Voyage to the Stars is a bonafide podcast phenomenon starring Colton Dunn (Superstore), Felicia Day (Supernatural), Janet Varney (Legend of Korra), Kirsten Vangsness (Criminal Minds), and Steve Berg (Drunk History)! With 2.5 million downloads in its debut year and over 100,000 viewers on Twitch, the wild sci-fi podcast is now available in comic form… I’ll be honest, I had never even heard of the podcast on which this comic is based but seeing the name Felicia Day attached usually is a sign that I’ll enjoy the product; and that’s certainly the case here.
The plot here is pretty simple. Earth is gone and only one intrepid crew of misfits managed to escape. A crew who is now determined and ambiguously destined to stop a growing, ancient evil from consuming the universe.

Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo are now developing a TV series adaptation of the the Valiant Entertainment comic book series Quantum and Woody for TBS.
The comic was co-created by writer Christopher Priest and illustrator Mark Bright, and was originally published in 1997. The comic draws inspiration from the characters played by Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes in 1992 comedy White Men Can’t Jump. The story centers around a pair of adoptive brothers who come together, after years of estrangement, by the mysterious death of their father. In the course of investigating, they are accidentally imbued with powers. The characters were later reimagined in 2013 by writer James Asmus and illustrator Tom Fowler.
With the Russo Bros. producing the series there's a chance that it could actually turn out to be a great and fun series. Deadline goes on to say that Joel McHale (Community) could be one of the stars in the series,...

Exclusive: Quantum And Woody, an adaptation of the Valiant Entertainment comic that has Avengers: Infinity War helmers Anthony Russo and Joe Russo and Spy’s Mike Larocca attached to executive produce via their Agbo, is in early development at TBS, I understand. Ant-Man And The Wasp‘s Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari are writing the pilot for what could be a franchise series, though it’s early days.
Quantum And Woody is part of the Valiant Entertainment stable of comics which is owned by Dmg Entertainment and remains one of the key superhero publishing troves not currently tied to a major studio. That could change as Dmg is understood to be taking meetings around town for a bigger scenario deal.

Speaking from personal experience, I will say that whenever an oversized anniversary issue hits stands that collectors will ready their wallets, regardless of whether they’ve been actively following the series in question. So, when Amazing Spider-Man #25 ships next month, expect it to fly off shelves even though it will likely be sold at a higher price when you factor in the knowledge that it will be 96 pages strong.
When it comes to content, readers can look forward to a 40-page main story in the form of the cleverly titled “The Osborn Identity.” As you can no doubt surmise, stalwart writer Dan Slott will reunite Peter Parker with his longtime nemesis Norman Osborn as a new storyline kicks off. Furthermore, fan favorite artist Stuart Immonen has been confirmed to join the party as well.

Boom! Studios is at the Emerald City Comicon today to announce a new comic called Kong of Skull Island, which will serve as a prequel to the classic film. At first, I thought we were looking at an adaptation or a tie-in to the new film from Jordan Vogt-Roberts, Kong: Skull Island, but this Boom! Studios comic is a totally different thing. James Asmus (All-New Inhumans) is the writer for the limited series, while Carlos Magno is going to be the artist. The first issue will have a number of alternate covers from guys like Eric Powell, Ryan Sook, Paul Pope, Nick Robles, and Felipe Massafera, whose art you can see below. The logline for the series is, “Two fractured and combative civilizations are forced to band together as they venture into Skull Island — their new home.” Setting stories on Skull Island seems like the best way to keep telling Kong stories,...

This week I thought I’d get back to basics and, you know, actually talk about a comic book (gasp!). Being in the mood for some potentially light reading, I poked around the myriad stories that I’ve picked up and not had time to read yet, and happened upon the first Tpb for Quantum and Woody! The World’s Worst Superhero Team (the Valiant Comics 2013-2014 version). One look at the title and the cover (one tough-looking costumed superhero, one completely douchey-looking frat boy type superhero, and… a goat?) and I knew I’d probably at least not be bored.
And boy, was I right about that. I’m trying to think of a way to sum up what I just read, and I feel like, “This book is so wrong it’s right” might just about cover it. The premise – about two estranged brothers who end up reuniting...
