Even after all the years since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" premiered in 1997 — even with the recent controversy surrounding creator Joss Whedon — even as dated as some of the content and jokes are, the show endures as the forebearer to so many TV and film heroines. Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell), Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scrofano), and Bo (Anna Silk) from "Lost Girl" all owe quite a bit to Buffy Summers.
Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) herself was influenced by a comic book character — Kitty Pryde of X-Men fame. Whedon called her "a huge proto-Buffy" in a 2005 interview with Time and "the mother of Buffy" in a Wired article from 2012. If any other Buffy fans want to take a moment to pour one out for Joyce Summers (Kristine Sutherland) — Buffy's actual mother — who died unceremoniously in the powerful episode "The Body," please do. I still have to skip that one during my rewatches of the series.

Wynonna is faced with losing the one thing she can't bear to lose in the fight against Bulshar.
This Wynonna Earp review contains spoilers.
Wynonna Earp Season 3, Episode 10
Wynonna Earp has sacrificed a lot in her fight against supernatural evil: her father, her sister Willa, years with her mother, and a chance to watch Alice grow, but there is one cost that is too high even for the end of the world as we know it: Waverly Earp.
The relationship between Wynonna and Waverly has always been the heart of the show. Sure, it's called Wynonna Earp, but this is a show about sisterhood, a form of relationship that is often so, so important in real life, but doesn't often get represented centrally on the screen. Let me ask you… Zoie, I’ll start with you, can you talk about what you want the show to be remembered for? Like, what you most want people to think about when they think of Lost Girl.
Zoie Palmer: Gosh, that’s a – it feels like a big question, because there’s you know as we come to the end, it feels like there’s so much. Everything comes rushing back to me you know. I think – well, no you know it was such a team, of both the characters and the cast you know. And I think there’s something about that that sticks with me you know having had a little bit of time away from the actual filming of it now. It’s just like the dynamic of the team, of everybody, and how those characters sort of interacted and moved through the five seasons...

Lost Girl is returning to Syfy on Friday, April 17th, for its fifth, and final season, and its time to get excited for the return of Bo.
I got a chance to talk with Anna Silk recently, and it was quite the adventure trying to get any information out of her about the season. Syfy fans who are hot for spoilers will know that since the show has aired already in Canada, it probably isn’t too hard to find out some information, but Anna stuck to her guns about not giving things away… except for one little hint, and a few vague suggestions.
The show obviously lives and dies with Bo, and Silk’s ability to bring the kind of charisma to the character that helps to suck in audiences, and it was a treat to talk with her. Transcripts never do an interview justice, and I have to tell you,...

On the off chance that Syfy’s Defiance is not picked up for a third season, fans of the series should at least feel a greater sense of closure than, say, poor Longmire viewers.

When I start a Lost Girl review (check out my season 3 review here) I always want to compare it to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Bo is a fantasy character easily comparable to Buffy in favourable ways, but I’d argue that as a show like Lost Girl should really be looked at on its own merits and not as just another show to keep the Vampire Slayer fans happy. Saying that, is being favourably compared to Buffy such a bad thing? In Lost Girl: The Complete Fourth Season, Bo and her friends are facing an evil that is more confusing than anything, just who is The Wanderer and is he even the season’s “Big Bad”?
Coming off the third season which saw Bo (Anna Silk) vanish, leaving behind nothing but the Wanderer card the fourth starts with a world without her, nobody seems to even know she existed.

Arriving on DVD in the UK this month is the fourth season boxset of SyFy's supernatural crime drama 'Lost Girl'. It continues the story of Bo, the bisexual succubus played by Canadian hottie Anna Silk. Bo feeds off the sexual energy of humans around her in order to survive whilst attempting to help those in need, and discover the truth about her origins. The hit series of course is not the only supernatural TV show out there where otherworldly females exist bringing along with them their strength and sexual allure for even the hardened male to fall victim of. Let's take a look at a cross section of supernatural beings that fill the category. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 'Lost Girl' Season 4 on DVD on 19 May....

Shows based on fairy tale creatures seem to be popular at the moment, it’s almost as if the studios thought there was a gap in the market which was left by Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. With Grimm and Once Upon A Time arguably the most popular of these types of shows it often feels like Lost Girl is sat in the background fighting for some attention. Lost Girl: The Complete Third Season is being releasedMarch 3rd on DVD and in many ways season three feels like the season where Lost Girl did a little catching up.
With the main character in Lost Girl being a Succubus it comes as no surprise really that the show has a more adult tone and more importantly it’s sexy. In season three we see Bo (Anna Silk) having to make the most important decision of her life as a Succubus and find her destiny,...

The ratings for Lost Girl on Syfy have been dropping each season. Will they continue to fall or rise in season four? Will the series be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season? Stay tuned to find out?
Lost Girl revolves around a Succubus named Bo (Anna Silk) who feeds on the sexual energy of humans. The rest of the cast includes Kris Holden-Ried, Ksenia Solo, Zoie Palmer, Rick Howland, K.C. Collins, and Rachel Skarsten.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

Some networks are basically shutting down operations, at least as far as new content goes, during the Olympics. Go figure. Given that, at least here in the west, Olympics coverage seems to be a minimum of 12 hours old, it’s not like the results are a surprise. Happily, Fox is still showing a new Almost Human tonight, and Syfy is airing new eps of its great Monday lineup.

Thanks, Syfy, for making Mondays a good thing.

Syfy has released a new promo touting its supercharged supernatural Monday lineup of "Lost Girl," "Being Human," and "Bitten," which kicks off on January 13th. Viewers will have their choice of "vampires, werewolves, and ghosts… and everything else that’s out there!"
"Lost Girl" follows supernatural seductress Bo (Anna Silk), a Succubus who feeds on the sexual energy (sometimes called "chi") of humans. "Lost Girl" Season 4 begins on January 13th at 8|7c.
"Being Human" Season 4 picks up three months after last season's finale with the roommates coping with Josh (Sam Huntington), who is permanently a wolf, although the full moon has a very different effect on him now, which drives Nora (Kristen Hager) to extremes in order to get her husband back. Visitors from Aidan's (Sam Witwer) haunted past, including an elusive character bearing an uncanny likeness to his long lost wife, Suzanna (Katharine Isabelle), as well as his maker,...

Now that is seems that Lost Girl is handing out fantastic guest star casting news like candy, it’s time to get greedy big. Sure, the news last week that Bomb Girls star Ali Liebert, The L Word/Defiance star Mia Kirshner and needs-no-introduction George Takei would appear in Season 4 of the hit Showcase/Syfy show seemed almost too exciting to bear. But you mustn’t be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.
Lost Girl Executive Producer Emily Andras called the casting news a “LGBTnerdsplsion,” which sounds just about right. But things can always get even better. So let’s make a wish list for the rest of the season. As long as Lost Girl is looking to bring in an all-star cast of actresses who have played gay to guest star, we’re happy to help.
How about Lucy Lawless, Lena Headey or Lisa Ray?...
