“Game of Thrones" actress Sophie Turner, poses for the May 2024 issue of “Vogue” (UK) magazine, wearing Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton and Wales Bonner, photographed by Mikael Jansson:
"I don't really have a process," said Turner about her acting technique.
"I'm very much an in-the-moment actress. I suppose I just kind of wing it…
“…because I feel that as long as I know my character, I should be able to be spontaneous on set.
“I learn something new everyday about myself as an actor, my capabilities. How far I can stretch myself, throw out emotions I never knew I had…”

Stabler, Bell, and the rest of the Law & Order: Organized Crime crew might be wrapping up their final case soon.
Law & Order: Organized Crime's future is in doubt after NBC renewed the two other Law & Order shows and the One Chicago franchise without making a decision about this series.
They haven't canceled it outright, but this delay in renewal and last year's decision to order only half a season of Law & Order: Organized Crime are signs that NBC may be leaning toward cancellation, which would be a shame.
Law & Order: Organized Crime's ratings have never been as high as its sister shows. There are a few possible reasons for that.
The most obvious is that it airs at 10/9c, which may be too late for some viewers.
With three Law & Order shows airing back-to-back, viewers who are exhausted from the events of the first...

Stabler's family is falling apart, but at least he knocked someone else's corrupt father off his throne.
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 8 featured the powerful end of the Bonner saga alongside Bernie's move out of Stabler's home -- and an equally tragic secret she's been holding onto forever.
The dialogue and deep emotion made the hour feel more like the last act of a classic film than an episodic TV show. What a fantastic story!
Meredith Bonner's struggle with guilt and pain was fascinating. This character began as a corrupt police chief who had Stabler arrested to get him out of her way, but she didn't seem like the same person anymore.
Losing her brother and realizing what enabling her father had gotten her opened her eyes, and she became the heroine she should have been all along instead of part of the problem.
Meredith was a tragic figure.

Captain Cragen's appearance was a too-short blast from the past.
During the final minutes of Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 7, he told Bell about the corruption behind Stabler's suspension.
This is only the beginning of this story, but will Cragen have any more screen time as it progresses?
Cragen is retired, so it doesn't make sense for him to have a huge part, but he should have had something more, given all the hype around his appearance.
Still, he gave Bell some vital info about the Iab agent in charge of Stabler's reinstatement. The guy was biased from the get-go, but now we have a motive and a suggestion that Iab is as compromised as any organized crime family Elliot Stabler has ever taken down.
Why Captain Cragen Is So Important to This Story

Was this Law & Order: Organized Crime or a Stephen King miniseries?
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 6 featured the second part of a multi-episode story about a serial killer based in a small town where everyone knows each other.
It had all the ingredients for a horrific tale... and then Keith Carridine drove it home with his performance.
I'm a sucker for stories set in seemingly perfect small towns where horrific secrets are kept carefully under wraps, and doubly so when the people in power are desperate to keep their secrets buried.
That made this story a near-perfect hour of television for me. Sometimes, the story reminded me of Twin Peaks without the surreal weirdness, so double-win!
I was surprised that the formerly hostile Chief Bonner readily accepted Stabler's help searching for a serial killer -- until she succumbed to her father's pressure.

Uh oh. We have a serial killer on our hands.
Stabler's devastating discovery on Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 5 is only the beginning of a horrific case reminiscent of the real-life Gilgo Beach killer.
Maybe finding the killer will give him purpose, but he's at his lowest point right now. Where will he go from here?
It always sucks when a missing person is found dead. Before the gruesome discovery, there's always hope they're still somewhere in the world and can be rescued.
In Rita's case, the tragedy is compounded by the fact that Stabler rescued her from the Albanian mob, only for her to end up dead at the hands of a serial killer. Stabler had hoped against hope that she'd be found alive, and when he uncovered her grave, there were no words for his pain.
These scenes were perfect. Although it seemed like Rita was dead,...

Let’s Talk About Chu is Netflix’s latest addition to its plethora of Asian romantic shows that keep you from ditching the platform. I know you’ve thought about it. Somehow, the streaming giant manages to hold global appeal thanks to the unique little shows and films it brings to the platform. Let’s Talk About Chu could very loosely be called Taiwan’s Sex Education. However, I don’t actually think there’s anything similar between the shows except for a lead who educates their friends and families about intimacy and relationships (at least here she’s female and not a complete prick), but I can see why the comparisons have been made. Let’s Talk About Chu mainly revolves around Chu Ai, a sex-positive mini-adult who is navigating the ups and downs of adulting in this day and age. She spends her days as a wax technician and her evenings...

Thanks to Christopher Nolan, reports of the death of physical media are greatly exaggerated. One week after the Nov. 21 release of the “Oppenheimer” Blu-ray, Best Buy and Amazon reported that they were completely sold out of 4K Uhd copies of the exacting director’s latest film.
“It’s unheard of,” says Justin Laliberty, director of operations for Vinegar Syndrome, a film restoration and distribution company. “In the past decade, I can’t think of another title that caused that type of fervor.”
“Oppenheimer” sales perhaps were buoyed by Nolan’s recent public comments championing the value of “a version you can buy and own at home and put on a shelf so no evil streaming service can come steal it from you.” He joins filmmakers like Guillermo del Toro and Edgar Wright in a chorus of industry voices sounding an alarm to protect the format. But a battle is unfolding...

En garde. A connoisseur of the onscreen battle, Ridley Scott stepped away from production on his anticipated Gladiator 2 to usher in the latest depiction of a power-hungry, pitifully-in-love Napoleon Bonaparte on Thursday night.
Napoleon, following the meteoric rise and fall of the 19th century French emperor — produced by Apple and theatrically distributed by Sony — premiered in London’s Leicester Square with frontman Joaquin Phoenix leading the troops on a rain-soaked red, white and blue carpet.
“It was such a shame not to be able to have show business at its biggest and its best for all those months [during the recently concluded writers and actors strikes], so it feels really fantastic to be back,” Tom Rothman, chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures’ Motion Picture Group, told The Hollywood Reporter.
It wasn’t long before Rothman was hailing Phoenix’s performance: “You couldn’t do a legendary figure without a legendary actor.”

[This story contains spoilers for Charity Lawson’s “Men Tell All” special of The Bachelorette.]
Charity Lawson got plenty of closure with some of her most notable former suitors — including Brayden Bowers and Xavier Bonner — during her “Men Tell All” episode of The Bachelorette season 20.
The special that aired Monday on ABC showed Lawson sitting down with Bonner, whom she abruptly dismissed during the fantasy suites episode after he admitted to cheating on his most recent partner and didn’t seem ready for a serious commitment. The Bachelorette also chatted with Bowers, who earned her first-impression rose during the season premiere but later stirred up plenty of drama with the other men and Lawson herself.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Lawson discussed her main hope for Bonner, how she thinks Bowers will fare on Bachelor in Paradise, the differences in her relationships with standouts Joey Graziadei and Dotun Olubeko, and the “beautiful” finale that airs next week.

[This story contains spoilers for Monday’s episode of ABC’s The Bachelorette.]
Charity Lawson dealt with extreme highs and lows during the highly anticipated fantasy-suites episode of The Bachelorette.
Viewers saw Lawson, who leads the 20th season of the ABC dating series, experience dates in Fiji with remaining contestants Xavier Bonner, Joey Graziadei and Dotun Olubeko. Her time with Graziadei and Olubeko clearly went swimmingly, as Lawson separately — and stunningly — confessed to both men that she is not just falling in love with them but is actually in love with them. Plus, she was surprised by Aaron Bryant, who returned following his dismissal after the hometown dates to plead his case.
However, her time with Bonner was not nearly as successful. Lawson abruptly sent Bonner packing during dinner after a tense conversation that followed him admitting to having been unfaithful in his most recent relationship.
“That was a very, very hard conversation and an extremely harder conversation to watch back because,...

Perth, Dec 2 (Ians) Australia maintained the pressure over West Indies by extending their lead to 344 runs on the third day of the first Test at Perth Stadium, here on Friday.
Australia were 29/1 at stumps on Day 3 with David Warner (17), and Marnus Labuschagne (3) unbeaten at the crease after bowling out West Indies for 283 in their first innings, taking a 315-run lead.
Beginning the day, Tagenarine Chanderpaul got to his maiden fifty but his joy was short-lived as Josh Hazlewood dismissed him in the opening over.
The Aussie pacers continued to pose questions to Kraigg Brathwaite and Nkrumah Bonner but they survived and kept the scoreboard moving. Against pacers, Brathwaite took full advantage of the loose deliveries, while he charged down the track to Nathan Lyon to bring up his fifty.
However, the hosts made a stunning comeback in the second session by picking up three key crucial wickets. Brathwaite was clean...

Perth, Dec 2 (Ians) Cricket West Indies (Cwi) on Friday announced that they have brought in Shamarh Brooks as a concussion substitute from Nkrumah Bonner in the ongoing first Test against Australia at Perth Stadium.
Bonner had to leave the field on day three of the Test match after having copped a blow on the helmet off all-rounder Cameron Green’s vicious bounce. He was batting at 16 off 47 balls and was involved in a 28-run stand for the second wicket with skipper Kraigg Brathwaite.
“Hopefully he’s Ok. We’re getting word that he’s feeling dizzy. There was that nasty blow from Green, and that’s not a good sight,” Mark Howard said in commentary for broadcasters Fox Cricket.
Bonner was initially deemed okay to continue. But later on, he had to retire hurt and eventually, a concussion replacement had to be brought in the form of Brooks.

No one saw BookTok coming. The TikTok community dedicated to readers was an organic effort that seemed to explode overnight, creating trends and an entirely new way to promote books on digital platforms. Less than two years after its creation, BookTok has been credited for directly increasing print sales across the United States, leaving publishers desperate to utilize BookTok’s energy for new releases. But a wave of creators say a new feature between TikTok and conglomerate Penguin Random House doesn’t celebrate BookTok — it’s a first attempt to exploit it.
