As “The Walking Dead” wraps up its seventh season, the show’s producers are already looking ahead at next year – and promising a bit of a reset.
“The [first episode of Season 8] is the 100th episode,” executive producer Scott Gimple told fans on Friday evening at the show’s PaleyFest panel in Hollywood. “The first episode is less about the fact that we reached 100, and more about setting up the next 100 episodes. The end of this season is very much the end of a chapter. The conclusion promises this epic story ahead.”
Gimple and his team are currently writing the season opener, which he reiterated set up “this epic tale to come, not just in Season 8 but beyond.”
That’s as close to a spoiler as the notoriously tight-lipped “The Walking Dead” executive producers would get about the show’s future.

If I wrote you a symphony/Just to say what you mean to me (what would you do?)Justin Timberlake has stated in the past that the lyrics to his song “My Love” represent a humble approach to love itself. Jonathan Demme’s approach in Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids, his concert documentary of the final show of Timberlake’s 20/20 Experience tour in 2015, is to take this concept and expand upon it. “Love,” in this concert film, is not between individuals, nor between an individual and a group, but rather is a fully utopic vision within a single, musical space in Las Vegas’s MGM Grand. Within this space, Timberlake does not perform as much as react: the audience loves him, and he loves them back. It is Demme’s inspiration to take this premise and run with it, that everybody is a part of the show. In this sense,...

A few weeks ago, Batman: Dead End and Hunter Prey director Sandy Collora launched a Kickstarter campaign for a short film called Shallow Water, which will be the first part of a retro horror/sci-fi anthology feature film he plans on making.
There are only a few days left to get this thing funded and every little bit will help. It's so damn close, and it would be a complete and utter shame if this movie didn't get made. We've really gotta support the talented indie filmmakers out there who are trying to bring something new, different, cool, and unique into the world — especially when it involves genres that we love like this.

Sandy Collora, the man behind Batman: Dead End, one of the greatest fan films ever made, is developing an awesome-sounding new short film project called "Shallow Water." The movie is described as a “gritty, intense short film, introducing a new and terrifying aquatic creature.” This will be the first short in a retro horror/sci-fi anthology feature film that he will be developing over the next couple of years, and he's started a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the project.
I’m a huge fan of anthology films, and this sounds like it will be amazing! This is the kind of stuff I love to see get made, and with the level of talent that’s behind it, there’s no doubt in my mind that it’s going to deliver something incredible! Below you'll find a synopsis and more information on the project:

Today being international jazz day, there will be much celebrating of the greatness of its history. I’ve done that in the past; it is a great history. But it is not all back in historical times; jazz lives, and evolves, and continues to be great. Yet how many lists of the greatest jazz albums include anything from the current century?
That they do not is no indictment of them; only sixteen percent of the years when recorded jazz has existed (not counting the present year yet) are in the twenty-first century, after all, and some prefer to bestow the label of greatness after more perspective has been achieved than sixteen (or fewer, for newer releases) years.
Nonetheless, if people are to respect jazz as a living art form, a look back at the best of its more recent releases seems worthwhile. Here’s one man’s “baker’s dozen...

Chicago – Like improvisational jazz, the performance career of Don Cheadle has many moods, directions and shadings. For his latest film, he takes on the titles of co-writer and director, along with the lead role of music legend Miles Davis. This all comes together is the aptly titled “Miles Ahead.”
Cheadle applies a different kind of music biography spin, with a centerpiece story about Davis that operates as a mythical framework for the musician’s life story, told in a loose flashback format. The cinematic structure is jazzy and kinetic, and it moves forward with an energy all of its own, driven by the frenetic soundtrack of the man himself. As a director, Cheadle has crafted something outside the norm, a visual blend that could be at home within the florid sweep of a Miles Davis composition.

During my first year at university, I met up with some other Doctor Who fans. This was 2007, when Tennant-mania was starting to overwhelm Britain and a then-45-year-old show was inexplicably the height of cool. After drinks and awkward small talk in the student bar, we turned to the question. The question you ask whenever you meet another fan. The question that’s hidden in plain sight...
No, not “Doctor Who?” Not even ‘who’s your favorite Doctor?’ Rather: “What’s your favorite episode?”
As we went around the group, the obvious candidates were named: Blink, Human Nature, Dalek, Utopia. Titles that are hallowed in the annals of Nu-Who history. Finally, it was my turn to contribute.

French techno virtuoso Gesaffelstein has become a hot commodity over the past year or so not only due to his unique, avant-garde sound, but also his high-profile tie-ins – and his soundtrack for French film drama Maryland (which also goes by the title Disorder) will make for a novel means of putting his music in the ears of an even wider audience. After a momentous countdown, he’s released the first track from the effort in the form of “A Pledge.”
The track features Gesaffelstein’s distinctly French take on the less-is-more sensibilities of second-wave Detroit techno artists like Richie Hawtin. Sound design elements that are but a step up from midi quality tell a seven-minute story of serene dissonance, building to a suspenseful peak before feathering back down into the shadows.

Read More: Ezra Miller and Michael Angarano on the Dark Side of Human Nature in 'The Stanford Prison Experiment' Kyle Patrick Alvarez's "The Stanford Prison Experiment" is the kind of drama that leaves you anguished with questions once the credits roll. Based on the infamous 1971 experiment by Dr. Philip Zimbardo, the film chillingly recounts the turmoil and violence that gradually erupted when 24 male students were split into guards and prisoners so that Dr. Zimbardo could study the psychological effects of imprisonment. All of the ethically challenging questions that surrounded the project so many decades ago are alive and well in Alvarez' dramatization, which makes the movie quite a tormenting experience. Luckily for the crowd at the drama's New York City premiere Wednesday night at Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas, some of the film's more polarizing issues were explored as Dr. Zimbardo joined Alvarez and cast members Ezra Miller,...

There is a walker stumbling through what looks like the hallway of an abandoned building, with more walker silhouettes ominously pushing on the window behind him. Can we still fear anything after watching the cast of "Walking Dead" take on more zombies than we can count? Robert Kirkman, co-writer of the original comics and creator and executive producer on "Fear the Walking Dead," assured future audiences that the show will be a new and exciting take on the epidemic that ravages America in the pilot episode of "The Walking Dead." The first issue releases Wednesday August 12, supported by the global “Doctor Who Comics Day” on Saturday August 15th.
Writer Paul Cornell has penned classic episodes from the Doctor Who TV series (‘Father’s Day’, ‘Human Nature/Family of Blood’, both Hugo-nominated), classic Doctor Who novels, as well as successful comic book runs on titles such as Wolverine, Action Comics, Demon Knights, and Captain Britain and Mi:13.
The event follows straight on from...

Always popular with the ladies, Drake ended up as the target of Madonna’s affections during his set at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Sunday night (April 12).
The handsome musician invited Madge to join him on stage for his song “Madonna,” and afterwards she sang parts of “Human Nature and “Hung Up” before strutting over to him and making out with him for a good 10 seconds.
As she strolled off the stage, the Material Girl declared, “I’m Madonna, b*tch,” and Drake exclaimed, “Holy sh*t! What the f*ck just happened?!” Fans took to Twitter with comments like, “That was uncalled for @Madonna,” and, “Madonna wins again.”...

Drake was left wondering “what the f–k just happened” at Coachella on Sunday after Madonna finished a medley of songs during his set by surprising him with a kiss on the lips. The Queen of Pop joined the rapper on stage to perform his new song, “Madonna,” and sang a few of her own, including “Human Nature,” “Hung Up” and “Bitch I’m Madonna.” The kiss, however, isn’t what has people talking on social media. Drake‘s reaction does. See video: Madonna Makes Her Stand-Up Comedy Debut on ‘The Tonight Show’ After he attempted to put his hand...

Madonna and Drake joined forces for a Coachella performance, but things may not have gone as the rapper planned. On Sunday, Drake reportedly introduced Madonna during his set with a rendition of his song inspired by her, aptly titled "Madonna." Soon, the icon sang her '90s jam "Human Nature" and danced on Drake as he leaned back in a cabaret chair. And then she took control, wrapping her arms around him and leaning in for a kiss that makes her racy moment with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera look tame. Unlike those headline-grabbing kisses at the 2003 MTV VMAs, Madonna may not have gotten the reaction she wanted. "What the f*ck just happened?" Drake reportedly said with a laugh. The look on his face matched the sentiment: Drake leaned over and put his hand on his mouth. As for Madonna, she walked off stage while saying, "I'm Madonna." Watch...

Sunday night, Drake closed out Coachella 2015's first weekend with a headlining set. Things started out well (albeit 30 minutes late), and he was running through his hits with his woes — er, fans — until things took a drastic turn for the worse. As rumored, Madonna made a surprise appearance for the jungle-themed performance of "Madonna" (seriously, there was a waterfall and campfire). It began on a high note: Madge threw it back to 1994's "Human Nature," then went onto a more recent hit, "Hung Up." Then, out of nowhere, Drake took a seat on a chair center stage, and it became suddenly apparent that things were about to get "Anaconda"-level uncomfortable. And boy, did they:The kiss started out fairly tame. Maybe it'll just be a quick smooch, we all hoped. Even Drake seemed pretty into it. Here he is, momentarily forgetting Madonna wears a weave and trying to...

Dreams do come true! Last month, Madonna dished to Us Weekly exclusively about her secret crush on Drake, and last night, she finally got her moment with the rapper. The Queen of Pop, 56, made a surprise appearance at the Coachella Music Festival on Sunday, April 12, taking the stage in Indio, Calif. during Drake's performance of his single "Madonna." She turned up the heat on the headliner, 28, as she sang "Human Nature," a single off of her 1994 album Bedtime Stories. The moment started innocently enough, [...]...

The world of Doctor Who has changed greatly in the space of just 10 years. The cast and crew have almost completely been replaced since 2005, including a number of new actors to play the errant Time Lord and his companions.
But what has happened to the class of '05? Where are Rose and Mickey now? What is the writer of 'Dalek' up to? And where can you see more work from the director of 'Rose'?
Here it is then, your guide to the main players of Doctor Who series one.
The Cast
After his three-month on-screen stint as the Doctor, Christopher Eccleston's career continued in much the same vein, taking in theatre, interesting television roles and the odd blockbuster.
Post-2005, the Northern actor went Stateside to take on the role of invisible man Claude in the Us series Heroes. From there, he popped up in a very amusing Doctor Who-esque cameo as Dr.

We've already got Team Rita and Team Will all ready for the live shows on The Voice UK, but of course that's only half the story! Yep, Ricky Wilson and Sir Tom Jones also had to cut down their teams from eight acts to just three, and what better way to do it than with some more knockouts?
The hopefuls each had to pick a song to convince their coaches to keep them in the competition, and given the strength of the field, it all got pretty intense. Having just about recovered, we've managed to bring you all the gossip, so read on for everything you need to know about tonight's show...

We're not sure how anyone managed to concentrate on their knockout rehearsals after Ricky's frankly bizarre dancing, which is apparently intended to relieve nerves. It's certainly... distracting. But somehow they did, so after Ricky had told...

The Voice UK coaches Ricky Wilson and Sir Tom Jones have picked their teams for the upcoming live shows.
The duo each had to cut back their teams from eight acts to three in tonight's Knockouts episode, as the hopefuls all performed a song of their choice to convince their coaches to keep them in the competition.
Emmanuel Nwamadi, Stevie McCrorie and Autumn Sharif won places in the live shows on Team Ricky, while Sir Tom chose to carry on with Sasha Simone, Lara Lee and Howard Rose.
Nwamadi was speechless when Wilson chose him after his performance of Otis Redding's 'I've Been Loving You Too Long', while a shocked McCrorie - who impressed with his take on 'Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' - dropped to his knees with joy, but was later picked up by his friend in celebration.

Despite being a television creation, our favourite time lord has had a long association with the printed page. More than one fan over the years has revealed that they discovered Doctor Who through reading the popular Target novelisations of the television series, rather the onscreen original. When the series went into its long sixteen year hiatus in the nineties however, the Doctor Who novel really came of age, at first under the aegis of Virgin Publishing, and later under BBC Books’ own imprint. Although the novels carried over many of the same authors between companies.
By the time the programme came back in 2005, the Doctor had enjoyed well over 200 adventures across his many incarnations, and several writers would eventually create stories for the new series, including Gareth Roberts and Paul Cornell. So far Cornell is only writer to have seen his own novel Human Nature realised as a television adventure,...

Confirming recently circulating rumors, the BBC announced today that Nick Frost will guest-star in this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special.

Peter Capaldi is far from the only Doctor Who actor to appear in multiple roles. Mark talks us through the many others to have done so...
It's been just over a year since the BBC announced that Peter Capaldi would play the Twelfth Doctor. There were rumblings of his casting in the week before the announcement was made, to the point where bookies stopped taking bets on it.
We've spent the last twelve months in anticipation of what seems like dream casting for the Time Lord, but some of us were a little sceptical that an actor of his profile and standing would take the role until it was actually announced, but “he's been in it before” was not atop the list of reasons why we thought it was too good to be true.
Over the course of 50 years, Doctor Who has inevitably reused actors as different characters- there are...

Read the previous part in this series: the film careers of Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant, here.
By 2009, the new version of Doctor Who had become not only an integral part of Saturday night television and a huge Christmas ratings winner but also an international success all over again. David Tennant, who had played the Time Lord since 2005 and was, arguably, more popular than any Doctor since the mighty Tom Baker hung up his scarf in 1981, had announced his resignation from the part he loved in October 2008. Many wondered how the incoming showrunner, Steven Moffat, would follow Tennant and what kind of show would emerge.
Tennant spent much of 2009 on stage in Hamlet and was only able to devote small amounts of time to Doctor Who. Occasional specials...

When Glee first debuted in 2009, the Fox series incorporated music in a way that hadn’t been seen on television before. Without any big-name stars in the cast, the show was a definite risk. Now, more than five years and 100 episodes later, the risk has more than paid off. With a 3-D film, sold-out concert tours, millions of albums sold, and Billboard records broken, the cast and crew got together in Hollywood on Tuesday night — the same night the show’s 100th episode aired – with plenty to celebrate. From washer women to harlequins via milkmen, Alex looks back over the Doctor's penchant for disguise over the decades...
So, we've finally had our first glimpse of Peter Capaldi in his new Doctor Who costume. My personal opinion for the record: It's functional yet stylish and could be the basis of something more elaborate over time. Importantly though, it is a bold statement of exactly who this new Doctor is. Identity is important to the Doctor, whether developing his own or assuming that of another to defeat his opponents in his continuing quest to bring his own brand of humanity to the universe.
With that in mind, let's revisit our favourite Time Lord's ability to disguise himself in order to outwit his opponents. I should state at the outset this isn't a definitive list of every disguise the character has worn. Every Doctor has...
