"When the secret's are out, you often discover who your friends are..." Dark Sky Films has revealed the trailer for an indie slasher horror film titled Time's Up, made by filmmaker L.C. Holt. This premiered last year at the Popcorn Frights Film Festival and will be getting a release later in 2023. On New Year's Eve, a faculty party for teachers at an idyllic Maine high school, still reeling from the suicide death of a bullied student, goes horribly wrong when an unexpected guest arrives with an unusual request – participate in a scavenger hunt or die. The assailant is hell bent on revealing their darkest secrets. And when twelve o'clock arrives... heads will begin to roll. This stars Damian Maffei, Hannah Fierman, L.C. Holt, Jonathan Tiersten, Kamarra Cole, Madison Edmunds, Tyler Senatore, Kate Kiddo, and Chaney Morrow. This stoic "Father Time" masked killer looks funny, especially with the ominous voiceover from the trailer.

Lucas, thinking this is all a joke, hesitantly mingles with the other party guests when the inevitable happens.

Six friends start a business providing guided tours to the shooting locations of the world’s most famous horror films, until they discover the one spot where the terror is real.
The saddest thing about Jeff Seemann‘s Terror Trips is that it’s easy to tell it was entirely made from a place of love for the horror genre. There is so much heart, soul, passion, and care injected into the film to the point where it’s legitimately upsetting knowing what unfolds throughout the course of the movie.
Long story short, Terror Trips is one of the most boring and uneventful horror films of the year. It runs at an extremely brisk eighty-seven minutes including credits, and yet so much of the film focuses on this young group of friends...

Following on from the relative success of found-footage horror flick V/H/S earlier this year, comes the sequel – once more bringing together a collection of filmmakers to each to present their own horror vignette. Following an almost identical formula, V/H/S 2 is harmless, enjoyable fun – yet, much like first, it pushes no boundaries and lacks distinctly in ingenuity and innovation. Oh, and it’s not very scary either.

Directed by: Simon Barrett, Adam Wingard, Jason Eisener, Gregg Hale & Eduardo Sánchez, Gareth Evans & Timo Tjahjanto

Thoughts by Tsr: I love a good anthology, so it seems like this and its predecessor (last year’s V/H/S) should be right up my alley. For whatever reason, though, I couldn’t muster up enough excitement to actually sit down and watch the previous installment. I was already feeling more inclined to check this one out thanks to contributions from Hobo with a Shotgun‘s Jason Eisener and The Blair Witch Project‘s Eduardo Sánchez. As for the short trailer itself, I appreciate that it doesn’t give away too much (I’ll be less positive about this in a moment). Unless the biggest scare is some creature attacking a bloodied guy’s car,...

S-vhs will continue the fun from the first film, VHS. Premiering at Sundance '13, this sequel again brings several horrifying tales to the big screen. S-vhs will show at Sundance January 19th and the first trailer has been launched for the show. The short teaser mishmashes several short stories together. A child's birthday party is interrupted by some creature, another character drowns, while a man is attacked in his car by a dinosaur-like creature. The clip is short and chaotic. But, horror fans will find something here to entice them to the show, with a wide release for S-vhs sure to be announced soon. Premiere Date: January 19th (Theatrical). Writers: Simon Barrett, John Davies, Jason Eisener, Gareth Evans, Jamie Nash and Timo Tjahjanto. Cast: Adam Wingard, Lawrence Michael Levine, Kelsy Abbott, Hannah Hughes, L.C. Holt, Producers: Simon Barrett, Roxanne Benjamin, Gary Binkow, Kyle David Crosby, Brad Miska, Tom Owen, Adam Wingard,...
