators obsession with non-stop attention to sex, homosexuality, and bisexuality is like a juvenile who just had his first sexual encounter and can't stop telling everybody about it, or a toddler who just discovered his penis for the very first time. Embarrassing. Truly embarrassing. My recommendation would be to not waste your time watching this movie - it will only leave you extremely disappointed and with a WTF moment.

In layman's terms, a thoroughly crummy movie!
31 January 2022
Good Heaven's, other than Raf Vallone, the overacting is off the charts! It was so bad that I cannot fathom how it got the ratings it has. Complete with extremely silly, vomit-riddled scenes, this movie will have your eyes rolling and groaning and waiting for the end.

Sigh...... another fake show....
4 September 2021
I watched two episodes so I gave it a fair shot. During the time this was made there were already so many other paranormal shows that had been deemed fake. Yet there are still ones being made in hopes of ratings, which equals out to dollars. People have been scamming others nearly since the beginning of time. I don't buy a single second of it. I thought the very first show was quite funny, considering the top of the top forensic investigators including a well-known one from Quantico studied old evidence of this case and they say Lizzie Borden did not do it. There have been even psychics that have said that she did not do it yet there are those, like the "psychic" in here who speak about her being the murderer as a complete fact. It's a ridiculous show and it's a waste of your time and an insult to your intelligence.

He Has No Shame
18 August 2021
This man doesn't seem to have any shame, much less any grace or sense of humility. His ego is staggering. It's a good thing that most people see through the BS and are able to identify what he is. Maybe it's time he grows up and takes the responsibility of his actions.

Let Him Be Silent
18 August 2021
Spoken like a true predator. This is truly dark and creepy, just like the man he truly seems to be. If this didn't get as much negative publicity like it has, I would have never been curious enough to watch it. I heard that there were over thirty people that came forward and accused him. How many does it take to convince others of another's guilt? Sometimes the accused are indeed guilty and should have a little shame and remain silent.

3 Shows is More Than Enough
18 August 2021
I just recently watched three shows. I have never heard of the game show before. The CONS are: 1. It is very slow 2. The host Kevin Pollak seems completely disinterested. You know that he would rather be acting then having to be a game show host. But the worst thing about this show is that the contestants are completely nauseating. I'm not a person who likes to use the term "Shut Up!", but I have said it so many times while watching this that I had to watch the last show on mute. After that I decided that it's just not worth watching. I think it would be really fun if they sped it up, maybe even having two sets of contestants, one couple for every 15 minutes. It would also be good if the contestants were instructed to quit interrupting and over talking the host, and to behave in a slightly more dignified manner.

This movie touches on a number of areas
15 July 2021
This movie may have been about an elderly man becoming true to himself in his latter years but it also addresses the effects of deception, the effects it can have on children, fear, a lack of hope, compromise, acceptance, and hope. This is a very cerebral movie, so if you're looking for a lot of action and high comedic relief, this is not the movie for you. I really truly appreciated this movie and appreciated the fact that I could identify with the fear of having hope. The acting is superb. It is truly a very different role for Christopher plumber, but he doesn't effortlessly, and this was the movie that got him an academy after all these decades!

SO GLAD I finally got around to watching this!
15 July 2021
I remember when this came out in theaters and I was contemplating going then but I decided not to. I remember seeing the VHS (and later DVD) in the movie rental stores and I considered many times through the years watching it, but somehow I never got around to it. I happen to be home today and I watched it during lunch time. I was pleasantly surprised. It was better than what I was anticipating. I found it moving as well as being humorous, and It was an effective mix of both. The drama is not too heavy and the humor is not too great - it was nicely balanced. I would recommend this to others, and I may watch it again myself!

FANTASTIC!
10 July 2021
This is truly a remarkable film, and the story has a very surprising twist that I did not see coming. They chose fantastic actors whose performances were so convincing they really made you believe that you were watching real people acting out their lives. I would highly recommend this film, and if you are a Christopher Plummer fan this is a must.

Truly a great disappointment
26 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is a story about two selfish and self-centered men who take great advantage of an innocent girl, with the first one stringing her along with no intention to marry her, and the other one who lies and deceives his way throughout the entire relationship, hurting her repeatedly, only for her to end up feeling like she's the one to blame. The story attempts to draw sympathy from the audience to the culprit! It was truly disappointing, and really maddening.

7.5 Stars!!
8 June 2021
I very much enjoyed this movie. Unfortunately I was not able to see it in the theater like I wanted. I felt joy for every character that achieved something great in the movie, and I can't imagine what something like that felt like back then during that time. I would strongly recommend this movie. It is a triumph, just like the real women that were portrayed.

Amazing but Heartbreaking
2 June 2021
It has been a long time since I have seen a movie with this caliber. The acting is truly superb with each of the actors and actresses. The way "reality" is depicted for a person descending into the depths of dementia is frighteningly accurate. Everything was executed beautifully. I believe that it is extremely important for everyone in the healthcare industry, for family, friends, church, and community members to see this. As one who is assisting in the care of a loved one with dementia, it is so very important to be patient and also to not show a surprised expression to common odd behaviors or comments, which can alarm and shame the one who is ill. They need our love, attention, and assurance. Do not hesitate to see this!

Disgusting Tripe
19 May 2021
It is extremely disappointing when you see history and reputations of people so torn and twisted in books and movies. Those people have accountability for twisting the minds of readers and viewers who may not be aware of the reality behind a historical figure or story. There were so many unnecessary disgusting elements added to this twisted tale that it really makes one wonder about the person/people who wrote it. One thing is for certain, and that is that they should be ashamed of themselves for producing such gross rubbish.

Entertaining Despite Reality
16 May 2021
I have now seen this movie 3 times. Whether or not you like or agree with Mark Zuckerberg or any of the other people portrayed in the movie, this is an excellent movie and very entertaining regardless the reality behind it. The acting is superb, the script, directing, everything is excellent. Though Mark Zuckerberg is not person that I would ever friend on Facebook, I would highly recommend this movie.

Very Inspiring
13 May 2021
I just heard of this movie for the first time yesterday. I am so glad that I chose to watch this tonight. I was truly inspired by the story, as well as greatly appreciating all that the African American people have endured at the hands of racist, ignorant, prideful, wicked whites, and I myself am white. My best friend since childhood was black and I learned so many invaluable lessons from her and her family, which became my family by heart. Even before we met one another my mother always taught us that everyone is equal in the eyes of God. I remember when the first black family moved to town. All my friends and classmates were so eager for the daughters to become our classmates and friends. Our church welcomed them with open arms and were very happy to get them acquainted. In a little town of Grand Forks, North Dakota, there used to be very little diversity. Praise God for diversity.

A Gem!
9 May 2021
I truly enjoyed this movie! I had not heard of it before but I noticed it on Amazon Prime and it garnered my interest. I appreciated Brian Cox's character as he is noticing his failings one by one, due to age and illness. I appreciated the magic of the relationship between youth and elder, and how wonderfully reciprocal it can be. And I am so pleased that it ended on a good note, and the not in a cemetery!

Where's The Plot?? What's The Point??
18 April 2021
If you have appreciated a couple of Quentin Tarantino's former films, you may be disappointed with this one. There is very little plot to speak of, and there are long drawn-out scenes that don't add anything to a storyline, such as watching Brad Pitt drive for several minutes. That's it, just driving. The movie is so scattered, random, and slow. The movie then completely veers off into a tale of Charles Manson, the commune, and Sharon Tate, which I found completely unnerving, disgusting, completely tasteless, and utterly disrespectful to those who are slaughtered in that insane situation, only to be parodied in Tarantino's shameful offering to the Industries consumers. It really makes me wonder how this piece of work received such high ratings. It must have taken a lot of promises and a lot of cash.

Well made, but very frustrating story
4 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was looking forward to watching this movie but I did not realize how frustrating it was going to be. Everything centers around an unfaithful, self-centered, immoral, egotistical, spoiled, rich woman, and her faithful husband whom she speaks indignantly about to others, while she pursues her affairs. He becomes low on her priority list, along with her daughter and grandbaby (that she wants no one to know about because she enjoys deceiving others about her age.), while he continues to give her a chance after chance. The acting all the way around is very good, and I am happy to say that he comes to his senses and brings about a happy ending.
