NBC News was aware of what the then-“Meet the Press” host could face for on-air stunt in late 2012
David Gregory nearly traded in a sensible navy suit for an orange jumper, when the former “Meet the Press” host brandished an illegal high-capacity magazine on a 2012 episode, according to an affidavit revealed recently.
During a Dec. 2012 segment on his NBC News program in which he debated the National Rifle Association, Gregory made his point with a real prop. As a result, an affidavit for his arrest on misdemeanor weapons charges was filled out in Washington, D.C., though the anchor was never taken in.

It’s been a year since the U.S. had an Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator, and now the president has proposed a new one. Danny Marti, a partner at the D.C. law firm Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, was nominated today by President Obama to become the nation’s second-ever IP czar. He would fill the post left vacant when Victoria Espinel stepped down in August 2013.
“We applaud the Administration’s intent to nominate Danny Marti as U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator,” MPAA chief Chris Dodd said today in a statement after the White House made the announcement. “The Ipec plays a critical role in promoting intellectual property as a driver of our nation’s culture and economy. Danny’s impressive record of commitment to enforcing IP rights in the Internet age makes him a particularly strong choice. We urge the Senate to confirm him without delay for this important job.

Homeland’s Season 3 roster continues to expand as the weeks go by, leaving me concerned the Showtime drama might be so filled with guest stars and recurring players that we won’t be able to see the main stars due to the crowding of everyone else. Just imagine a scene between Carrie and Brody made incomprehensible due to it being overrun by the other characters because there were just so many of them and, well, they needed to go somewhere, right? Thankfully, my imagination isn’t even close to a reflection of reality and there’s no need to worry about newcomers Martin Donovan and Shaun Toub squeezing into scenes they don’t belong in.
According to THR, Donovan will be playing Bennett who, aside from being known to be a partner in a Washington, D.C. law firm, has no information surrounding him. If I were to let my imagination run wild again,...

The visual effects industry in Los Angeles has been pummeled by foreign tax incentives that have lured big-budget productions like "Star Wars" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" London, Montreal and other far-flung cities with the promise of lucrative rebates. But there may be a legal avenue available to the beleaguered industry: tariffs. That's the conclusion of a new report by the D.C. law firm Picard, Kentz & Rowe that the visual-effect industry blog VFX Soldier commissioned with monies raised on social networking sites. You know you’re sending your cast through the ringer when it’s necessary to bring back a character from a television show that has not aired since 2005 in order to bail them out. NCIS will be looking toward Jag, the series it originally spun off of, for help during its Season 10 finale, which will, according to Ep Gary Glasberg, change everything for the NCIS team. So which former Jag star will be brought out of retirement? We have about seven to choose from. Could it be Harm, the original series’ lead? Or perhaps it’ll be Mac. Actually, it will be neither of those two. NCIS is welcoming back Judge Advocate General A.J. Chegwidden!
John M. Jackson played Chegwidden for nine seasons before leaving the series in 2004, before it’s final year. That was nearly a decade ago, so what has the character been up to since then?...

The crusade to stop logic-violence against NRA executive vice president Wayne Lapierre has reached a new level. After Meet The Press host David Gregory helped Lapierre embarrass himself on national television, the right-wing media pounced on Gregory's use of a 30-round magazine as a prop during the interview, a possible violation of D.C. law. Now, a group of geniuses have petitioned the White House to press charges against Gregory, and they're nearly halfway to the number of signatures required for the White House to respond "That's not a federal law, dumbasses. Not yet..."...
