S.W.A.T. is finally coming to an end with a seventh season. This was great news for fans and lead actor Shemar Moore, who fought for the show’s survival. While CBS canceled it after Season 6, a pushback caused the network to allow it to return for Season 7 so the series could wrap up its stories.
However, does this mean that some former actors who left the series like Kenny Johnson and Alex Russell could return? Here is what Shemar Moore had to say.
Could Kenny Johnson Return In The Final S.W.A.T. Season?
When CBS canceled S.W.A.T., Shemar Moore spoke up loudly supporting the series continuing for one more season. However, when the series was headed for its end in Season 6, one of the most important team members fell in battle and ended up forced into retirement.

Endeavor has made an investment in Asylum Entertainment Group, which is home to a number of production banners focused on unscripted TV series.
Asylum’s collection of companies includes the Content Group, Texas Crew Productions, Big City TV, Breaklight Pictures, and Audity. Those banners will become part of Endeavor’s nonscripted content division, led by Rebecca Sanhueza, executive VP of content strategy and development and head of nonscripted content at Endeavor. Asylum CEO Steve Michaels and Jodi Flynn, president of Asylum, will report to Sanhueza.
Mark Shapiro, president of Endeavor, called the deal complimentary to its existing assets. Endeavor will provide Asylum with financing and other resources to grow, particularly with international acquisitions.
“Asylum is the ideal complement to our existing portfolio, and Steve will have our full support in building out an industry-leading nonscripted business,” Shapiro said. “Rebecca is a key architect of Endeavor’s content strategy,” Shapiro said.

“Put on your goggles,” says the voice. “Observers without goggles must face away from the blast.” Nuclear safety precautions were not always what we might hope for – but there’s worse. Much worse.
From the moment that Hahn, Strassmann, Meitner and Frisch published their respective papers in 1938, everyone involved with military science knew that an atomic bomb was a possibility, and had a pretty good idea what one would do – but military commanders prefer their investments to be made on a more precise basis. The strikes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki yielded a lot of useful data but it only got them so far. Testing on South Sea islands proved complicated and expensive. Where could they drop bombs without starting a war or risking too much political fallout? How about Nevada?

With fingers tightly crossed, the Slamdance Film Festival plans a return to in-person screenings Jan. 20 29 in Utah, but its organizers have not forgotten the lessons they learned during two years of pandemic pivots.
“Something that’s become abundantly clear to us that’s important for the survival of independent film is accessibility,” festival producer Michael Morin tells Variety. “We’ve been able to do a successful online version of our festival for the last two years. It really made us reconsider what kind of program we wanted to put on when we did come back in person.”
“For me, the key word here would be diversification,” says festival manager Lily Yasuda. Where a hybrid of in-person and online programming was a logistical necessity during Covid, its success in facilitating attendance underscored the need for the festival to broaden its access to individuals, some without the resources and others the physical ability,...

Advertising is soft, Paramount Global’s top finance executive said, but the company’s mix of broadcast, Fast, SVOD and cable “puts us in a very powerful position” to weather the market, as does the sale of a bigger-than-usual chunk of inventory at the upfront.

The extensive ties between UFC parent Endeavor Group Holdings and Disney mean the media company is likely to be “open to a renewal conversation sooner rather than later,” in the assessment of Endeavor president Mark Shapiro.
Disney and the UFC signed a five-year rights deal worth a reported 1.5 billion. The pact took effect in 2019, meaning it is due to expire in a little more than a year. Sports rights in general have continued to surge in the intervening years, and the UFC’s popularity continues
Speaking at a conference hosted by Wall Street firm Rbc Capital Markets, Shapiro noted the many ties between Endeavor, which also owns talent agency WME, and Disney. Those connections provide “a significant amount of leverage,” he said, and make Endeavor “stickier” than other business partners.

Updated with additional Shapiro comments in an interview. Endeavor Group Holdings President Mark Shapiro told Deadline in an interview that a hiring freeze is in place at the company through the end of 2022, but he emphasized that it was enacted as a way to be financially “prudent” and not due to any operational weaknesses.
Plus, he added, “any positions that come open will still be backfilled” and the company intends to resume staffing up in 2023. That would put the sports and entertainment entity on a different footing than media and tech firms actively looking to shed workers in the coming months.
During an appearance earlier today at a conference organized by Rbc Capital Markets, Shapiro listed a pause on new hires as “first and foremost” on the company’s internal list of strategic priorities heading into 2023.

WME veterans Christian Muirhead and Richard Weitz have been promoted to co-chairmen of the powerful talent agency that is a cornerstone of Endeavor.
The pair will succeed Lloyd Braun, who will step down from the WME chairman role at year’s end. Muirhead is the agency’s longtime communications chief. Weitz is one of the industry’s most respected literary agents who joined Endeavor when that agency when in its infancy in 1997.
“The appointment of Richard and Christian marks a truly transformative day for WME, which continues to be the inspirational core of Endeavor,” said Endeavor president Mark Shapiro. “I’ve seen first-hand their innate ability to lead, to build meaningful relationships, and to leverage the broader Endeavor network in service to our clients’ aspirations. Richard Weitz and Christian Muirhead have been upped to co-chairmen of Endeavor’s WME talent agency, succeeding Lloyd Braun who will step down as chairman at the end of 2022 when his contract is up. Both are agency veterans, having come from the two companies that formed WME, Endeavor (Weitz) and Wma (Muirhead), and also come from different backgrounds, agenting and corporate communications, respectively. Ari Greenburg remains WME president and will now report to Weitz and Muirhead.
“I would like to thank Lloyd for his leadership over these past three years, navigating WME through the pandemic and setting the agency on course for its best financial year on record,” said Mark Shapiro, President, Endeavor. “Lloyd has left an indelible mark on WME and laid a strong foundation for the future.”
Former ABC Entertainment Television Group chairman Braun was a rare outsider brought into WME’s top ranks in late 2019 as chairman.
