Its the definitive gangster picture! If anyone ever asked me what I thought was the best of all time, I'd pick this one. Hands down! It is also one of the best movies of all time which I agree!

2. The Godfather Part II (1974)

Votes: 1,365,037 | Gross: $57.30M

I often see different opinions about this one saying that its either better than the first one or that it is not as good. But to me in my opinion its just as good as the first one! I'd also say that it is one of the best sequels of all time!

3. Goodfellas (1990)

The story of Henry Hill and his life in the mafia, covering his relationship with his wife Karen and his mob partners Jimmy Conway and Tommy DeVito.

Director: Martin Scorsese | Stars: Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco

Votes: 1,258,224 | Gross: $46.84M

For me, this is a brilliant movie about the good side and the bad side of being in the mob. Some people prefer this movie over The Godfather, but I don't. But still I would give this film a 10 out of 10 if you'd ask me!

4. On the Waterfront (1954)

Approved | 108 min | Crime, Drama, Thriller

91 Metascore

Votes: 165,020 | Gross: $9.60M

This is a movie I have not seen on anybodys Top 10 list and I don't know why! This film is a classic. It shows why Marlon Brando was so good at acting. The message that this movie brings though is that one person can make a difference in life!

5. Scarface (1983)

R | 170 min | Crime, Drama

65 Metascore

In 1980 Miami, a determined Cuban immigrant takes over a drug cartel and succumbs to greed.

Director: Brian De Palma | Stars: Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, Steven Bauer, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio

Votes: 917,086 | Gross: $45.60M

This movie is a cult classic! At first people did not like Scarface, but over the years more and more people started to love it! Al Pacino was incredible in this movie. Some say he overacted, which maybe he did a little, but he did a fantastic job. The movie shows the rise of power by one man and what can lead you to your fall when your in the mob!

6. Pulp Fiction (1994)

95 Metascore

The lives of two mob hitmen, a boxer, a gangster and his wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption.

Director: Quentin Tarantino | Stars: John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis

Votes: 2,221,876 | Gross: $107.93M

Pulp Fiction is a amazing movie! Its not just a gangster movie either. Its about a number of individuals who get in these diffucult situations. It also shows these situations in a random sequence. Its not your typical gangster flick. Its really not your typical movie either which is why I love it and other people love it! Its different.

7. The Departed (2006)

85 Metascore

An undercover cop and a mole in the police attempt to identify each other while infiltrating an Irish gang in South Boston.

Director: Martin Scorsese | Stars: Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg

Votes: 1,423,090 | Gross: $132.38M

This is the movie that got me hook on watching gangster movies! Its not just a gangster flick either! Its a cop, crime, and drama movie. I loved the story and the premise of it. Its about 2 cops. One good cop who is undercover in the mafia and one bad cop who is actually a mole for the mob!

8. Carlito's Way (1993)

R | 144 min | Crime, Drama, Thriller

66 Metascore

Director: Brian De Palma | Stars: Al Pacino, Sean Penn, Penelope Ann Miller, John Leguizamo

Votes: 232,486 | Gross: $36.95M

Some people say this movie is actually better than Scarface, which I can see why they do! It was directed by the same director who did Scarface. Its about a guy who gets out of jail who basically wants to get out of the troubled life of a gangster, but gets in situations where he's pulled back in! This is another great gangster tale!

9. Road to Perdition (2002)

R | 117 min | Crime, Drama, Thriller

72 Metascore

Director: Sam Mendes | Stars: Tom Hanks, Tyler Hoechlin, Paul Newman

Votes: 284,634 | Gross: $104.45M

You don't usually think of Tom Hanks as a gangster either, but he pulls it off. It shows how versatile he is as an actor! But the movie is about a son who witnesses he's father and a guy murder these gangsters. After that happens, the other guy decides to kill the son and the father so they could never tell anyone about the murders. The father and the son go on the run from the mob and try to figure out what to do about the guys that are coming after them. This film should have been reconized by the oscars!

10. Casino (1995)

R | 178 min | Crime, Drama

73 Metascore

In Las Vegas, two best friends - a casino executive and a mafia enforcer - compete for a gambling empire and a fast-living, fast-loving socialite.

Director: Martin Scorsese | Stars: Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, Joe Pesci, James Woods

Votes: 564,371 | Gross: $42.44M

Another classic mob tale which is based on a true story by the way! Martin Scorsese directed this movie also! He is a man who knows how to do a gangster flick! Two other movies as you can see are on this list. But its about the rise and fall of the mob set in Las Vegas. The acting in this film was terrific and so was the story.
