Wind Breaker: Why Was It Bad for Choji Tomiyama to Become Shishitoren's Leader? - Main Image
As the tension rises in the one-on-one brawl between Shishitoren and Bofurin, the characters’ personal and psychological issues are brought to the surface. Most of this has something to do with Choji Tomiyama’s leadership in Shishitoren or Lion’s Head, which put the entire gang in a bad light.
In the upcoming episodes of the Wind Breaker anime, Choji Tomiyama will finally come face to face with Bofurin’s Hajime Umemiya, resulting in a clash of ideals, making it yet another non-typical shonen fight like the Togame Jo vs. Haruka Sakura confrontation.

In a big deal that closed in the days leading into this week’s Cannes market, Apple Original Films has landed worldwide rights to Tenzing, the new package we told you about last week starring Tom Hiddleston and Willem Dafoe.
The question we asked today was whether the U.S. buyers would come to play for the Cannes market projects and we have an answer already.
Oscar-winning producer See-Saw Films (The King’s Speech) is producing Tenzing, about the inspirational life of Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and his summit of Mount Everest in 1953 alongside fellow outsider New Zealander Edmund Hillary.
A search is underway to cast the lead role of Tenzing Norgay who will star alongside BAFTA-nominated Tom Hiddleston (Loki) as Sir Edmund Hillary and four-time Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe (Poor Things) as the English expedition leader, Colonel John Hunt.

“Tenzing,” a film about the true story of Sherpa Tenzing Norgay’s 1953 trek to the summit of Mount Everest alongside Edmund Hillary, has been snapped up by Apple Original Films.
Casting is underway for Tenzing while “Loki” star Tom Hiddleston is set to play New Zealand mountaineer Hillary.
Willem Dafoe (“Eternity’s Gate”) is expected to star as English expedition leader Colonel John Hunt.
Apple acquired the rights the project in what was described as a “competitive situation” as Cannes kicked off. It is one of the first major deals to come out of the market as it goes into Day 3.
“Tibetan born Tenzing Norgay, alongside New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary, both outsiders on a British Expedition, defied insurmountable odds to achieve what was once thought impossible, reaching the summit of the world’s tallest mountain, Mount Everest,” reads the logline. “After six previous attempts, Tenzing risked everything for one final venture.

When Disney announced that they were going to do Mufasa: The Lion King, audiences were particularly not excited about the idea of a prequel. While the 2019 Lion King adaptation was a big hit at the box office, fans of the original animated classic were not happy with the photorealistic approach of the animals and how it took them out of the emotionality of the story.
The photorealistic approach to 2019’s Lion King was not appreciated by fans
When Barry Jenkins came in to direct Mufasa: The Lion King, there were hopes that the project might be great as the director has won an Oscar for 2016’s Moonlight. However, with the release of the first teaser trailer, fans continued to feel the same ‘soulless’ vibe of the 2019 adaptation, despite Jenkins saying otherwise.

You have to admit, even the promise of it is fascinating: what does a photoreal-animated Lion King film look like when it comes from Barry Jenkins – the director of Moonlight, and If Beale Street Could Talk, and The Underground Railroad? We’re about to find out, because Jenkins is directing Mufasa: The Lion King, the follow-up to Jon Favreau’s 2019 The Lion King remake – ostensibly a prequel about the rise of Simba’s legendary dad, but also weaving in sequel threads following Simba and Nala’s burgeoning family. And it’s not that Jenkins is being parachuted in – he’s working with his regular cinematographer James Laxton, and editor Joi McMillon, bringing his impeccable craft to an entirely different type of filmmaking, with the biggest tools blockbusterdom can bring. Check out the trailer here:

Before Dorothy’s mother passed away, she had a favorite saying, as Aunt Em reminds her grieving niece in the opening scene of The Wiz: “The hard stuff is there to let you know just how good you got it.” And while that’s a curious mantra to undergird a production of a Broadway musical, there’s something to it in the latest revival.
The first musical by a Black composer to win Tony Awards for best musical and best score, this well-loved show turns 50 next year. If Schele Williams’s simplistic and sometimes bewildering staging doesn’t itself demonstrate how the show has held up across those decades, she wisely steers all attention toward the main event: the stunning vocal performances from her cast. And since the show’s underwhelming visuals feel like less of a distraction than an afterthought, it’s easy enough to put the “hard...

Group A contestants returned to the stage on “The Masked Singer” Wednesday, April 10 for “Transformers Night.” After singing their hearts out for panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora, the bottom two acts were eliminated. First to go was Lovebird, whose rendition of “All That You Are” by Goo Goo Dolls put him in last place. Next on the chopping block was Koala, a new wildcard who sang “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears. The cuddly creature was revealed to be NFL Hall of Fame player DeMarcus Ware.
“All my life I’ve always wore a mask, but I sacked quarterbacks doing that,” he told host Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “Right now I put on the Koala mask and no one knew who I was, so the true personality of me actually came out. It was one of the funnest experiences I’ve had.

Group C contestants took the stage on “The Masked Singer” Wednesday night for “TV Theme Night.” After singing their hearts out for panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora, Sir Lion and Lizard landed in the bottom two while Poodle Moth and Clock sailed into the next round. In the end, Sir Lion was forced to unmask revealing TV and radio personality Billy Bush. Watch his reveal above.
“If you can’t get em with the lips, get em with the hips,” the “Extra” anchor told host Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “I tried to distract a little bit. Don’t look too closely!” When asked what he’d like to say to his fans he responded, “If you’ve never done something that’s a little on the scary side — this is scary, I’m shakin’ back there — say yes! Do it! I had a ball.

“I’m not a great singer,” Bush said. “If you can’t make it with the lips, make it with the hips. If you’ve never done something that’s a little on the scary side — and this is scary — say yes!”
For Bush, none of the panelists got it right. Robin Thicke guessed Anderson Cooper. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg picked Seth Meyers. Ken Jeong picked Ryan Seacrest. New panelist Rita Ora said it was Andy Cohen.

Dev Patel’s directorial debut is getting closer… and here’s the trailer for Monkey Man, which is heading to cinemas shortly.
Now that Road House has released (although not in cinemas sadly), we can sate our thirst for bone-crunching action – for a little while at least. However, the next film on the horizon to offer artfully-filmed fisticuffs is Dev Patel’s Monkey Man, and judging by this new trailer, the film is taking no prisoners in its quest to be the most memorable action film of 2024.
Monkey Man is the Lion star’s directorial debut and you have to admire a kind of creative force like Patel: when he wasn’t landing these kind of roles in Hollywood, he simply went out and came up with a story (along with credited screenwriters with Paul Angunawela and John Collee) and then made the film himself. Disney can’t seem to catch a break as filmmaker Sarah Polley exits from the upcoming Disney remake – Bambi. Sarah Polley, who is known for her thought-stirring work like Women Talking, has recently decided to step away from the upcoming live-action remake for creative reasons.
Sarah Polley is not the only one to walk off the sets of Bambi; screenwriter Lindsey Anderson Beer also reportedly left the project last year. Disney’s trouble with live-action remakes is not a new issue; the last release, The Little Mermaid, faced backlash from fans, and the upcoming Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs remake generated negative reactions before release.

Disney has been trying desperately to bank on the success of existing projects, and the success of The Lion King and The Jungle Book has played a major role in greenlighting several live-action remakes.

After being labeled the “Biggest Losers” in a year they’d like to forget, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle began a fresh rebrand in 2024. It started with the Sussexes’ revamped website before a slew of appearances at the Invictus Games One Year To Go Event in Canada. The Duke of Sussex even did an interview with Good Morning America about the Games and his involvement, which has been included in a short documentary titled: Prince Harry’s Mission: Life, Family and Invictus Games.
Now, a psychic has predicted that there will be more success for Harry this year. But what about the duchess?
Here’s why the psychic says Meghan is going to “struggle” in 2024.

Cody Rhodes has one of the most intriguing WWE storylines, one that has had fans captivated ever since its debut. However, despite the twists and turns that plague the story, fans have found a very unusual connection between the story that Rhodes is playing out and the storyline of Dinsey’s most popular animated story.
Cody Rhodes
Fans have equated the beats of the storyline that Rhodes has been following with Lion King, the seminal Disney classic that adapted William Shakespeare’s Hamlet for its young audience. The plot beats and the characters have been mapped out by audiences in a fun instance of comparative storytelling, something that has taken X by storm in the wake of this realization.

Dune Movie Trivia: Hans Zimmer & Denis Villeneuve(Photo Credit –Instagram/Facebook)
Dune: Part Two is one of the biggest releases of this year. The good thing is fans of the franchise won’t have to wait longer to watch the movie in theatres. We are just a few days away from the release. The Denis Villeneuve directorial is a sequel to the 2012 film, based on Frank Herbert’s novel of the same name. The lead cast includes Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem.
What made the 2021 Dune such a spectacular movie is its storytelling, visuals, performances, direction, cinematography and music. The movie excelled in every department, but the music stayed with the audience. Hans Zimmer composed the music for the film, which struck a chord with everyone who watched the movie. Zimmer even won accolades for his incredible work.

I don’t know if Dark Horse is actually trying to adapt every last bit of short Neil Gaiman into comics form. He’s written a lot of stuff, and much of it wouldn’t adapt well. But it does feel like they’re trying, at least, with a long sequence of individual graphic novels and a few omnibuses stretching back more than a decade.
The grandly titled “Neil Gaiman Library” has mostly been stories that can turn into reasonable-length books. I’ve seen a bunch of them: A Study in Emerald ; Only the End of the World Again ; Chivalry ; Snow, Glass, Apples ; and Troll Bridge . But not all Gaiman stories can be fit into that length, no matter how hard Procrustes works.
So in 2019 we got The Problem of Susan and Other Stories , which includes adaptations of the title story, another short story, and two poems. Presumably, with this as a model,...

Summer is long gone and it’s time to look beyond the blockbuster. Our latest study of recent books about or related to the world of filmmaking is full of artistic titans––Sofia Coppola, Whit Stillman, Clint Eastwood, Christian Petzold, Kore-eda Hirokazu, Wes Anderson. This column also boasts a lengthy rundown of noteworthy novels, many of which will surely be brought to large and small screens in years to come.
Archive by Sofia Coppola (MacK)
In recent years this column has covered several books focused on the iconic, inimitable Sofia Coppola, including a hardcover career overview and interview collection. Archive is constructed from the personal collection of the writer-director of The Virgin Suicides and Marie Antoinette herself. And as one would expect from a filmmaker known for her sense of style, fashion, and design, the result is positively gorgeous. It is packed with photos, ephemera, collages, and text––nearly 500 pages’ worth.

As many predicted, the 80th annual Venice Film Festival bestowed its top prize, the Golden Lion, to Yorgos Lanthimos’ rapturously received “Poor Things.” The win furthers the film’s increasing Oscar buzz, powered by a performance from star Emma Stone that could bring her a second Oscar for Best Actress. The film will open in limited release from Searchlight on Dec. 8, then slowly roll out nationwide.
However, the leading actress prize went to Cailee Spaeny for her work in Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla,” an intimate look at Priscilla Presley’s early courtship with Elvis Presley. (The film opens in theaters on Nov. 3.) Peter Sarsgaard won leading actor honors for his turn as a dementia-afflicted widower in Michel Franco’s “Memory,” opposite Jessica Chastain.
Matteo Garrone’s immigrant drama “Me Captain” captured two major awards, including the best director prize and the Marcello Mastroianni Young Actor/Actress Award for breakout star Seydou Sarr.
