Director Sean McNamara‘s Reagan, the first full-length feature on the 40th U.S. president, is out with its first trailer.
A biopic starring Dennis Quaid and set against the backdrop of the Cold War, the film follows Reagan’s journey from his childhood in Dixon, Illinois, to Hollywood, and then on to the White House. It begins with an aging Petrovich (Jon Voight), now 90 years old, being visited by an up-and-coming Russian leader who wants to know how the Soviet Union was lost.
Petrovich, the spy who knows everything there is to know about Reagan, begins recounting the tale of his adversary: the man he mockingly nicknamed “The Crusader,” beginning in 1922, when 11-year-old Ronald Reagan faces his first life crisis.
Additional cast for Reagan includes Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy Reagan, Mena Suvari as Reagan’s first wife Jane Wyman, Lesley-Anne Down as Margaret Thatcher, David Henrie as teenage Reagan,...

Jonathan Majors will no longer be playing Dennis Rodman in the tentatively titled feature 48 Hours in Vegas. In addition, Lionsgate is no longer involved with the project, Deadline has confirmed, which has been released to its producers, Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Aditya Sood. If the project were to be shopped around again, we understand, it will be with another actor playing the power Chicago Bulls power forward.
The screenplay, written by Jordan VanDina, follows Rodman’s zany trip to Las Vegas in the midst of the 1998 NBA finals.
CNN first had the news.
Following the guilty verdict, Majors was also dropped by Marvel Studios; the actor had played the villainous Kang the Conqueror in Disney+ series Loki and in the movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The character was slated to appear in future MCU movies, including 2026’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Those 135,000 folks flying into San Diego from various countries to line up for hours to see their fave stars at Comic-Con might be greatly upset to learn that not all panels are live and in-person.
The crowds are real, but some panelists are being beamed in via satellite.
Deadline has learned that today’s panels for ABC’s The Rookie and Abbott Elementary will have moderators in-person but with their casts beamed in via satellite. The actors reportedly are unable to make it to Sdcc because their series are in production.

Mandy Moore walked the red carpet at the This Is Us series finale celebration on Sunday where she revealed there are scenes in the last episode that were shot years ago. The series finale titled “Us” will air on NBC on May 24.
“To be honest, a lot of what is in the finale for Milo [Ventimiglia] and I was filmed years ago,” Moore told Deadline on the red carpet. “So, I don’t even remember what it was. We had a couple of things we shot for this that I’m excited to see. But I read the script and I’m excited to see everyone else’s work. I think it’s really beautiful. In my own selfish way—maybe because my character passed on in the last episode—I felt like last week was the finale and this one feels more like an epilogue in a way. I think...

Bel-Air is Peacock’s one-hour drama series that re-imagines the beloved ’90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air through a modern, dramatic take on Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air.
Joining moderator Matt Grobar at Deadline’s Contenders Television at the Paramount Theatre to discuss the 10-episode drama series were series creator Morgan Cooper; co-showrunner Rasheed Newson; actor Jabari Banks, who plays Will; and actor Cassandra Freeman, who plays Aunt Viv.
Contenders TV — Deadline’s Complete Coverage
The series was not picked up in a typical fashion. Rather than an adaptation or reboot being tossed around in the offices of sunny Hollywood, Cooper made a viral trailer released on YouTube that caught the eyes of certain people, landing him a meeting with the star of the original sitcom: Will Smith.

The Hot Zone: Anthrax star Daniel Dae Kim said that filming the National Geographic drama during the pandemic “was one of the hardest on-location experiences I’ve ever had in my career.” However, he said that quarantine and closed restaurants helped him and co-star Tony Goldwyn tap into the paranoia and caution of the post-9/11 anthrax attacks in 2001.
“Being isolated really allowed me to parallel the character,” Kim, who stars as FBI agent Matthew Ryker, told Deadline’s Matt Grobar during Sunday’s Contenders panel.

The Hot Zone: Anthrax takes place in 2001, just weeks after 9/11, when the United States was rocked by another deadly act of terrorism. Letters containing anthrax were sent to unsuspecting victims in Florida, Washington, D.C., and New York. The anonymous assault claimed five lives and caused panic throughout the U.S. Despite interagency turf wars and many false leads,...
