Not a single dull moment, this show has you glued to the screen at every given moment. Also offers a brilliant and groundbreaking conclusion that's truly ahead of its time. An absolute masterpiece, must see.

2. Oz (1997–2003)

The inception of HBO's dramas. And one of the very best. Devoured this show like crazy, just couldn't stop watching. Once you get in the mindset of the show, know the characters and how things work in the Oswald Penitentry, there's nothing more entertaining to watch, no matter how brutal it is. Got to give some credit to the show that started television as we know it, too.

3. Breaking Bad (2008–2013)

A perfect crime story. Balanced between slow-burner episodes and intense episodes just in the right amount, and keeps you interested through the entire thing. It constantly gets better from season to season, then it reaches the fifth season which might be the best season in television's history. Cranston brings my favorite performance on TV ever, and the writing is top notch. A masterpiece drama.

4. The Sopranos (1999–2007)

Three seasons of quality television. Most shows and movies just have you sit there and watch them, with outstanding moments every now and then, but in Hannibal you are literally in the edge of your seat every single moment of every single episode. So sad it got cancelled, I hope it will find a new home soon.

Damon Lindelof brings us a unique modern classic, drama at its purest form. Great premise and a fascinating story with great characters. Add some intriguing fantasy elements just in the right amount- and there's another HBO masterpiece. Great writing, and an exceptional score. Very, very underrated.

It was only a matter of time until Nolan comes to HBO, and as expected the result is at the highest level possible. The most promising show iv'e seen in years, with a whole world to be invested in and so many possibilities and theories. The first season was fantastic, and i'm sure it will only get better.

14. The Newsroom (2012–2014)

Never thought a show about psychiatrist sessions can be so interesting, but believe me, it's better than you think. The writing team and the leading actors (and especially Byrne) keeps you invested in the characters and just wanting to listen to more. Offers a lot of great story lines, definitely one of the finest shows I've ever seen.
