Breaking the Voice
Moments before a performance, a young man goes through a process to find his 'voice'.
In a city polluted with broken souls, we randomly encounter Jed, a young coming-of-age male singer about to endure a moment of truth. Jed is about to perform and in the process of conjuring his 'voice' he conjures memories that awaken a realisation of his place in the world. A fusion of city lights and the bustle of unfamiliar faces, he finds Loneliness. Isolation. Fear. Hope. Uncertainty. Strength. Detached from his peers and unhealthily connected to his older sister, Jenny, whose consumption with a drug addiction consistently gnaws away at any glimpse of Jed's escape. In the journey of finding his voice, Jed must find the courage to face delivering a performance that will ultimately bring his own deliverance.
