In 2022, the Star Trek universe got a little bigger with the premiere of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The Paramount+ series follows the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise – under the command of Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) – as they explore uncharted territories and encounter new life and civilizations.
The streaming service was so confident that the Star Trek: Discovery spinoff would be a hit with fans that they ordered a second season months before the series premiered. Then, in March 2023, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was renewed for season 3, several months in advance of the June 2023 season 2 premiere.
So, when will Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 premiere, and what can fans expect from the new episodes? Here’s what we know so far.

This review contains spoilers for the show's visual surprises.
The original 1985 "Back to the Future" movie is a fantasy. It's a teen time travel fantasy about knocking sense into your disappointing parents and ensuring they grow into better people. It's a fantasy where "If You Put Your Mind To It, You Can Accomplish Anything" pays dividends as an adage. It's also a visual effects dream — courtesy of its director-screenwriter Robert Zemeckis and Ilm — that rode the waves of critical and commercial success, two sequels, pop culture homages, and now a "Back to the Future: The Musical."
The famed DeLorean time machine skids onto Broadway's Winter Garden stage, as the West End version dances on. Within a few blinding flashes, the vehicle pops up like magic thanks to Chris Fisher's illusion work and Tim Lutkin & Hugh Vanstone's tactful lighting. Its 3D scan designed by Tim Hatley, the DeLorean feels alive.

A trailer for the Stranger Things stage play promises fans will not only get to return to The Upside Down soon, but might also get some clues into what’s ahead in season five.
The minute-long trailer for Stranger Things: The First Shadow was posted to the show’s social media Wednesday, and featured a series of clips presented on a static-y analog TV. “The beginning of the Stranger Things story might hold the key to what is next…” the trailer teases. Beyond images of the popular Netflix series’ cast and scenes from seasons past, eight buttons, a clock with spiders spilling out and a red-lit stage are also featured.
The trailer marks the second look at the show — expected to open later this year on the West End at the Phoenix Theatre — following a shorter, but just as cryptic, teaser in March. The show was initially announced in July 2022, with Trefry,...

Henry Creel's dark past is coming to light in the Duffer Brothers' forthcoming "Stranger Things" stage play, "Stranger Things: The First Shadow." The prequel, set in 1959 Hawkins, premieres in London's West End later this year and will take a deep dive into Vecna's chilling origin story. Like Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will seeing their D&d nightmares realized, the theatrical production promises to take fans right back to the beginning of Hawkins's deepest and most terrifying secrets - and then some.
On July 5, the show's official social media accounts posted a preview clip for the play, teasing that the "Stranger Things" origin story just "might hold the key to what comes next," too.

The Duffer Brothers are leaving Easter eggs for the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” in suitably strange places, like the upcoming stage play “The First Shadow.”
The teaser for the upcoming West End production hints that “the beginning of the ‘Stranger Things’ story might hold the key to what comes next.” A series of clips from the first season of the hit Netflix series, including Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) being experimented on, are also part of the teaser footage.
The official synopsis reads for the stage play reads: “Hawkins, 1959, a regular town with regular worries. Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister won’t take his radio show seriously and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get the hell out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn’t so easy … and the shadows...

A very cool teaser trailer for the upcoming Stranger Things stage adaptation The First Shadow doesn’t give away much by way of plot details, but we do see some clips of the TV series’ early episodes only to watch the screen shatter and a mysterious red, glowing orb appear on the stage of an otherwise empty theater.
Then, slowly appearing, are the words: “The beginning of the Stranger Things Story Might Hold The Key To What Comes Next”.
That empty West End theater won’t stay that way for long: The First Shadow, revealed by Deadline last summer, will begin performances Nov. 17 at London’s Phoenix Theatre, and judging by the Phoenix’s ticket site, performances are already sold out through mid-December.

Sterlin Harjo is a Native filmmaker and a name you might recognize — he’s directed an episode of “The Magicians” and he’s the mastermind behind FX’s popular “Reservation Dogs.” Harjo is a Native creative bringing Indigenous stories to life.
It’s something he’s always been doing, though Hollywood hasn’t always held its doors open for filmmakers like Harjo… until recently, thanks to the advent of streaming.
As part of Native American Heritage Month, Harjo spoke with Variety about how Hollywood wasn’t always so receptive to his ideas and how he found the inspiration to keep going through Native storytelling.
What was it that inspired the move as a filmmaker to Los Angeles?
I went to the Sundance Writer’s Lab and then the director’s lab. It was all about the art of writing and filmmaking. It was like a boot camp for me because...

Endangered Species comes from writer/director M.J. Bassett who explored similar territory in both the 2006 film Wilderness, which saw teens put on an island and having to fend for themselves; and much more recently with Rogue, the Megan Fox, killer lion film from last year.
This film combines both into a story that sees Robert Halsey (Philip Winchester), his wife Andi (Rebecca Romijn), teenage daughter Katie, and young son Toby take a trip to the Amboseli National Park in Kenya. When American oil executive Jack (Philip Winchester) and his wife Lauren (Rebecca Romijn) go on safari with their college-age kids Noah (Michael Johnston) and Zoe and Zoe's boyfriend Billy (Chris Fisher), it's not long before someone mentions the "Big Five" - rhino, lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo. Keen film-spotters might also like to look out for the survival movie Big Five - a fractious group going somewhere they shouldn't, an accident, a wounded member of the party, no phone signal and a long-standing condition that requires now-destroyed medication.
Not much hunting is required as these key elements are laid out quickly after a basic set-up that establishes Jack is a workaholic with problems, who doesn't speak to his kids enough and has issues with the fact that his son is gay, but who decides to break a few rules in the...

Oscar-winner Al Pacino and Meadow Williams star in American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally, the historical drama hitting select theaters this Memorial Day weekend via Vertical Entertainment and Redbox Entertainment. Michael Polish directed the film, which is based on a true story and follows the life of American woman Mildred Gillars (Williams) and her lawyer (Pacino), who struggle to redeem her reputation.
Dubbed “Axis Sally” for broadcasting Nazi propaganda to American troops during World War II, Mildred’s story exposes the dark underbelly of the Third Reich’s hate-filled propaganda machine, her eventual capture in Berlin, and subsequent trial for treason against the United States after the war.
Mitch Pileggi, Thomas Kretschmann, Lala Kent, Carsten Norgaard, and Swen Temmel round out the cast. The pic, which is based on William E. Owen’s novel, Axis Sally Confidential, is also available on-demand. William and Vance Owen’s book Axis Sally Confidential,...

The other family-imperiled-by-rampaging-beasts movie this weekend, “Endangered Species” is different from “A Quiet Place Part II” in many ways, particularly in that its characters cannot stop yakking — with corresponding diminished viewer concern for their survival under extreme duress. Mj Bassett’s South African-produced thriller has a vacationing American clan doing all the wrong things in a Kenyan wildlife preserve. Needless to say, the local fauna quickly notice there are some fresh snacks on the savanna, to our protagonists’ grief.
The squabbling human dynamics make this outdoor suspense exercise one in which too soon we start rooting for the four-legged cast members. Slick and scenic but increasingly silly, by the end it has become perhaps the most preachily wrong-headed wildlife conservation adventure since the notorious “Roar” 40 years ago. Lionsgate is releasing to digital, VOD and limited theaters, with Blu-ray and DVD following on June 1.

This article contains spoilers for the sixth episode of The Stand.
In episode 6 of the CBS All Access limited series The Stand, “The Vigil,” several critical things happen: Mother Abigail (Whoopi Goldberg), out on her spiritual quest in the wilderness to communicate with God, has an unexpected confrontation with Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgard) instead before she retreats, physically depleted, to the Boulder Free Zone.
Her return, however, coincides with Harold Lauder (Owen Teague) and Nadine Cross (Amber Heard) successfully pulling off their plan to stage a terrorist attack in the Free Zone, detonating a bomb in Abigail’s house that results in the death of Boulder leader and Abigail’s “voice,” the deaf, mute and partially blind Nick Andros (Henry Zaga).

Person of Interest, Season 3, Episode 10: “The Devil’s Share”
Written by Amanda Segel and Jonathan Nolan
Directed by Chris Fisher
Airs Tuesdays at 10pm Et on CBS
When a show with a cast as small as Person of Interest decides to kill off one of its main characters, the next episode can often give an indication of how the show will feel going forward. In the case of Person of Interest, it handles the change with aplomb and never falters in its ability to still tell compelling character stories. On the heels of Detective Carter’s (Taraji P. Henson) death, Reese (Jim Caziezel) and Shaw (Sarah Shahi) are, separately, trying to locate Officer Simmons (Robert John Burke) and Alonzo Quinn (Clarke Peters) in the search for vengeance.
A big fear with Carter gone is that a good deal of the spirit that the show had would now be gone as well,...

The Bridge, Season 1, Episode 7: “Destino”

There’s no shame in stealing from the greats. So when “Destino” begins to feel like a hyperkinetic Justified/Breaking Bad mashup for a few minutes during a trailer-park raid gone very wrong, it’s just the kick in the pants an hour this scattered needs. Not everything about “Destino” works, but its peaks are very encouraging.
Part of me – and, I suspect, many viewers – wants to skip ahead to The Bridge‘s second season (which has all but been confirmed as a sure thing at this point), after The Beast is definitively unmasked, to explore this world and its characters in a manner that might not be shackled to a too-familiar serial killer plotline. Thankfully, “Destino” makes clear that the series plans to leave room for lots of...

The Syfy series Warehouse 13 likes to play with death, so much so that cheating death has become a central theme of the show. But in a surprise twist before the long hiatus, Warehouse 13 changed the rules and finally delivered a death that was not reversible. Killing off fan-favorite Leena (Genelle Williams), fans were as devastated as the characters left standing on the show. In addition, discovering that Artie was responsible for her was even more shocking. Artie was the one man who we could never conceive of doing such a thing and the result was haunting. In a recent press conference call, executive producer Jack Kenny and stars Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly talked about the ripple-effects of Leena’s death, how she came to draw the short-stick, as well as previewing all the fun guest-stars upcoming over the next 10 episodes of Season 4.5.

Featuring: Samuel L. Jackson, Luke Wilson, Leslie Bibb, Peyton List, Tracie Thoms, Muse Watson
The opening scene of Meeting Evil promises something the rest of the film can’t quite deliver: a genuine sense of dread.
Protagonist John Felton (Luke Wilson) drives through a nearly vacant, dilapidated neighborhood that’s been gutted by the housing crisis. As the sun beats down on his face, he sees empty houses and people moving out. Eventually, we discover that John himself is a recently fired real estate agent; business has been terrible, and his own house is about to be foreclosed on.
Unsurprisingly, John’s lack of success is straining his marriage to Joanie (Leslie Bibb). When Joanie and their children’s attempts to cheer John up backfire and they get in a fight, she takes the kids out for a walk.

Summary:
Warehouse 13 follows a team of government agents who work at a massive, top-secret storage facility in windswept South Dakota which houses every strange artifact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and preternatural souvenir ever collected by the U.S. government. The Warehouse’s caretaker Artie Nielsen (Saul Rubinek) charges agents Pete Lattimer (Eddie McClintock), Myka Bering (Joanne Kelly) and Claudia Donovan (Allison Scagliotti) with chasing down reports of supernatural and paranormal activity in search of new objects to cache at the Warehouse, as well as helping him to control the Warehouse itself.

Meeting Evil Movie Review
Quick, if you like your Samuel L Jackson a little on the darker side, you better snag your chance to see him in Meeting Evil. With all the dollar signs attached to The Avengers, he might be too bankable to be cast as villains for awhile, and while Mr Jackson was tons of fun this summer playing Nick Fury, the man will always have a place in my heart playing the baddies. It’s not that the man doesn’t have range. Just look at his career. He can be anything from beat down father and family man (as in A Time To Kill) to nigh invulnerable bad ass (Snakes On A Plane and Shaft), but it’s when he gets to drip a little evil that I think he truly shines. Chris Fisher’s Meeting Evil is a prime example of that.

It used to be that when an actor stopped landing roles in theatrical releases and crossed over into direct-to-video territory, it meant that their career was in serious trouble. In recent years, however, a new middle ground has emerged, thanks to the rise of video-on-demand. More and more often we're seeing actors take chances on low budget independent and/or genre films that are still somewhat respectable, and their reputation does not necessarily have to suffer. Luke Wilson seems to be getting quite comfortable with this middle ground, and his latest film Meeting Evil falls into that category as well. Wilson plays a surburban family man in search of something more in his life. When he meets a mysterious stranger (Samuel L. Jackson), he soon finds himself being pulled into a "surreal, nightmarish murder spree" against his will. The movie is directed by Chris Fisher, who previously did the Dtv...

With well over 100 movies under his belt, Samuel L. Jackson is one of the most prolific actors working in Hollywood today. And, come May 4th, Jackson will add two more movies to his resume, with starring roles in both writer-director Joss Whedon's The Avengers and writer-director Chris Fisher's Meeting Evil. Jackson's role in The Avengers is pretty well established by this point, as he has already appeared as S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury in four Marvel Studios features — Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor and First Avenger: Captain America — but his character in Meeting Evil is more of a mystery (except to those who have read the book by Thomas Berger on which the movie is based, of course).
