Scream Factory has just released Killer Klowns from Outer Space in 4K to celebrate its 35th Anniversary, and what an exciting time to be a fan of the 1980s movie. With the recent surge of Klownapalooza happening in the past few years, including tons of merch made available by Spirit Halloween and the much-anticipated video game scheduled to be released next month, it seems apropos for the Klowns to finally make their 4K debut.
In 1988, the Chiodo Brothers took their seemingly ridiculous premise of having otherworldly monsters in the form of circus clowns land on Earth to wreak havoc on a quiet little town and produced it into a full-length motion picture. Inspired by creature features and B-movies alike, their unconventional film with a deliberately hokey title would garner an initially significant following that evolved into a major cult classic close to four decades later.

Thirty-five years down the line from the release of the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here), fans of the film have access to a whole lot of tie-in merchandise, have made their way through Killer Klowns-themed mazes at Halloween Horror Nights events, and have a video game to look forward to… but we still haven’t seen the sequel the film’s creators have been anxious to make for decades. Now, speaking with SFX magazine, Killer Klowns from Outer Space director Stephen Chiodo has revealed that he’s hoping to bring the sequel idea to life as an eight episode mini-series!
Chiodo told SFX (with thanks to Coming Soon for sharing the text), “My goal is to do an eight-part miniseries for streamers. We’ve got a great concept that continues the story of our main characters. We’ll follow a new group of teenagers...

It seems crazy to me that Spirit Halloween stores are apparently having great success selling merchandise related to the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here), and yet we still haven’t heard that the long-awaited sequel has been given a greenlight. But while we continue to wait for that sequel (and look forward to the video game), Spirit Halloween has now announced that they’ve teamed up with Funko to create a limited edition Funko Pop! that will only be available in select Spirit stores and on the Spirit website. This figure, which is being produced to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Killer Klowns from Outer Space, “brings to life the iconic scene where Bibbo and Shorty pop out of a pizza box and zap an unsuspecting victim with their cotton candy gun.”

John Massari, who composed the score for the 1988 cult classic horror comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here), has returned to create the music for the upcoming Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game, which will be released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One sometime in 2023. While we wait for a specific release date to be announced, the main theme Massari has composed for the video game, a track called “The Darkkest Karnival” has been released online, and you can listen to it in the embed at the bottom of this article. Our friends at Bloody Disgusting were told, “This blood-pumping track pays homage to the original ‘Klown March’ recorded in 1987, while also adding darker, unexpected modern twists to its structure.”

Back in 1988, the Chiodo Brothers brought us the cult classic horror comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) – and pretty much ever since, they have been hoping to get the chance to make a sequel to the film. There’s still no word on a Killer Klowns 2, but sometime in 2023 there will be a Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One… and during a conversation with ComicBook.com, the Chiodos revealed that some of the ideas they had for a sequel have been worked into the game.
Edward Chiodo told the site, “The game is being developed by Teravision with us acting as executive producers and creative advisers. One of our main focus points was making sure that the game captures the right look and unique spirit that the film had which fans feel so emotionally connected to. We...

A couple months ago, it was announced that a video game based on the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) will be released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One sometime in 2023. A trailer for the game can be seen in the embed above, and now the folks at IGN have shared a video that shows how closely the video game resembles the movie it’s based on. That video can be viewed at the bottom of this article.
When the announcement was made, it was said that the video game maps would be “inventive, but faithful recreations of iconic locations from the Killer Klowns from Outer Space movie.” The video below does a great job of showing just how faithful these location recreations are.
The Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game is a multiplayer, asymmetrical (3 vs 7) horror game that pits three Klowns against seven Humans.

It's a balmy summer evening, the stars are out, and something strange just dropped out of the sky and landed in the woods near your hometown. What should you do? Warn the sheriff, knowing he never really listens to punk kids like you anyway? Investigate and poke it with a stick? Or ignore it and carry on making out in the back of your Convertible?
All the above answers are viable and correct if you're a stock character in a B movie horror involving hostile visitors from outer space, who like parking up on the edge of a small town where the hicks are too dumb to realize what is going on until it's almost too late. The premise was a staple of the atomic-era science fiction of the 1950s, and many directors who grew up with fond memories of those movies made their own versions in the 1980s.

Woo Hoo! We’re girl-starved teen nerds, and we’re cooking up our own living sex toy with our home computers! John Hughes turns an infantile idea into one of his not-bad teen angst comedies, as Kelly LeBrock materializes to fulfill their wildest dreams. The idea is of course transformed into a basically benign coming-of age story … with the underlying message that we’d not all mind having Ms. LeBrock reformat our hard drive. It all begins as a bad arrested-development joke, but Hughes’ audaciousness and fine production values make this a nostalgic favorite for folk that miss their (ugh) 1980s memories.

Where do I even begin talking about my love for Night of the Creeps? Writer/director Fred Dekker, a monster kid from way back, was a successful screenwriter when he got to finally direct a movie. He was only about 26 at the time, but the movie plays like the work of a guy who has waited his entire life to make a movie. Though they exist to entertain and make us laugh, there are few things people find scarier than clowns. Why that is, I cannot say; it’s a combination of the makeup, I think, and the fact that there is a person in there whose motivations for hiding under that makeup are unclear. As such, they have been a staple of the horror genre for close to 40 years, whether it’s Pennywise the Clown in Stephen King’s It (the novel and the two film adaptations) or the clown that attacks poor Robbie in Poltergeist or the undead clown in Zombieland or the spate of horror films from just the last few years all based around clowns: Stitches, Terrifier, Clown, and, most recently, Gags. While some may be scarier and they all vary in quality and degrees of success, there is no better clown horror movie than Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

“Killer Klowns…” first opened in 1988, and featured Grant Cramer, Suzanne Snyder, John Allen Nelson, and the iconic John Vernon (Dean Wormer from “Animal House”). Springboarding from a youth spent shooting their own movies on 8mm – the heartfelt intent and burning enthusiasm for which sometimes (but not always) rendered the made-for-pennies mini-epics amusingly watchable today – in 1987 the enterprising Chiodo brothers finally got to stage their first feature film production, which was released to decent acclaim in 1988. Produced and co-written by Charles, Edward and Stephen Chiodo, with the latter occupying the director’s chair, that film is every bit as bizarre as you’d expect of one bearing the title Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
The town of Crescent Cove is under assault by alien beings, which appear in the form of freakish clowns and whose spaceship adopts the facade of a circus tent. These aliens are abducting the populace and cocooning them in a flesh-eating substance resembling candyfloss. It’s up to local cop Dave Hansen (John Allen Nelson), clean-cut lad Mike...

Killer Clowns From Outer Space (1988) will be available on Blu-ray April 24th from Arrow Video
Step aside Pennywise… These Killer Klowns from Outer Space are outta this world literally! and they re packing deadly popcorn guns and cotton candy cocoons!
When Mike and his girlfriend Debbie warn the local police that a gang of homicidal alien-clowns have landed in the nearby area (in a spaceship shaped like a circus big-top, no less), the cops are naturally sceptical. Before long however, reports are coming in from other anxious residents detailing similar run-ins with the large-shoed assailants. There can no longer be any doubt the Killer Klowns from Outer Space are here, and they re out to turn the Earth s population into candy floss!
Written and produced by the Chiodo brothers knowns for their work on a host of special-effects laden hits such as Team America: World Police and the Critters...

This May will be the 30th anniversary of when viewers were first introduced to those cotton candy-loving visitors from above in Stephen Chiodo's Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and on May 19th in Los Angeles, the movie's three-decade mark will be celebrated in style at The Montalban Theatre.
Similar to a three-ring circus, the May 19th celebration will include multiple performance for attendees to enjoy, including fortune tellers, contortionist Bonnie Morgan (who played Samara in Rings), a Q&A with the cast and crew, and a screening of Killer Klowns From Outer Space with a live score accompaniment from The Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, conducted by composer John Massari.
Read on for full details in the press release below, and check here to learn more about tickets to the event.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space was always one of those movies that I knew I had to see but never got round to it, but through Netflix I got lucky. Finally getting to see it I saw what all the fuss was about and just why it is seen as a cult classic. Now Arrow Video have given it their treatment on a dual DVD and Blu-ray release and with plenty of special features it’s enough to make you drool.
When a small town is invaded by aliens from outer space the local cops take no notice of the calls for help, especially Mooney (John Vernon) who doesn’t take the description of the aliens seriously…...

Arrow Video is certainly coming up with the goods in September. Another childhood favourite is making its way to Blu-ray on September 15th, that would be the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Playing colourful homage to such ’50s B-movie drive-in classics as The Blob (1958) and Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) while providing plenty of original shocks and scares itself, Killer Klowns from Outer Space is energetic, punk and every bit as funny as it is scary. This new release comes loaded with bonus features including an audio commentary with the Chiodo Brothers, as well as a 20 minute making of feature looking at the film’s production, interviews with the makers of the film and behind-the-scenes footage. A tour of Chiodo Bros Productions, brand new interviews with stars Grant Cramer and Suzanne Snyder, as well as an interviews with composer John Massari, creature fabricator Dwight Roberts and visual effects...

Return of the Living Dead may have been the first zomedy ever. It was as far I’m concerned anyway. An off the rails and completely over the top parody homage that had the pedigree of being written by the guy that penned “Night of the Living Dead” and directed by the guy who wrote “Alien”. A very nostalgic movie for me, and an all-around favorite to just about any horror fan that I know of. Which brings me to the question of “Did the sequel that came three years later fair as an acceptable follow up?”

So many horror hotties to choose from through out the history of our beloved genre. Amelia Kinkade from the cult classic Night of the Demons. The dance number she did in its sequel Night of the Demons 2... oh my god! Shawnee Smith from The Blob, anyone? Suzanne Snyder from Killer Klowns from Outer Space are all on my want to see them naked list.
My fiance is going to kill me for my choice. I might pay for this later, but Danielle Harris is my choice for horror vixen that I want to see naked. Don't start ranting "Danielle was naked in Rob Zombie's Halloween ", because she was screaming and getting sliced up. I couldn't really relish and enjoy her naked boobies on screen. She has been in the horror industry since she was a child, and is now a grown up leading lady in the genre. I've had...

Every March for the last two years I have made my annual pilgrimage to Indianapolis for the Horrorhound Convention. I have come to expect several things from this event: A killer guest lineup, tons of cool stuff to buy, and for the event to be even bigger than the year before. After Dario Argento’s cancellation as headliner, my friend that usually accompanies me to the event decided not to go and many people on the message boards were ringing with the same sentiment. This made me worried that this year may not live up to the previous two. Read more…
This year was every bit as good as last year and much more. Last year, one of the biggest complaints attendees expressed was that the convention center was too crowded. No one can argue that this was a major concern as the line to enter the vendor room was...

I remember seeing Night Of The Creeps when it was released in 1986. I hadn’t seen the trailer and didn’t know anything about the movie, but a friend invited me at the last minute, and, hey, being 11 at the time, any chance to see an R-rated horror movie was an opportunity I would never pass up. While first-time writer-director Fred Dekker’s Sf-horror pastiche bombed at the box office and quickly left theaters, I Loved the film. I watched it a few times afterward when it showed up on cable, but I haven’t seen Night Of The Creeps in nearly 20 years. So when I heard that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment was releasing a Director’s Cut of the film on DVD ($19.95; also Blu-ray $24.95), I couldn’t wait to revisit it, but I was trepidatious about how it has aged over the years. Well, Night Of The Creeps is...
