PromaxBDA on Wednesday announced it will present the newly named Ron Scalera Rocket Award at its annual conference this month.
The Ron Scalera Rocket Award is designed to recognize a producer or marketer with two years or less experience in promotion or marketing, who is already creating outstanding work.
It's named in memory of the longtime marketing and promotions executive for CBS, who died suddenly in April. Scalera was a member of PromaxBDA's board of directors as well.

CBS has promoted two marketing executives to replace the late Ron Scalera.
Garen van de Beek has been named executive vp and creative director, CBS Marketing Group, while Lori Shefa will succeed van de Beek as senior vp of on-air promotion.
In his new role, van de Beek will be responsible for all creative and production elements of the network's marketing, including on-air promotion, print, cable, online, digital, outdoor and radio. Shefa will lead the production of promotional campaigns designed to launch and support CBS programming.

NEW YORK -- CBS said Wednesday that it has upped Garen van de Beek to senior vp on-air promotion amid several other moves in the unit.
The on-air promotion unit also named Paul Friedman, Chris Cranner, Lori Shefa and Brad Roe as vps, and Sarah LaBranche as director of on-air promotion and Anne de Vega as executive producer. All the moves were announced Wednesday by Ron Scalera, executive vp and creative director of the CBS Marketing Group.
Van de Beek's new title comes after being vp on-air promotion since 2004 and creative director of on-air promotions for "CSI: Miami", "Without a Trace", "Numbers" and "Cold Case". He also handled CBS Radio promotions for all primetime programming. Additionally, he has been executive director of on-air promotion and creative services director at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.
Friedman created campaigns for "Survivor", "The Amazing Race" and "Kid Nation", among others, and he also was director of special projects and on-air comedy promotion.
Cranner launched "Everybody Loves Raymond", "The King of Queens", "Two and a Half Men", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Survivor".
Shefa had worked on campaigns for "Criminal Minds", "Big Brother", "Moonlight" and other shows and was vp advertising and promotion at UPN.

UPN announced that Jeff Morritt has joined the network as vp advertising and promotion. In his new position, Morritt will oversee the creative direction of all on-air promos, as well as radio, print and outdoor advertising campaigns. He will also run the day-to-day operation of the UPN on-air promo department, working with the creative directors and programming executives in the creation of launch campaigns and ongoing episodic promotions. Morritt will report to Ron Scalera, executive vp and creative director, CBS Marketing Group. He will work closely with Rachel Clark, UPN's senior vp marketing and media operations, who is in charge of placing the network's media buys. A 12-year veteran of advertising and promotion, Morritt most recently served as creative director at CBS.

Viacom co-president and co-chief operating officer Leslie Moonves has announced the creation of a group that will oversee all marketing activities for CBS and UPN and collaborate on marketing initiatives at other Viacom businesses under his leadership. Moonves, who also serves as CBS chairman, has named veteran CBS marketing executive George Schweitzer to head the new group as president and promoted Ron Scalera and Anne O'Grady to executive vp positions for the new business unit. "The CBS Marketing Group will maximize our promotional power across all our platforms and deliver the greatest punch from our company's extraordinary media assets," Moonves said.
