Cursed was a very fitting title for the 2005 werewolf movie that reteamed Scream director Wes Craven with screenwriter Kevin Williamson, because studio meddling ensured that the project – which had a promising start – ended up being a mess that bombed at the box office. The journey to the screen began in the year 2000, when Williamson wrote a script about a New York-based serial killer who discovers he’s a werewolf. Dimension decided to have Sean Hood and Tony Gayton do rewrites, turning Cursed into the story of a late night TV associate producer who gets attacked by a werewolf after a car crash on Mulholland Drive. Days before Craven was set to go into production on Pulse, a remake of the Japanese horror film Kairo, Dimension pulled him off that project (it ended up being the feature directorial debut of music video director Jim Sonzero) and threw him onto Cursed, which...

A new episode of the Awfully Good Horror Movies video series has just been released, and in this one we’re taking a look at a movie that was supposed to be a happy reunion for Scream director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson… but it turned into a total mess. It’s the 2005 werewolf movie Cursed (watch it Here), and you can hear all about it by watching the video embedded above!
Craven and Williamson told the following story with this one: In Los Angeles, siblings Ellie and Jimmy come across an accident on Mulholland Drive. As they try to help the woman caught in the wreckage, a ferocious creature attacks them, devouring the woman and scratching the terrified siblings. They slowly discover that the creature was a werewolf and that they have fallen victim to a deadly curse. Now that they have been sliced by the werewolf’s claws,...

'Black Swan' movie with Natalie Portman. 'Black Swan' movie review: Darren Aronofsky's 'most mature' effort Darren Aronofsky has one of the most amazing talents for not only crafting impeccable works of fiction, but also for framing these works against the backdrop of worlds the average person will never be a part of. In Requiem for a Dream, he took a stylized and brutal eye to the dangerous world of drug addiction. In The Wrestler, he gave us a brilliant and tragic human story set in the world of professional wrestling. In Black Swan, he gives us the fascinating story of one person's psychological downward spiral within the world of professional ballet. Black Swan, arguably Aronofsky's best effort, was surely his most mature to date. 'Black Swan': Nina and her 'ballet mother' Mark Heyman, Andres Heinz, and John McLaughlin's screenplay tells the story of Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman...

Shock received word that the supernatural thriller Altergeist is specifically hitting DirectTV only on October 8th. Earlier this year, the film tried a "demand it" campaign to bring the film to theaters, but I did not hear whether that was a success or not.
Directed by Tedi Sarafian, Altergeist stars Kristina Anapau, Brendan Fletcher and Sarah Oh. You can check out a trailer here.

After six seasons, everyone's favorite barmaid, Tara Buck's Ginger on "True Blood," is going from a recurring player to a series regular for the show's seventh and final season.
Buck (pictured) made her debut as the character back in the second half of Season 1 (you remember... when the show still had some bite in it) and has been a fan favorite since.
Another familiar face got a similar promotion back toward the end of last year: Bailey Noble, who plays half-faerie Adilyn Bellefleur.
Noble joined the show in Season 6 as the only remaining child of human Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) and faerie Maurella (Kristina Anapau) after her three sisters were killed by Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll).
"True Blood" returns for its farewell season in June 2014.

When Nick needs someone to infiltrate a Wesen church on this week’s Grimm, he knows exactly where to turn first. After all, what’s the point of having a wolf on your team if you can’t throw him into the action every once in a while?

I’m going to skip all of the really bad caffeine related intro sentences popping in my mind and just go straight to tell you if you enjoy Adalind Schade on Grimm, you are going to be happy to learn that you will be seeing even more of her in season 2 of NBC’s supernatural cop, as Claire Coffee has been upgraded to a regular for the upcoming season. Coffee is the second Grimm actress to be promoted that I’ve heard of, following the earlier word on Bree Turner’s upped Grimm status.
Adalind was already a fixture in the show, having appeared in the majority of the first season’s episodes and being at least mentioned in almost every other. In fact, she is the first non-human that Nick ever sees. Grimm returns to NBC for round 2 this Friday and has had a really busy off-season of guest star announcements.

According to TVLine, another person with a connection to the Wesen will be appearing on Grimm later this season.
Jason Gedrick has signed on to play Craig Wendell, a murderer currently on his last days on death row. His defense at his trial was that the act was self-defense against the two monsters that attacked him, something that didn't hold water in court and made the man look mentally disturbed in addition to dangerously violent. However, now that Hank has been filled in about the Wesen and everything that Nick's been going through as a Grimm, it might not be too late to save the man from an untimely (and unjust) execution.
But can the two detectives find a loophole to let him go free without having to bring talk of monsters and shape-shifting into it?
In addition to Gedrick's upcoming role, which will feature in an episode this fall,...

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Halloween episode of NBC's Grimm has just added a dash of beauty in midst of all the chaos.
Kate del Castillo has signed on to appear on the supernatural procedural as Detective Valentina Marquez, who comes to Portland when the child abductor she's been tracking for years comes onto Nick and Hank's radar. The episode will reportedly be based on La Llorona ("The Weeping Woman"), a Mexican legend about a woman named Maria killing her children to be with a man. However, he rejects her and she commits suicide, ultimately spending the rest of eternity wandering the Earth in search of her children as punishment for her actions.
The actress joins an already strong slate of guest stars for Grimm, which has already attracted a plethora of quality appearances in its first 26 episodes. John Pyper-Ferguson (Alphas), Mark Pellegrino (Lost), and Maddie Hasson (The Finder...

Getting a little Grimm at Boomtron for a minute with this peek into the upcoming second season of NBC’s supernatural/cop show which actually kicks back off tonight. It is not of the show’s star (David Giuntoli) or partner (Russell Hornsby), or even Nick’s girl, instead it’s a scene featuring on of the Grimm’s season 2 guest stars. Back in June we told you Mark Pellegrino would be turning up in Grimm, which makes total sense because he seemingly has to be in every speculative fiction program. He’s just making his rounds.
Specifically, this image, which debuted via TVline, is tagged as from the third episode of the season, titled “Bad Moon Rising”. Pellegrino looks pretty animated here (and I guess drives a Dodge), playing a high school friend of Hank (the aforementioned Hornsby) named Jarold Kempfer, who as we told you before is also a coyotl.

“Save Yourself” Air Date: 8/26/12
Alan Ball sure goes out with a bang fang. There’s not much I can say about this episode without ruining it, but let’s just say there are a ton of deaths (including two of the coolest of the show), surprises and vampires “popping,” beginning from the start with a purposefully anti-climactic scene and shocking pre-opening credits scene.
Storylines finally collide, with Bill & Luna shifting like mad to try and save Luna’s daughter and were-puppy Emma from the clutches of Steve Newlin and the Vampire Authority, while Eric, Nora, Sookie, Jason and Tara bring the offensive to the Authority in an attempt to free Pam and Jessica while trying to “save” Bill from the rapture of Lilith. The whole thing is all very exhilarating.
Meanwhile, there two subplots dangling. Alcide and his Dad are forced to make a move on J.D.’s...

As her stint on "True Blood" as Maurella, a fairy, ends, Kristina Anapau is heading to another genre show, having been cast in Episode 2.05 of NBC's "Grimm" as a different type of creature, a Seelengut. Read on for the details and a full synopsis of the ep, titled "The Good Shepherd."
Per TVLine, in the installment — loosely based on the fable about a wolf in sheep’s clothing — Anapau (Black Swan, Cornered) will play Megan Marston, a quiet, sheepish secretary working at a Wesen church who is actually a sheep-like creature dubbed a Seelengut. Despite her reserved nature, Megan is in an intimate relationship with the church’s Blutbad reverend.

A smart thing for shows of the supernatural genre, like Grimm, is to look at similar shows when casting. True Blood has been having fun with Kristina Anapau as the fairy Maurella, but that show is almost over and Anapau will need a new gig. As I said, it’s wise for Grimm to bring in actors who have experience with the supernatural, and you can’t get more supernatural than True Blood – with Supernatural being the obvious exception. Knowing Anapau will appear on Grimm is just the first step, with the second being learning exactly what she will be playing: a dragonfly? How about a rhinoceros?
Grimm’s long list of Wesen is expanding to include the sheep-like creature, the Seelengut. Anapau will of course be playing this Seelengut, going by the name Megan Marston, a quiet, sheepish (punny) secretary at a Wesen church. The episode, the fifth of the second season,...

According to TVLine, Grimm will be heading from the forest to the pulpit in an upcoming episode that will feature Kristina Anapau (True Blood). True Blood Finale Spoilers Revealed
HBO Has released the episode descriptions for the last few episodes of this season of True Blood, and they sound absolutely fantastic. For starters, what about having Eric playing hero this year? Much better than that love-struck puppy routine, that's for sure. With humanity and the Authority at the brink of war, though, Eric certainly makes for an unlikely savior given his history on True Blood. Not that we should mistrust him, but his more mature stance through this whole crisis might have been the one good thing to come out of his relationship with Sookie. Is there hope for them after all?

It's a horror hottie double news explosion here in the Horror Asylum's pants right now. Michelle Rodriguez ('Machete', 'Resident Evil') and Kristina Anapau ('Black Swan', 'Cursed') are the latest hot-pots on Ted Sarafian's new spooky feature 'Sighting'. The haunted house ghost hunt project is yet another addition to the ever-increasing barrel of 'found-footage'-esque horror features which, if not reigned in a little, could become a bit overkill. Starring alongside our two lovely ladies are David Weidoff, Brendan Fletcher and Sarah Oh. Check out the plot and the yummy twosome below....

Michelle Rodriguez has faced zombies, driven amazingly fast cars, helped save the world from an alien invasion, and tackled Machete with literally one eye open! There's not much left for her to do that could be considered pretty cool. Unless of course you set her up against evil spirits!
That's right, kids, shooting right now is the new cinéma vérité style spooker Sighting! The flick stars Rodriguez (pictured right) along with Kristina Anapau (Cursed, Black Swan), David Weidoff, Brendan Fletcher (Freddy vs Jason, Rampage) and Sarah Oh.
Sighting, from writer-director Tedi Sarafian, takes us to "King's Ransom Winery, one of the most haunted places in America, with a long history of bizarre suicides. Six ghost hunters have been given the rare opportunity to conduct a paranormal investigation. What they discover terrifies them."

The folks over at What's Playing have managed to talk with a couple of sources close to the production of Zack Snyder's Superman, including actress Kristina Anapau, who recently reveled interest & hints that she auditioned for the female lead. The site also spoke to their WB "contact", who offers a bit of an update. Firstly, chatting with actress Kristina Anapau, she says: “I don’t know what I can tell you - you’re very warm…all of the names on your previous list were or are still in the running for this role last I heard. They’re swaying between big names and smaller names. I can’t tell you specifics of the role - I don’t know what I can say, sorry”. Black Swan actress Kristina Anapau has hinted she's in the running to play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's new Superman movie after confessing she has auditioned for a comic book movie role and then cooing about the 300 director.
Anapau has refused to reveal full details, but tells ComicBookMovie.com she is interested in playing the Man of Steel's love interest.
And that could put her up against Black Swan co-star Mila Kunis, who is also reportedly up for the role.
The actress says, "It's a great character and a great project. I'd love to be a part of it. I'm a big fan of Zack Snyder's work.
"Lois is intelligent and strong, while never losing an ounce of femininity. She's a great role model for girls out there today. Not passive and helpless, yet not an imitation of man."
Asked if she had auditioned for the Lois Lane role, Anapau insisted she was not "at liberty" to say, but when she was asked if she had ever tried out for a superhero film role, she said, "Absolutely. Never signed onto one. Yet, that is."
