A beautiful piece about youth & life choices
11 November 2022
Firstly the picture of this movie incredible. Beyond the boobs and bouncy asses, the aesthetic almost makes you want to be part of this nightmare. The colours are incredible, the sunsets are as intense as the vitality of these young girls.

Who had never dreamed to live a life to its fullest? To disconnect from reality, blandness, monotone colours, and reasonable decisions? I think we've all been trough this. And this movie manages to make you feel like you have a part of these girls within you, despite their naive personnalities.

The characters love their decisions as much as they fear them. Even the hustler character.

I remember when this movie was released in France in 2012 or 2013, it received tons of very good critiques. I finally got the chance to watch it today on Netflix and now I understand why everyone was saying it's a masterpiece. It is such a shame that it got such a low rating here. Probably because people didn't expect to watch a deep piece of art but were hoping to get enternainted by a comedy?

You have to watch this movie!

Disappointing
16 May 2022
I only enjoyed watching Sophie Marceau in this movie. Otherwise the story is really boring, the role of the gay best friend is a caricature, and the actor doesn't play well. The voice over and the constant flashbacks become annoying and too repetitive. The story doesn't feel real, we don't see anything about her career as a movie director in LA. People are rich but don't work. I was just hoping for a plot twist all along the movie, but nothing ever happened.

A life changing movie
6 February 2022
This movie, based on a novel, tells the story of two beautiful people who decided to be the masters of their destiny, the painter of their life, filled with joy, imagination and magic. It talks to all of us by exacerbing questions that we all ask to ourselves: what is the purpose of life if not lived the way we want, if not lived joyfully ? This movie makes me want to live my life fully, by feeling more and thinking less. It depicts the story of a couple who decided to dedicate their life to love, in its purest definition, with all its flaws, but honestly. Dependence and adiction to the loved one is not hidden behind a mask in this couple. This story is so powerful and the actors are brilliant (Romain Duris and Virginie Efira are really amazing, and their child is played by a very talented boy). I don't know how this movie is in English, as I have seen the French original version. But it is definitely worth a try, just let go your assumptions of what life "should be like" before watching it, because the characters don't leave any space for anyone or anything to tell them what they should be. It is a pure beauty. Prepare your tissue box, you'll cry a lot. I genuinely think that there will be a before and a after in my life thanks to this movie. I can't wait to watch it again.

Still didn't understand the ending...
17 April 2020
The atmosphere is great, the story captivating, with tension building up. Unfortunately, things get messed up with the main character's backstory. I still didn't get the ending of this movie. Anyone to help me understand who actually did what ? i cannot find any answer online as everyone else seems to be confused...
