Exclusive: Sony Pictures Television has finalized a new licensing deal with Paramount Global for comedy series The King of Queens to continue to be available on Paramount linear cable networks. The new pact also includes for the first time streaming rights on Paramount+ for all nine seasons and on Pluto TV for some (currently Seasons 1-3).

Kevin James Has a Losing Driver and a Demanding New Boss in Trailer for Netflix’s ‘The Crew’ (Video)
Kevin James seems like a pretty solid crew chief in his new NASCAR Netflix comedy series, “The Crew.” Unfortunately, everyone around him appears to be as hapless as can be.
But don’t take our word for it — watch the trailer above.
“The Crew” is set to debut on Monday, Feb. 15 on Netflix, the streaming service said on Friday. The timing follows the real-life Daytona 500 race on Sunday, Feb. 14.

When the team’s old-school owner, Bobby Spencer himself (Bruce McGill), steps down and passes the team off to his daughter Catherine (Jillian Mueller), James has to protect himself and his crew from her attempts to modernize the team.
Step 1 of Catherine’s plan: Replace the clearly very bad (or at least dumb and distracted) driver Jake, who is played by Freddie Stroma.

“Kevin Can Wait” has been canceled by CBS after two season, Variety has learned.
The CBS sitcom stars Kevin James, Leah Remini, Taylor Spreitler, Mary-Charles Jones, James Digiacomo, Ryan Cartwright, Lenny Venito, Gary Valentine, and Leonard Earl Howze. James, Rock Reuben, Rob Long, Jeff Sussman, Andy Fickman, Tony Sheehan, and Steve Mosko are executive producers for Sony Pictures TV and CBS Television Studios.
“Kevin Can Wait” underwent a creative overhaul between seasons one and two, with original co-star Erinn Hayes’ character written off the show and Remini joining the cast, reuniting James with his former “King of Queens” co-star.
But the show still saw a big ratings slide in its second season. The cancelation after investing in two seasons is a tough cut for Sony Pictures Television, which will shop the series to other buyers.

CBS has opted not to pick up a third season of its Kevin James comedy series Kevin Can Wait.
This is one of the biggest casualties at CBS this season. The network had set out to shake things up on Monday, where its ratings fortunes had fallen. It has now canceled Kevin Can Wait, Superior Donuts and Scorpion and only has renewed Man with a Plan.
Fueled by the popularity of its star Kevin James and boosted by The Bing Bang Theory as a lead, Kevin Can Wait got off to a blazing start in fall 2016 and went on to become a sturdy Monday 8 Pm anchor. The series ranked as the most watched and highest rated new comedy last season. But there was some ratings decline over the course of the season.
Additionally, midway through Season 1, the series parted ways with co-creator and showrunner Bruce Helford, who now steers ABC’s Roseanne revival.

After stinking up the multiplex with Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 last month, is Kevin James finally searching for critical redemption? Nah, don’t think so. The actor has signed on to star in comedy The True Memoirs of an International Assassin, with Blart producer Todd Garner returning in the same capacity and Jeff Sussman (Zookeeper) exec-producing.
The pic, to be directed by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2, the upcoming Masters of the Universe) from a Black List script by Jeff Morris, will center on a bumbling, mild-mannered accountant who tries his hand at novel-writing, only for his book about an international assassin to top the charts – as a non-fiction memoir. Bombarded by publicity and unsure of how to deal with a world that now believes him to be a stone-cold killer, he vacations in Belize. Predictably, he ends up snared in an actual assassination plot in the Central American country...

Just one week after Sony Pictures shifted The Green Hornet into 2011, the studio has made another change to its release calendar. The upcoming Kevin James comedy Zookeeper will now open on July 8, 2011, rather than the October release MGM had previously slated for the film. (Sony took over domestic distribution rights from Zookeeper's co-producer MGM last month.) Why the delay? Sony says Zookeeper generated tremendous scores after a test screening last week, some of the highest they've ever seen. As such, the studio believes they have a big commercial hit on their hands but not enough time to get it into this summer's calendar.

Sony took a good look at its recently acquired Kevin James comedy "The Zookeeper" and saw summer sizzler written all over it.
As a result, the likely PG-rated pic is moving from Oct. 8 to July 8, 2011. Sony's delay of the film's release has the dual benefits of a more lucrative boxoffice play period and helping the Culver City studio fill out its release schedule for next year's swimsuit season.
Sony recently acquired control of the project from MGM, its co-producer on "Zookeepers."
"It's got tremendous heart and soul," Sony distribution president Rory Bruer said. "And talking animals? Gimme a break, it's so funny. "
The voice cast includes Adam Sandler, Sylvester Stallone, Cher and Rosario Dawson. James and Todd Gardner are producing the pic from Broken Road Prods. and Happy Madison. Jeff Sussman is the executive producer.

Part of my job involves watching every single movie trailer that comes down the pipeline, and, in most cases, writing about it. Thus, it pains me to keep hearing the same old voice-over lines from the guy with the deep voice. A comedian friend of mine named Jeff Sussman once did a bit on the movie trailer voice-over guy. In it, he speculated what it would be like to live with the movie trailer voice-over guy. Do all of his dinner conversations begin with "In a world ... where chicken cutlets and mashed potatoes come together ..."? It was a pretty funny routine, and Jeff had the voice down good. Unfortunately we lost Don Lafontaine (the legendary voice-over guy) recently, but there are still a host of guys with deep voices there to tease us at every turn with the same overly used lines again and again.
Well I'd like to take a stand today!
