If you ask Marc Fienberg what it is that sets a great director apart, he'll tell you that it's an ability to face down any unforseen problem, and quickly devise a creative solution that not only gets the shot, but does so in a way that makes the story even better. If you don't believe it, ask him about the time he lost a location and had to figure out a way to shoot a 12 hour schedule in 45 minutes. In a one-shot. While hitting three major plot points. Uphill. Both ways. In a snowstorm.
