Chicago Fire is about to close its doors on Season 12.
The season has been a bit disjointed due to having fewer episodes. Losing cast members didn’t help.
Kara Killmer ended her run as Paramedic Sylvie Brett, and Alberto Rosende finished his time as Firefighter Blake Gallo.
Gallo’s replacement also left. That role was Firefighter Jake Gibson, played by Rome Flynn for a few episodes.
Jack Damon (Michael Bradway) has replaced Gibson, while Lizzy Novak (Joselyn Hudon) has replaced Brett. Will they last? Stay tuned!
Unfortunately, another series regular ends their run on the season finale.

[This story includes spoilers from the opening two episodes of the new season of Doctor Who, “Space Babies” and “The Devil’s Chord.”]
Doctor Who, BBC’s long-running science-fiction show, is back with a new season, a new cast and, for many international territories, a new home on Disney+.
The first two episodes of the latest season have now dropped on the streamer, and on the BBC iPlayer in the U.K., and they see Ncuti Gatwa (Barbie, Sex Education) firmly solidifying his role as the Fifteenth Doctor with companion Ruby Sunday, played by newcomer Millie Gibson, after their 2023 Christmas Day debut with “The Church On Ruby Road.”
Gatwa recently wowed crowds with his punky red carpet style at the L.A. Doctor Who premiere, telling The Hollywood Reporter, “There’s a twist to this traditional, institutional show that’s stepping into the modern era.”
Earlier this week, THR ran the first part of this interview with the Doctor Who pair — which didn’t include any spoilers.

Since their beginnings in 1979, George Miller’s hyper-jacked Mad Max movies with Mel Gibson had not received a single Oscar nomination, not even for Tina Turner’s great signature song “We Don’t Need Another Hero” in 1985’s Beyond Thunderdome. But then, 30 years later, when finally the fourth and Gibson-less edition appeared, the snooty Academy got on board and gave the newly regenerated Mad Max: Fury Road 10 nominations including for Best Picture and Director. It won six of them, virtually sweeping the crafts categories.
Nine years later comes a prequel, Furosia: A Mad Max Saga, and Miller, now seemingly ageless at 79 (he was 34 when the first one came out) has perhaps given birth to the greatest Max yet, a wheels-up, rock-and-rolling epic that delivers the origin story of the title character Charlize Theron picked up in Fury Road when she was about 26.
That movie only covered about three days total.

One of the things that makes Doctor Who so popular with British audiences, and now just as popular in the US, is the way each generation has its own Doctor to look back on. Although the show has been popular in the UK for decades, it only arrived in America at the beginning of the 11th Doctor era, but has seen quite a few Doctors since then.
Of course, it's expected that every single person who steps into the Tardis and embarks on the intergalactic adventure of a lifetime will be inspired by someone who's already been the Doctor. Millie Gibson, for example, the Doctor's most recent companion, has scored some points with viewers by naming her in-universe role model.

Every show that hits a decade milestone needs to evaluate whether it still has great stories to tell, or whether it is continuing with renewals just to extract more profit from its loyal audience. Regardless of the outcome, if the show is struggling to keep its original stars in the franchise, it may be time to say goodbye.
Of course, you can't expect every actor to play a character forever. While some crave stability and love to grow with their characters, others need the variety of roles that acting offers. Chicago Fire season 12, however, is an example of the most radical cast changes that will likely lead to the show's demise.

Warning: contains spoilers for Doctor Who series 14 episode 1 “Space Babies”.
The new series of Doctor Who begins with The Doctor and Ruby encountering an abandoned spaceship that doubles as a daycare. The babies sit in computerized strollers while a computerized nanny takes care of them. The time travelers have to figure out why the babies were abandoned and who or what caused the human crew to flee or die.
Den Of Geek interviewed Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson to find out the behind-the-scenes tricks used to make the titular “Space Babies” come alive on screen.
Gatwa and Gibson describe “Space Babies” as the most technically challenging episode they filmed in series 14. “There were 12 real babies and then they’d get shipped off, and then we’d get these rubber jelly babies, that kind of looked like demon versions of the babies,” Gatwa says. The dolls apparently had an awkward plastic feel to them.

Although it may have fared enough to make up for any losses, Morbius is still unarguably one of the most critically panned movies of all time from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite holding hot talents like Michael Keaton, Tyrese Gibson, and Jared Leto, the film still underperformed among viewers because of things ranging from its storyline to the character arcs to not delivering perfectly.
Morbius (2022).
That being said, one of the major reasons why the film failed to serve its audience’s expectations was because it cut off some of those brutal scenes that could have garnered a lot of fan support. One of these included Gibson’s crazy fight scene as well, which was shown in the trailer but never made it to the final cut — something that inevitably left even the actor disappointed.

Norma Mitchell, the ex-wife of actor Tyrese Gibson, intensified her efforts to put an end to his online harassment by filing for a restraining order.
According to documents, Mitchell has urged the court to intervene and prevent Gibson from publicly addressing their disputes on social media platforms.
Mitchell alleges that The Fast & The Furious star’s defamatory remarks have had a profound emotional impact on her and seeks not only to halt the harassment but also to ensure that Gibson stays away from their daughter, Shayla, 16. In her filing, Mitchell highlights the repetitive nature of Gibson’s criticism on social media. Specifically, he cites five dates—April 30, May 1, May 2, May 6 and May 7—in which he allegedly made false and sensitive information available to their daughter, friends, family and the public.

Warning: this Doctor Who review contains spoilers.
In the parlance of the times, we are so back.
After the three triumphant Tennant/Tate specials, I’ll confess that “The Church on Ruby Road” left me feeling slightly apprehensive. While an effective showcase for Ncuti Gatwa’s charisma, as a forecast for the new era I found it to be overly frenetic, bordering on slapdash. Christmas specials are always going to be broader affairs, but this one frequently felt like a first draft held together with little more than the raw enthusiasm of all involved.
Happily, “Space Babies” is more solid in every respect. It’s well structured, economical and – crucially – very entertaining. And while I doubt it will be topping many all-time favourite lists, that’s fine, because that’s not really its job.

Disney and the BBC really don’t want any spoilers revealed for today’s debut of the latest season of Doctor Who. Fair enough, but I’m here to tell you that you will hear some of the worst music ever in these opening episodes of Ncuti Gatwa’s hopefully long run as the famed Time Lord.
Crossing timelines and absent granddaughters aside, that’s the point.
Since Rwandan-born Gatwa’s debut in December last year, his Doctor Who has already flipped a lot of scripts on what the Tardis travelling Doctor is and should be. Yes, the Fifteenth Doctor is the first Black and the first openly Queer incarnation of the Gallifreyan since the iconic British series debuted in 1963, as well as the first person not born in the UK to play the Time Lord Both those representations are long overdue and wonderful, but the real thing about this...

The Doctor Who press juggernaut materialized in New York last week, bringing with it leading stars Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson. The iconic, long-running BBC science-fiction show about a time-and-space traveling alien debuts its latest season on streamer Disney+ on Friday.
Gatwa, who grew up in Scotland after leaving Rwanda as a child, is already known for playing Eric Effiong in Sex Education (Netflix) and as one of the many Kens in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie (2023). Lesser known internationally is Gibson, who turns 20 in June. In the U.K., the actor made a name for herself in the television soap opera, Coronation Street (which is even longer-running than Doctor Who).
The Hollywood Reporter caught up with the pair to discuss the opening two episodes of their first season (which release at 7 p.m. on the streamer). There’s no spoilers below, but do come back Saturday for the second part of this interview,...

While filming episode one of “Doctor Who” season 14, entitled “Space Babies,” Millie Gibson had to do the impossible: keep the attention of 20 infants at once. Although she was bearing her soul in a speech integral to her character’s backstory, the babies kept dozing off and losing their attention to the flashing lights of the space-age set. So, to keep their little eyes focused on her, she delivered her lines while a nursery rhyme played on her phone just out of camera view.
“It was so hard honestly,” recalled Gibson. “It was the most bizarre thing but it will stay in my mind forever.”
The cast and crew of “Doctor Who” walked the red carpet on premiere night Wednesday at the NeueHouse in Hollywood ready to celebrate 60 years of the Doctor and discuss how they brought the new season’s debut episode to life.

The Venice Film Festival will fete Australian director and screenwriter Peter Weir with its honorary Golden Lion at its forthcoming 80th edition.
Accepting the honor, Weir said: “The Venice Film Festival and its Golden Lion are part of the folklore of our craft. To be singled out as a recipient for a lifetime’s work as a director is a considerable honor.”
Born in August 1944, Weir was one of the pivotal figures in the Australian New Wave cinema of the 70s. He began his career in 1969 when he took a job with the government-funded Commonwealth Film Unit as a director. Weir struck out on his own in 1973 and directed his first feature film, the comic-horror The Cars That Ate Paris (1974), which he also wrote. He won an international audience with Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975), followed by The Last Wave (1977), for which he also co-wrote the screenplay.

It’s my obligatory caveat that I am not a Doctor Who “fan,” per se. I’m much more Who-curious.
While I was traumatized by Tom Baker’s Doctor in childhood, I’ve happily sampled the introduction of each new Doctor since the Christopher Eccleston reboot in 2005. After two or three episodes, I tend to tune out, checking back in at key or particularly acclaimed installments. For those keeping score, David Tennant’s Doctor was the one I watched the most of in total, though I stuck with Matt Smith for the longest in the beginning (Karen Gillan’s Amy Pond was responsible for a lot of that). Peter Capaldi, probably the Doctor I was most excited for based on previous credits, did the least for me.
Draw your own conclusions.

A new chapter in Doctor Who canon history began with the first full episode of the Fifteenth Doctor’s adventures “The Church on Ruby Road.” Series 14 opener “Space Babies” takes the Doctor and Ruby’s travels to the distant future. The adventures that follow will also feature trips to the Swinging ’60s, to the Regency Era, and to faraway planets.
While there will be moments of dancing, sightseeing, and meeting new people and beings, there will also be moments of danger. Whether from villains upset that their plans for domination are being challenged, or from extremes in the environment, there are plenty of things to trigger the Doctor and Ruby Sunday’s fight-or-flight instinct.
Den of Geek interviewed Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson about their character traits, what the Doctor and companion Ruby are most afraid of this season, and the importance of opening the Tardis door to everyone.

No television franchise sees changes like Doctor Who, but high turnover can be overrated when you’ve built a world as rich as this one. Our first glimpse of Series 14 and the Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) came at the end of the Christmas specials in 2023. Gatwa came out the gate blazing and established himself as a fun-loving doctor, breaking the mold in terms of performance and style for the iconic character. Of course, Gatwa has already broken barriers as the first black and openly queer Doctor. On top of his groundbreaking aspects, the pure energy and charisma Gatwa’s brought to the role already makes it feel like we’ve hit the jackpot.

The new Doctor begins noticing strange accidents throughout London. As he investigates, he meets a young woman – Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson). Abandoned at a Church as a baby, Ruby wants to know about her birth parents.

Here we go again. In recent years, Mel Gibson’s found himself stuck in a never-ending series of Dtv-style action thrillers, similar to the kind of fare Bruce Willis churned out before his retirement. Along with his contemporaries like John Travolta, John Cusack and many others, Gibson seems totally stuck in a rut, with virtually all of these films (most of which he only has minor roles in) going totally unnoticed. Has anyone seen Panama, Agent Game, On the Line, Confidential Informant, Desperation Road, Dangerous or Force of Nature? There have been some bright spots, such as the solid Bandit (a movie he was proud of when I interviewed him) or Fatman, but for the most part, Gibson’s career as an actor in mainstream movies seems limited to this kind of fare, which is a shame.
Nevertheless, he’s still out there cranking out VOD movies, with Boneyard being the latest.

There's a case to be made that Chris Hemsworth is the most talented of the Marvel Studios Chrises. He's got great comedic energy and leaned into that with his later performances as Thor (even if he admittedly went overboard in "Thor: Love and Thunder"). His vengeance-driven God of Thunder is the highlight of "Infinity War" too.
He's also making interesting career choices. I'm a Captain America fan, but Chris Evans has not challenged himself as an actor since "Snowpiercer." ("Knives Out" was just him dusting off his pre-Cap screen persona of a cocky a-hole.) Chris Pratt has waltzed his way into being Hollywood's leading voice actor despite his anonymous performances in "The Super Mario Brothers" and soon, "The Garfield Movie." Hemsworth takes paycheck gigs (see: "Extraction" and his voice acting turn as young Optimus Prime in "Transformers: One" this coming Summer), but he shows ambition too. Chris Hemsworth is totally unrecognizable in his makeup and costumes in George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. The actor spent hours in the makeup chair each day, even donning a prosthetic nose and transforming himself into Dr. Dementus. The loud villain is far different from his Marvel character Thor, however, Hemsworth can’t seem to shake off one choice of attire for both roles. His Furiosa character also has to wear a cape, which he finds so impractical.

Series regular Tyrese Gibson says Fast & Furious 11 won’t start filming until early next year, calling its original April 2025 release date into question.
Following the shuddering, $340m ball of fire that was Fast X, it’s been said that the currently untitled sequel we’re calling Fast & Furious 11 will be the last in the franchise. Universal Pictures has previously had that sequel scheduled for release on the 4th April 2025 – a date that now has a huge question mark over it following comments by series regular Tyrese Gibson.
Talking to Cbr, Gibson indicated that Fast & Furious 11, listed on IMDb as Fast X: Part 2, won’t begin filming until January 2025 at the earliest – a knock-on effect, he said, of 2022’s strikes.
“Because of the strike, both strikes, there were some real delays in writing and kind of getting the film up on its feet,” Gibson said. “I’m hearing that we...

Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson have been shooting Doctor Who since 2022 – and they’ve been talking about launching their first full series.
The return of Doctor Who to our screens this coming May bring with it – amongst other things – the first full season for Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor and Millie Gibson’s Ruby. The pair came together in the 2023 Christmas special for the first time, The Church On Ruby Road, but we now get eight episodes of them travelling through time and space. Eight episodes that began shooting at the end of 2022.
At the UK premiere in London for the new series of Doctor Who, the pair were asked how they’re feeling about properly introducing their characters to the world.
“Crazy”, said Gibson. “Nerve-wracking”, added Gatwa. “It’ll be a lot of people’s first impressions of the show”, Millie Gibson added, “so I think that’s so honourable and wild.

Chicago Fire Season 12 has added a new firefighter who will appear in the final episodes this year.
The show took a long spring hiatus but finally returns on May 1 with new episodes and a new cast member.
Rome Flynn ended his run as firefighter Jake Gibson, with the character failing to finish the season.
Gibson entered the picture with a troubled past, including accidentally killing someone in the boxing ring. His demons caught up with him, and a drug problem caused Gibson to leave Firehouse 51.
That character was added as a replacement for Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), who left Chicago to spend time with his newly-found family.
Gallo had been a fan-favorite on Chicago Fire, so it was a difficult task to replace him. The next man up now enters the revolving door at this particular firehouse.

George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road spent so much time in development that its previous star, Mel Gibson, seemingly got too old for the action role. Gibson was replaced by Tom Hardy in the 2015 film, which went on to become one of the greatest action films of all time. Fans always wondered whether the Og Max Rockatansky would meet with the new one in any of the future installments. Miller confirmed that it wouldn’t happen and had a perfectly valid reason for it.

Mad Max: Fury Road was released in 2015 and the critically acclaimed film is yet to receive a sequel after nearly a decade. Miller has moved on to focus on the prequel film, Furiosa, where Anya Taylor-Joy will play the younger version of Charlize Theron’s Imperator Furiosa from the 2015 film.

For decades, the Mad Max franchise has brought the outer reaches of chaos and imagination within the audience’s reach. From the brain of George Miller was born an apocalyptic wasteland that can neither be defined as dysfunctional nor dystopian since Mad Max has always existed within a framework of structured madness.

With Imperators, War Boys, Crow Fishers, and Buzzards populating and running wild on the wasteland, the world of Mad Max is devoid of limits. As such, to continue to explore such a world would mean breaking down its mystical elements and essentially making it redundant. The best solution in such a scenario is to quit while one’s still ahead and keep the legacy of Mel Gibson, George Miller, Charlize Theron, and Tom Hardy intact.

Having spent years in development limbo as films were announced only to vanish back into the ether, we are finally getting a screen version of William Gibson's iconic cyberpunk tome Neuromancer via a series in the works at Apple TV+. And the show's creative team is plucking an Apple TV veteran to star, as Masters Of The Air's Callum Turner is aboard in the lead role.
Gibson's book, which was first published in 1984, went on to receive a Hugo Award, a Nebula Award, and the Philip K. Dick Award. The novel follows Henry Case (the role Turner is taking), a washed-up hacker hired for one last job by a shady ex-military officer, which brings him in contact with a powerful artificial intelligence.
Gibson crafted two follow-ups, Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive, which means there's material for future seasons if needed, or a potential anthology series. Graham Roland...

Forty years ago, author William Gibson brought the world a cyberpunk novel called Neuromancer – and an adaptation of that story has been trudging its way through development hell pretty much ever since. Versions of a feature film adaptation have passed through the hands of director like music video maker Chris Cunningham, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and The Blob‘s Chuck Russell, Torque‘s Joseph Kahn, Cube‘s Vincenzo Natali, and Deadpool‘s Tim Miller. While these projects were being put together (and while they fell apart), Neuromancer fans always wondered who would end up playing the lead character, Henry Dorsett Case. Hayden Christensen was rumored to be the top contender when Kahn was going to direct (with Liv Tyler rumored to co-star). Liam Neeson and Mark Wahlberg were said to be in the running for Natali’s version, although it wasn’t said who they might be playing.

Brian Cox probably didn’t even have to engage the whole power of his acting talent in his recently ended black comedy drama show Succession — his character’s boldness and straightforward manner of speaking the truth seem to be a part of the actor’s personality too.
While nobody would find a safe place to hide from Cox’s harsh criticism towards actors and films at HistFest a couple of weeks ago, it wasn’t only Joaquin Phoenix’s Napoleon that got all the heat, but also Mel Gibson’s biggest achievement in the industry.
A proud Scottish man, Brian Cox is definitely into historical accuracy — and he won’t tolerate it when this accuracy isn’t 100%. At the same HistFest the actor revealed that he’s definitely not a fan of Braveheart, Mel Gibson’s 1995 directorial and acting feature that took home five Academy awards, including for Best Picture.

The Valley star Kristen Doute is sharing a recent devastating loss that has crushed her. She is currently stirring up drama on the Vanderpump Rules spinoff. Yet, she also has a lot going on in her personal life and it can be a lot to take. So, what happened now? Keep reading for more details.
The Valley Kristen Doute Shares Devastating Loss

It was originally on the table back in 2020 but then Kristen and Stassi Schroeder were fired from Vpr. Plus, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright made their exit so it was no longer a possibility. Prior to leaving the show, their lives had been and were changing so it only made sense to spin them off. Ultimately, the time was right to bring Jax, Brittany, and Kristen back along...

From sharing repugnance towards Wbd’s handling of Turner Classic Movies to blasting Joaquin Phoenix’s portrayal of Napoleon, Brian Cox has never bothered filtering his opinions. Recently, while sharing his distaste for Ridley Scott’s Napoleon, the Succession star stressed that Phoenix was terrible in the role, claiming he’d done a better job as France’s first emperor.

In 2016, George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road made a big splash at the Oscars claiming six Academy Awards from the astonishing 10 nominations. Starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron, the 2015 movie is undoubtedly a post-apocalyptic masterpiece. But it was the fruition of the decades-long patience of Miller.

Mel Gibson’s breakout film Mad Max was released 45 years ago this week. The film launched the careers of Gibson and director George Miller and opened the global market to Australian New Wave films. The film resulted from a bunch of newcomers coming together to create an independent, dystopian-action film that cost only 400,000 Aud to make. However, the production of the film was extremely dangerous and the crew risked their lives to film several action scenes.

Varada Sethu is joining the Doctor Who team in 2025, and will star alongside Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson.
Back in January, it was reported that Andor star Varada Sethu had been cast as the new Doctor Who companion and that Millie Gibson, who plays Ncuti Gatwa’s current companion Ruby Sunday, would be leaving, but would also continue to make sporadic appearances in the series. Now, the BBC has issued a statement confirming not only that Sethu is the new companion, though it did not reveal details about her character, but also that Gibson is staying on in the Tardis. As such, Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor will have two companions.
Sethu said, “I feel like the luckiest person in the world. It is such an honour to be a part of the Whoniverse, and I’m so grateful to the whole Doctor...
