Imelda Staunton reveals that plans are afoot for Downton Abbey 3, that might just be shooting before the end of the year.
It looks like the very posh curtains are falling on Downton Abbey, with the news that a third film is set to happen. A third and final film as it happens.
The new film will pick up after the events of 2022’s Downton Abbey: A New Era. That was the movie that explored the infancy of cinema against the backdrop of notable changes for the characters of the Very Posh House. There had been inevitable questions after the release of that as to whether a Downton Abbey 3 would happen, but now Imelda Staunton has let the cat out of the bag.
Chatting to Zoe Ball on BBC Radio Two, Staunton told Ball that “there will be a final film”. The question came into reports and rumour as to a further movie,...

Keep reading to find out what she revealed…
“There will be the final film – there you go,” Imelda told BBC Radio 2′s Zoe Ball, via Deadline.
After Zoe joked that she hoped Imelda wouldn’t get in trouble for the reveal, the actress stated, “I don’t care.”
A recent report suggests that filming will begin this summer at Highclere Castle in Hampshire, England, where the show has taken place all these years.
There’s also another report that claims Paul Giamatti will reprise his one episode role of Harold Levinson in the third movie.
None of these reports have been confirmed by Focus Features, who produces the films, at the time of this post.

Downton Abbey is getting a “final” chapter, according to Imelda Staunton.
The actress, who played Queen Mary’s lady-in-waiting Lady Maud Bagshaw in the first two films, has confirmed reports that a third movie is in the works.
Asked about Downton Abbey rumors by BBC Radio 2 breakfast show host Zoe Ball, Staunton said: “There will be the final film – there you go.”
Ball joked that she hoped Staunton was not going to get into trouble for the revelation, to which the actress replied: “I don’t care.”
Julian Fellowes’ wildly successful period drama started life as a television series on ITV in 2011. It went on to spawn six seasons and two movies, helping put British drama on the map internationally.
Staunton’s comments followed a report in The Sun on Wednesday, which claimed that the third movie will film at Highclere Castle over the summer and premiere next year.

UK ska band Madness have announced their 13th album, Theatre of the Absurd Presents C’Est La Vie, out November 17th via BMG. As a preview, they’ve shared three songs from the project. Stream the tracks below.
Theatre of the Absurd marks the first album from Madness since 2016’s Can’t Touch Us Now. It was recorded in Cricklewood, London at the beginning of this year, where members Graham “Suggs” McPherson, Mark Bedford, Chris “Chrissy Boy” Foreman, Mike “Barso” Barson, Lee Thompson, and Dan “Woody” Woodgate found harmony alongside engineer and mixer Matt Galsbey.
Tying the 14 songs together is a prologue from actor (and longtime fan) Martin Freeman that runs throughout the album. Pre-orders for Theatre of the Absurd are ongoing. See the artwork and full tracklist below.
“Our thirteenth album (lucky for some) Theatre of the Absurd Presents C’Est La Vie is ready for your ears,” Madness said in a statement.

Noel Gallagher, who is best known as the lead singer of the British rock band Oasis, has been banned from driving for six months after it came to light that he never had proper driving lessons.
The ban took place after he did not give information about the driver of his Range Rover.
The now High Flying Birds frontman told Radio 2’s Zoe Ball earlier this year that a driving lesson in the 1990s saw him mobbed by fans.
Talking about his experience of dealing with a mob, he said: ‘I’m in a red Nissan Micra with a massive great big triangle on the top of it with an L, with all these kids coming out, the Daily Mail reported.
Shortly after the first incident, Gallagher’s Range Rover was caught speeding again, this time at 11mph over the speed limit. He was ordered to pay £742, a £536 victim surcharge,...

Paul O’Grady has expressed his “disappointment” with BBC Radio 2, saying “it’s not what it was”.
The broadcaster’s comments come after the news that veteran DJ Ken Bruce was leaving the station after 45 years to go to Greatest Hits Radio.
InJanuary, when Bruce announced his departure, former Radio 2 DJ Vanessa feltz accused the BBC of “ageism”.
Now, O’Grady, who left Radio 2 in 2021 after being asked to share his slot with comedian Rob Beckett, has explained the motivation behind his decision.
“I was disappointed, because I’m a great believer in continuity,” he told Metro.co.uk, adding: “If you go off for 13 weeks and somebody else comes on, the listeners don’t know when you’re back on.”
He continued: “Radio 2 has changed; it’s not what it was. They’re trying to aim for a much younger audience, which doesn’t make sense because you’ve got Radio 1.

Ken Bruce has claimed that BBC bosses have hastened his exit from Radio 2.
Last month, Bruce announced he would leave the corporation after 45 years to host a show on commercial rival, Greatest Hits Radio.
The veteran presenter, 72, has been on the BBC station since 1984, but told listeners in January: “I’ve done everything it is possible to do at Radio 2.”
He has hosted the 9:30am to 12pm weekday show since 1990, and been with the BBC since 1977 when he started out as a presenter on Radio Scotland.
His decision comes after Steve Wright was nudged out his Radio 2 afternoon slot, with Simon Mayo, Graham Norton and Paul O’Grady also moving on in recent months.
“I would stress that this is entirely my decision,” he said at the time. “I will always be very proud of my association with the BBC and Radio 2.”
But in a new tweet posted on Friday 24 February,...

Kay, 48, will succeed Bruce as host of the mid-morning show when he leaves this spring.
The presenter will launch the new show in May.
Speaking about his appointment, Kay said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to be handed the microphone to present the mid-morning show on Radio 2, and what an honour to follow in the footsteps of the mighty Ken Bruce.

The “Shape of You” singer has shared few personal posts on Instagram in recent years, but ended his break on Tuesday (31 January) with a selfie video.
In the video, which Sheeran captioned: “Back in the bitz,” he addressed fans directly and promised to be making more personal posts on the platform going forward.
“Hi guys, so I realise I haven’t been that engaged in my social media or my fan base online over the last couple of years,” he said, before whispering into the camera: “And the things that have been posted on this account might have got a bit boring. I’m sorry, it’s my fault.”
Sheeran then went on to explain why he had been absent from the platform for so long.

Johnny Knoxville has responded to Hulu’s decision to scrap Reboot after just one season.
The meta-comedy from creator Steven Levitan – his first project since Modern Family – ironically followed Hulu’s decision to reboot its former hit 2000s sitcom Step Right Up, forcing the cast to reconcile and settle their unresolved issues.
Knoxville starred alongside Judy Greer, Keegan-Michael Key and Calum Worthy as the show’s original cast, with Rachel Bloom as the millennial writer behind the reboot idea.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I say that despite getting great reviews and being nominated for a Critics Choice Award, Hulu has failed to pick up Reboot even for a second season,” the Jackass star posted on Instagram.
“Pretty unbelievable,” Knoxville added. “It’s not over yet though, as we tend to shop it around and hopefully it will find a home with a studio who believes in and...

The actor played Daphne Bassett, the eldest Bridgerton daughter, in the first two seasons of the hit Netflix period drama.

Now, in a red carpet interview with ScreenRant, Dynevor revealed that her character would not be featuring in the next season of Bridgerton.
However, she did give fans of the character reason to hope – suggesting that she could yet return to the series in future.
“Sadly not in season three,” Dynevor said. “Potentially in the future. But season three, I’m just excited to watch as a viewer.”

The 1975 frontman Matty Healy appeared to do a Nazi salute on stage during a recent performance.
The band – behind hits such as “Robbers” and “It’s Not Living” – are currently on tour.
During one performance, video of which has circulated online, Healy, 33, appeared to perform a Nazi salute while marching on the spot.
He made the action during a performance of The 1975’s song “Love it If We Made It”, as he sang the lyrics: “Thank you, Kanye, very cool.”
Kanye West has found himself recently embroiled in controversy over a number of antisemitic remarks. He has consequently been dropped by French fashion house Balenciaga.
The Independent has contacted a representative of Healy’s for comment.
His actions have sparked controversy online, with fans of the band condemning the singer. Others, however, have claimed that he was being “satirical” and “mocking” West over the rapper’s antisemetic statements.
