1. M*A*S*H (1972–1983)

TV-PG | 25 min | Comedy, Drama, War

The staff of an Army hospital in the Korean War find that laughter is the best way to deal with their situation.

Stars: Alan Alda, Wayne Rogers, Loretta Swit, Jamie Farr

Votes: 63,830

Unarguably the best material ever produced on television. Especially the last 4 seasons are just amazing. Recommend it to anyone who is mature and responsible enough to understand that war is not a videogame and it's definetly something that deserves to be taken serious. Hats off!

2. Monk (2002–2009)

TV-PG | 44 min | Comedy, Crime, Drama

The series follows Adrian Monk, a brilliant former San Francisco detective, who now consults the police as a private consultant whilst battling with an obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Stars: Tony Shalhoub, Jason Gray-Stanford, Ted Levine, Traylor Howard

Votes: 88,851

Probably the funniest and at the same time the saddest show ever. It simply contains everything: Some episodes are rib-crushingly hilarious, others made me cry, you've got chasing scenes and crime investigation to keep it exciting, you've got Tony Shalhoub, a very talented actor, his assistant Sharona is hot and you attach yourself emotionally to the characters.

3. Seinfeld (1989–1998)

TV-PG | 22 min | Comedy

The continuing misadventures of neurotic New York City stand-up comedian Jerry Seinfeld and his equally neurotic New York City friends.

Stars: Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards, Jason Alexander

Votes: 351,713

How can you not love this show? Young people nowadays are too stupid to understand the brilliance of Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld. Every episode is carefully thought through, it's just great!

4. Friends (1994–2004)

TV-14 | 22 min | Comedy, Romance

Follows the personal and professional lives of six twenty to thirty year-old friends living in the Manhattan borough of New York City.

Stars: Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc

Votes: 1,088,680

Probably the second-funniest NBC-sitcom ever. I grew up with this show, I've been watching it when I was 7 and I would still watch it now. The reason, why I like this show is because unlike in the previously mentioned show, Seinfeld, the characters evolve and the relationships constantly change(well, except with Joey). It's funny, but in a different way.

5. Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000–2024)

TV-MA | 30 min | Comedy

Larry David stars as an over-the-top version of himself in this comedy series that shows how seemingly trivial details of day-to-day life can precipitate a catastrophic chain of events.

Stars: Larry David, Cheryl Hines, Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman

Votes: 147,564

Seinfeld co-creator Larry David returns with this remarkable and very eccentric show. A must-watch for any TV-enthusiast, who'd like to curb it.
