1. The Devil Inside (2012)

R | 83 min | Horror

18 Metascore

In Italy, a woman becomes involved in a series of unauthorized exorcisms during her mission to discover what happened to her mother, who allegedly murdered three people during her own exorcism.

Director: William Brent Bell | Stars: Fernanda Andrade, Simon Quarterman, Evan Helmuth, Ionut Grama

Votes: 37,518 | Gross: $53.26M

I've heard literally nothing but bad things about this movie, but I didn't hate it. I'm also extremely interested in the Catholic church and its views on exorcism so I found a lot of the info interesting. I don't think I'd watch it again but I didn't loathe it the way everyone else did. Not scary, though.

2. Beauty and the Beast (1991)

G | 84 min | Animation, Family, Fantasy

95 Metascore

A prince cursed to spend his days as a hideous monster sets out to regain his humanity by earning a young woman's love.

Directors: Gary Trousdale, Kirk Wise | Stars: Paige O'Hara, Robby Benson, Jesse Corti, Rex Everhart

Votes: 479,818 | Gross: $218.97M

Beauty and the Beast came back for its limited rerelease in 3D in January! Saw it at midnight and loved every second. It really lit up in 3D. Kudos, Disney.

3. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)

R | 158 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery

71 Metascore

Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for 40 years by young computer hacker Lisbeth Salander.

Director: David Fincher | Stars: Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Christopher Plummer, Stellan Skarsgård

Votes: 495,032 | Gross: $102.52M

What a compelling movie! A little long, but I enjoyed the whole thing so it wasn't a problem. Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig are phenomenal. Inspired me to start reading the books soon.

4. The Woman in Black (2012)

PG-13 | 95 min | Drama, Fantasy, Horror

62 Metascore

A young solicitor travels to a remote village where he discovers that the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals.

Director: James Watkins | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Janet McTeer, Ciarán Hinds, Emma Shorey

Votes: 192,693 | Gross: $54.33M

Confession time: I'm pretty much in LOVE with Daniel Radcliffe, so I've already seen this film twice and it hasn't even been out for a week. But I'd love it even if he wasn't in it. The storyline is good, it was terrifying, and the movie was actually very emotional. Cinematography=gorgeous. Go see it. And don't make any HP references! :)
