While it's easily one of the best made movies on my list, there's too much holding it back for me to even call it one of my favourites. I respect it for being a really well made and intelligent movie, and its message, but its probably my least favourite Kubrick movie (as great as all of his movies are, one has to be at the bottom).

I can't help it, I nearly wore out the VHS from watching this repeatedly throughout my childhood. It objectively gets a little too sappy/sentimental but I can't help but see it as a Christmas classic, right up there with other great Christmas cartoon specials, but I don't see this one getting any love like the others do (Charlie Brown, etc).
