James Cameron’s True Lies has long been regarded as a classic action-comedy, blending heart-pounding thrills with laugh-out-loud humor. With its recent release in stunning 4K resolution, this beloved film receives a visual upgrade that breathes new life into its explosive action sequences and vibrant cinematography.
Originally released in 1994, True Lies stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Harry Tasker, a seemingly ordinary computer salesman who leads a double life as a top-secret government agent. Tasker’s world is turned upside down when his wife, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, becomes unwittingly entangled in his espionage activities, leading to a series of high-octane adventures across the globe.

The 10 Things I Hate About You cast probably didn’t know it then, but the actors in the 1999 teen rom-com would get their breakout role. In the 25 years since its release, 10 Things I Hate About You has become a cult classic and a career highlight for its actors.
On the surface, 10 Things I Hate About You doesn’t sound like a recipe for success. A William Shakespeare play reworked into a teen comedy featuring a cast of mostly unknown actors? Critics didn’t fall head over heels for it in 1999, but the movie’s appeal has grown over time and attracted new generations of fans (even if sequel plans failed). And if the 10 Things I Hate About You cast was unknown then, now there is no mistaking the talent of stars like Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

With the recent reveal of the brand new spin-off series NCIS: Europe, Mark Harmon appears to not be over his longstanding feud with his former co-star.
NCIS is one of the longest-running shows in television history. With over 450 episodes, the military police procedural has spanned across three separate decades. With that much history packed into one TV show, there is bound to be an on-set beef or two. For NCIS, Mark Harmon’s feud with Michael Weatherly was so prominent, that it appears to still be ongoing.
According to a source familiar with the former co-stars’ working relationship, Harmon still has very little patience for Weatherly’s behavior. “As far as he’s [Harmon] concerned, Michael is a toxic pain in the butt,” the source told Closer. “He’s nothing but trouble.” Even after years apart, Harmon still “considers Michael a loose cannon.”

Legendary country star Dolly Parton was an uncredited executive producer on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series, as the show came from her production company Sandollar Productions, which she co-founded with her former manager, Sandy Gallin. So if there’s anyone who should have an idea of what’s going on with the Buffy reboot that was announced some years back, it’s Dolly – and she said it’s still in the works.
Five and a half years have gone by since it was announced that a reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was in development with Monica Owusu-Breen, co-creator of the TV show Midnight, Texas, writing, executive producing, and serving as showrunner. It was said that the new show would be “contemporary, building on the mythology of the original”. "True Lies" is a uniquely '90s movie. The action-comedy features "Roseanne" star Tom Arnold, "Wayne's World" breakout Tia Carrere, and "Terminator" action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger, plus Bill Paxton and Jamie Lee Curtis. While Curtis is, of course, a recent Oscar winner, Paxton passed away in 2017, and the remaining lead actors haven't exactly been headlining many major blockbusters of late. It's also commonly cited as the first movie to cost over $100 million to make, a figure that feels extremely quaint when compared to today's bloated budgets.
Despite the inherent '90s-ness of "True Lies," rumors constantly persist about a sequel to the movie. Writer-director James Cameron is obviously a little busy these days with the "Avatar" sequels, but is there a chance he could ever return to the world of secret agent Harry Tasker? If not, might another filmmaker rise to the challenge and make "True Lies 2" happen? Here's everything...

Don't let the title fool you: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" isn't the only one of her kind. The "Slayer" line goes back millennia, and when one falls, another young girl is called on by destiny. In the season 1 finale, "Prophecy Girl," Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) briefly dies but is revived. The writers took advantage of that technicality in season 2 to introduce another slayer, Kendra (Bianca Lawson) — but she met a swift end.
Enter Faith Lehane (no relation to Dennis) in season 3, played by Eliza Dushku and sharing her actress' Boston origins. Her name is a virtue, but Faith is a rebel — so much so, she bounces from ally to enemy and then back again. In an interview with "Buffy" writers and producers, they discussed how, from the beginning, Faith was meant to be a "psycho" Slayer who would be a foil for Buffy. Marti Noxon called her Buffy's "shadow self,...

Tru Calling arrived on the small screen at a pivotal time for fans of genre fare in 2003.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer had just ended, so there was a desire from networks to get its most recognizable cast on new projects.
Eliza Dushku could have continued playing Buffy's onetime adversary in a planned spinoff, but instead of choosing the predictable, the actress opted to take a hard left turn to steer her career in a different direction.
The series starred Dushku as Tru Davies, a young woman who takes a job at a morgue when her internship falls through.
Yes, there's far more to the plot than that, with the unique spin that found the deceased waking up from the dead and asking her to help them.
That allowed Tru to relive the day to find out what happened to them and to try to change the events.

NCIS fans know no one can replace Michael Weatherly as Anthony D. “Tony” Dinozzo, Jr. Weatherly played the special agent in the series for over 300 episodes from 2003 to 2016, and the casting directors knew from the start that Weatherly was the top choice to play Dinozzo. So, what has Weatherly been in since leaving NCIS behind? Here’s what to know.
What has ‘NCIS’ star Michael Weatherly starred in since his exit?
Michael Weatherly was a leading star in NCIS, but he couldn’t stay on the show forever. Tony Dinozzo was last featured in 2016, and he left off by deciding to focus on raising the daughter he had with Ziva David. Showrunner Gary Glasberg spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about Weatherly’s retirement from the series.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" remains one of the great TV shows, at least in part because of its supporting characters. The series boasted a supporting cast that became as popular and beloved as the titular slayer herself. Whether it's the Scoobies, David Boreanez's Angel, or the hugely-popular character that was originally supposed to be killed off early, Spike (James Marsters), one of the series' great strengths was the fact that its central character was, at least by the series' end, essentially one of many protagonists.
"Buffy" debuted on the WB back in 1997, but by 1999 Angel had proven popular enough to get his own spin-off, with "Angel" airing on the same network that year. In that first season of the spin-off show, Buffy's former beau is joined by Eliza Dushku's Faith, another slayer who was "called" following the death of Kendra, yet another slayer "called" after Buffy temporarily died in season one.

Have you ever bought something impulsively and realized that you probably should have thought it through? I know I have. But, I’m just a nobody, I’m not a major network that can pour thousands upon thousands of dollars into a TV show before they think it through. Networks can make some boneheaded moves. I can see some shows that would make you question the intelligence of network executives. Hell, I covered one of my “what were they thinking” shows in a past episode – Cop Rock!
But unlike those other shows, the show I want to talk about was actually good! It’s just that it wound up causing the network a lot of headaches. I am talking about an excellent Joss Whedon little-known project called Dollhouse. This show was awesome. It had amazing actors, great action, and insane twists. But it also touched on some pretty icky themes...

Alyson Hannigan was brilliant in the role of Willow Rosenberg on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series, which ran for a total of seven seasons and 144 episodes, beginning in 1997 and wrapping up in 2003… But she didn’t join the show until the pilot was reshot, replacing the previously cast Riff Regan as Willow. And during an interview with Shut Up Evan, Melanie Lynskey confirmed that she was also a potential Willow.
Interviewer Evan Ross Katz had been told by Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar that the show’s creator Joss Whedon had envisioned Lynskey (only known from Heavenly Creatures at the time) as Willow when he was writing the pilot script, but Lynskey, who is from New Zealand, couldn’t audition because there was an issue with her visa. James Cameron got his start in the film industry doing visual-effects work for low-budget sci-fi movies like “Galaxy of Terror” and “Battle Beyond the Stars,” but it didn’t take long for his wizardry to land him behind the camera. Within just a few films, Cameron put his stamp on the whole industry, crafting oft-imitated sci-fi hits on reasonable budgets before throwing huge loads of money into epic and sometimes troubled productions which, fortunately for everyone, pretty much always found an appreciative audience.
Watching Cameron’s films, from his original low-budget short to his trilogy of underwater documentaries, is a trip through his lifelong passions. You can see seeds of future blockbusters in early schlock like “Piranha II: The Spawning,” and you don’t even have to look that hard.

Venerable action megastar Arnold Schwarzenegger is back with "Fubar" on Netflix, his first-ever television series (read the /Film review here). With the cancellation of "True Lies" on CBS after just one season, the eight-episode run of "Fubar" will be the closest thing to a quasi-sequel to James Cameron's 1994 action comedy hybrid that starred Schwarzenegger as a covert agent who keeps his spy adventures a secret from his suburban wife and teenage daughter. In "Fubar," Schwarzenegger plays Luke Brunner, an aging CIA operative on the verge of retiring when he finds out his daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) is also an undercover agent working on the same case.
In the series, the action takes a backseat to the relationship between Luke and Emma as they try to stay alive long enough to sort out their family issues and complete a mission that's suddenly grown a lot more complicated. "Fubar" could have...

That ’70s Show has been a popular favorite since it debuted in 1998. While the sitcom aired, another teen-focused drama ran alongside it — Buffy the Vampire Slayer. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is remembered for many things: transcending genre, witty dialogue, creating one of TV's greatest female icons, and complex plot lines built on monstrous metaphors, to name a few. These days, creator Joss Whedon may be best known for his abusive behavior on set, but there was a time when his feminist credentials seemed unimpeachable. Despite the revelations about Whedon's actions, his magnum opus remains my favorite series of all time. Although my relationship with the show may be a bit more complicated now, I will never love it any less.
Whedon plotted out "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" seasons well in advance and there are allusions to upcoming storylines scattered throughout the series. One particularly fascinating trail of breadcrumbs leads directly to the death of our hero, Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar). We are living in an age of TV show revivals. By the end of this month, Night Court will even be back on the air. But don’t get your hopes up for a revival of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that would bring Sarah Michelle Gellar back in the title role. While speaking with SFX Magazine (via Movieweb), Gellar said she wouldn’t want to play Buffy ever again.
When asked if she’s interested in reprising the role, Gellar answered, “I’m not. I am very proud of the show that we created and it doesn’t need to be done. We wrapped that up. I am all for them continuing the story, because there’s the story of female empowerment. I love the way the show was left: ‘Every girl who has the power can have the power.’ It’s set up perfectly for someone else to have the power.

“Never bet against James Cameron” has been the conventional wisdom in the film industry, and the adjacent world of film criticism, for at least 25 years. It started roughly around 1997 when Titanic was delayed by six months and its budget ballooned to massive proportions. A vanity project from an auteur director with a runaway budget? It was immediately prophesied to become a box office catastrophe that could sink two major studios.
Instead it went on to become the biggest box office success of all time, a title it held for 12 years until it was defeated by… Avatar, another Cameron movie that was expected to tank and instead scaled to almost unparalleled financial heights. Titanic also won 11 Oscars, tying it for the most ever, including Best Picture and Best Director. From that point on, the idea that the man’s seemingly uncanny commercial and creative instincts, as well as his truly visionary approach to epic filmmaking,...

Much like its parent show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel" relied heavily on metaphor. However, while "Buffy" dealt with the high school experience, only truly going dark in its later seasons, "Angel" always sought to tell more adult-oriented stories. The spin-off never quite reached the same heights of the original, but it came pretty damn close, and there are certain aspects of the series that were even stronger. For one, just about every character who made the jump from "Buffy" to "Angel" was the better for it. Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter), Wesley (Alexis Denisof), Faith (Eliza Dushku), and Darla (Julie Benz) all went from being relatively one-dimensional, to becoming some of the best characters in the entire Buffyverse. Before television was populated with supernatural teen dramas like "Riverdale" and "The Vampire Diaries," and long before "Twilight" took the world by storm, fledgling network The WB took a risk on a bold new series called "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." The premise was born out of creator Joss Whedon's idea to flip the perspective on the defenseless blonde cheerleader archetype that typically dies in horror movies by turning her into a hero.
While Whedon is no longer regarded as the feminist hero he once was, the show still has a lot of merit for its originality as both a supernatural horror series and a serious teen drama that deftly handled feminist issues and empowered young women. "Buffy" was a gripping and surprising show to tune into each week. At turns hilarious and terrifying, it's worth revisiting 25 years later. We've gathered the 14 best episodes of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" from across the series' seven seasons,...

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was predicated on the idea of the cute blonde who usually dies at the beginning of horror movies finally having the power to fight back. She may have looked like just another flaxen-haired damsel in distress, but Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) didn't run from the demons in the alley: she annihilated them. In a narrative most commonly reserved for men, Buffy is the one girl in all the world who is capable of saving it.
I remember discovering "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and falling in love with a TV show for the very first time. It wasn't just about the clever dialogue, monstrous metaphors or unforgettable characters. One of the things that resonated with me the most was that the hero of "Buffy" was a teenage girl, just like me. Sure, she had to bear the weight of her unenviable destiny, but she also had to survive high school.

Four years have passed since it was announced that a reboot of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series was in the works with Monica Owusu-Breen, co-creator of the TV show Midnight, Texas, writing, executive producing, and serving as showrunner. And since four years have gone by without any further word on the reboot, a lot of fans have probably forgotten that announcement had even happened. (I sure did.) So it’s no surprise to hear from Owusu-Breen’s fellow executive producer Gail Berman (via TV Line) that the reboot is “on pause”.
After the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot was announced, Owusu-Breen sent out the following statement:
For some genre writers it’s Star Wars.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my Star Wars.
Before I became a writer, I was a fan. For seven seasons, I watched Buffy Summers grow up, find love, kill that love. I watched her fight,...

Spoiler Alert! Do not read unless you’ve watched the series finale of Bull on CBS.
In the end, Dr. Jason Bull threw it all away to do what was right.
In Thursday’s series finale episode of Bull, the title character played by Michael Weatherly decided to give up his career as a trial-science expert to help put away a suspected murder. The episode was a continuation of the previous week’s storyline, in which Bull took on the defense of Ed Wilson (Rod McLachlan), an apartment building owner who was charged with poisoning multiple tenants with carbon monoxide.
At the end of the May 19 episode, it became clear to Bull that Ed purposely planned the attack to kill a renter who had knowledge of him murdering a college student years ago. To make sure Bull wouldn’t reveal his dark secret, Ed revealed privileged information that he, indeed,...

Kirsten Dunst, the definitive early 2000s teen queen who starred in blockbusters like “Spider-Man” and indie marvels such as “The Virgin Suicides” and “Drop Dead Gorgeous,” once second-guessed her career choices, thanks to one of her peers.
Dunst, who is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress Oscars category for “The Power of the Dog,” revealed during a The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter interview that her breakout “Bring It On” role came with an unexpected criticism.
“During that age I was wanting to be taken seriously too, so I think that even though it was so successful I think there’s part of me that always checks myself or checks what’s around me,” Dunst said. “I remember another actress said something, actually. She was like, ‘Well, I’m not in a dumb cheerleader movie’ or something. Her saying that just made me feel so terrible about myself.

Gretchen Carlson, the former Fox News host whose 2016 sexual harassment lawsuit led to the downfall of network chief Roger Ailes, joined with senators on Capitol Hill on Thursday to celebrate the passage of legislation that prohibits employers from using forced arbitration clauses to shield such cases from public view.
The Senate passed the bill by unanimous consent, after it passed the House overwhelmingly earlier this week. The legislation now goes to President Joe Biden, who is expected to sign it.
The Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act gives employees a choice of going to court to pursue sexual misconduct claims or through arbitration. Companies have routinely put forced arbitration clauses in contracts, meaning that private proceedings are held to resolve claims, often with terms that keep decisions confidential.

Filmmaker Joss Whedon has broken his silence on the multiple allegations of misconduct against him from productions he oversaw, including the 2017 film “Justice League” and his influential TV series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
In a lengthy interview with New York magazine that published on Monday, Whedon denied Gal Gadot’s allegation that he “threatened” her career while working on “Justice League,” which Whedon took over after original director Zack Snyder withdrew from the film following a family tragedy.
“I don’t threaten people. Who does that?” Whedon told New York. “English is not her first language, and I tend to be annoyingly flowery in my speech.” Whedon said he told Gadot that she would have to tie his body to a railroad track before he would cut a scene she wanted removed and that Gadot misunderstood as Whedon threatening to tie her to a track instead. Gadot’s response in the story: “I understood perfectly.

Exclusive: Fox’s Monarch is getting a new boss after former Designated Survivor showrunner Jon Feldman took over the reins of the musical drama series.
Feldman has been named showrunner of the country music series, replacing Michael Rauch.
The series, which stars Susan Sarandon, Trace Adkins and Anna Friel, is set to premiere on Sunday, January 30 at 10 p.m. Currently in production, Feldman will now oversee the series, which was created by Melissa London Hilfers.
Deadline understands that given the size of the show – it is a sprawling musical family epic – there were some speed bumps hit during filming and Fox, which owns the series as its first live-action series fully since the sale of 20th Television to Disney, felt it needed to pivot. We hear that production was briefly halted as Harmon Feldman took over the position.

Actor Eliza Dushku shared her experience facing sexual harassment on the set of CBS’ “Bull” in front of a House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, speaking out about being fired from the show and forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
In 2016, Dushku had a recurring role in Season 1 of “Bull” that was meant to become a regular role, but she alleges that she was fired from the show after accusing star Michael Weatherly of sexual harassment. She received a $9.5 million settlement from CBS, the Boston Globe reported in 2018.
“I was told that the role would be a six-year commitment to play a smart, strong leading lady, a confident high-powered lawyer meant to counterbalance the existing male lead, and that the role had been written specifically with me in mind,” Dushku said. “However, in my first week on my new job I found myself the brunt of crude, sexualized and lewd verbal assaults.

Steve Howey has been cast in one of the lead roles in the CBS drama pilot based on the movie “True Lies,” Variety has learned exclusively.
Howey will star as Harry, the role played in the film by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The character is described as a benign, play-it-safe, seemingly risk-averse computer salesman and devoted family man, married with two kids. But in reality, Harry is an undercover operative, a first-class spy working for a covert U.S. Intelligence organization.
Like the film, Harry’s unfulfilled suburban wife is propelled into a life of danger and adventure when she’s recruited to work alongside him to save the world as they try to revitalize their passionless marriage. The wife role, which was played by Jamie Lee Curtis in the film, has yet to be cast.

Bull may be renewed for a sixth season, but there are some big changes on the horizon for the embattled CBS procedural.
Showrunner Glenn Gordon Caron and co-star Freddy Rodriguez are bowing out of the series following a workplace investigation.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
CBS has yet to elaborate on what went on behind the scenes of the show to lead to such an exodus, but there was an internal investigation by CBS Studios after a number of writers quit.
This occurred after production on Bull Season 5 concluded, with reports alleging that Caron often berated the writing staff.
Additionally, Caron's overall deal with CBS Studios has been terminated.
Bull writers Kathryn Price and Nichole Millard have been tapped to replace Caron as co-showrunners for Bull Season 6, which was ordered by CBS earlier this year.
Since the beginning, Rodriguez has been a part of the ensemble, playing Bull's former brother-in-law Benjamin "Benny" Colòn.
