For a movie called "Vampires vs Zombies," there is very little here in the way of vampires fighting zombies. It's more like "Poorly written vampire story with pretty much no ending... and oh yeah, there's a few zombies here and there."

4. Crypt of the Living Dead (1973)

R | 75 min | Horror

Two archaeologists on a scientific dig come across a vampire burial ground and discover that the creatures are about to awaken and attack a nearby village.

Directors: Julio Salvador, Ray Danton | Stars: Andrew Prine, Mark Damon, Patty Shepard, Teresa Gimpera

Votes: 1,023

Fairly standard "Vampire is awakened from centuries of slumber and outsider learns that the superstitious locals were right all along" movie. Which is another one of those things that seems like it should be way too specific to be any kind of standard, and yet here we are. There are some interesting things going on, but it takes quite a while to actually get to them.

Votes: 99

A movie that is so unremarkable that despite watching it just last night, I can barely recall any of it. There was a vampire descendant of Nostradamus, he made predictions, killed some people, and was ultimately defeated, but that's about it

Votes: 6,002 | Gross: $0.03M

Dead of Night/Deathdream (1974)

A movie about a soldier who is killed in Vietnam, and then comes back as a vampire... for reasons! From there it's a pretty straightforward "Came back wrong" story that doesn't really have any kind of meaningful lore or story. There is a single line that does come dangerously close to trying to make a point, when the returned soldier says "I died for you Doc. Why shouldn't you return the favor?" but that is literally the only time that the concept is even brought up.

Director: David DeCoteau | Stars: Barbara Crampton, Jennifer Holland, Michelle Borth, Storm David Newton

Votes: 363

This is basically a soft-core porn... except with no sex or nudity... which I guess just makes it a very bad movie. On the plus side, the vampire sorority is Beta Alpha Tau... get it? βατ... like a bat... because they're vampires... that is, by a wide margin, the cleverest thing in this movie.

Director: Paolo Heusch | Stars: Barbara Lass, Carl Schell, Curt Lowens, Maurice Marsac

Votes: 1,313

Sometimes a movie's title tells you everything you need to know about it. This movie has a werewolf, and it has a girls' dormitory. Sure we never see the werewolf in the girls' dormitory, but that doesn't mean that they definitely weren't ever there. But beyond that, it's a pretty average werewolf movie, the girls' dormitory doesn't really factor into the story that much, zero lingerie pillowfights.

25. The Werewolf of Washington (1973)

PG | 90 min | Comedy, Horror

Reporter having affair with president's daughter sent to Hungary, bitten by wolf then transferred back to Washington where bodies appear.

Director: Milton Moses Ginsberg | Stars: Dean Stockwell, Katalin Kallay, Henry Ferrentino, Despo Diamantidou

Votes: 1,218

Something that definitely seems like it's supposed to be a comedy, but is distinctively not funny. It's hard to say if that's because the bulk of the comedy revolves around early-70s political satire which is not incredibly relevant outside of the early 70s, or if it's just not very good. My instincts tell me it's a combination of the two. Overall it mostly just ends up being a series of events occurring with barely anything holding them together.

26. The Werewolf Versus the Vampire Woman (1971)

R | 82 min | Horror

Elvira and her friend Genevieve travel through the French countryside in search of the lost grave of a medieval vampire, Countess Wandesa.

Director: León Klimovsky | Stars: Paul Naschy, Gaby Fuchs, Barbara Capell, Andrés Resino

Votes: 2,069

A movie that promises one thing, a werewolf versus a vampire woman, and delivers on that thing, plus a little more. However, it does at times feel a bit like it was just a scenario devised to facilitate that thing, rather than a story being told for its own merits.
