George R. R. Martin’s incredible vision and spectacular scale in Game of Thrones was one that was coveted by many but treasured by few. Those few were allowed to extend their arms in order to reach for their dreams after HBO offered them immortality through an opportunity to star in the series. But it was one among the select few who was born with the greatest luck of them all.
Game of Thrones – a still from Season 8 [Credit: Home Box Office Inc.]George R. R. Martin’s absolute authority was never meant to stretch this long with the original series. However, his mastery over such incredible story arcs and unimpeachable plotlines makes the audience feel the weight of patience.
It was this great mind that eventually birthed the character arc of Kingslayer Jamie Lannister and his greater-than-life fate that was scratched out with a single stroke of the author’s pen.

Sacha Baron Cohen must be feeling “very niiice” right now, as the UK release of Rebel Wilson’s memoir “Rebel Rising” will strike the actor’s name, removing any reference to the comedian. This comes after Wilson outed Cohen as the “asshole” co-star who she claimed made sexually charged comments towards her.
Sacha Baron Cohen has vehemently denied everything Rebel Wilson has said, as have a number of those that were on set of The Brothers Grimsby. But that hasn’t stopped the book from being published and publicized. Still, Sacha Baron Cohen has taken a victory, even if it won’t be as widely recognized as he may have hoped. As per a spokesman for the actor (via Deadline): “Harper Collins did not fact check this chapter in the book prior to publication and took the sensible but terribly belated step of deleting Rebel Wilson’s defamatory claims...

Rebel Wilson‘s memoir Rebel Rising will be printed in the United Kingdom with several passages relating to Sacha Baron Cohen redacted.
The 44-year-old Pitch Perfect actress referred to the 52-year-old actor as a “massive a-shole” within the pages of the book and alleged that he was threatening her about it before the book’s release earlier this month.
She reflected on working with Sacha on The Brothers Grimsby, and he denied the many allegations.
Rebel‘s publishing house Harper Collins explained the decision to remove certain segments of the memoir, and Sacha‘s team responded.

“We are publishing every page, but for legal reasons, in the U.K. edition, we are redacting most of one page with some other small redactions and an explanatory note,” Harper Collins explained in a statement shared with The Guardian. “Those sections are a very small part of a much bigger story.

Update: Wilson’s attorney Bryan Freedman has responded to this report, and it seems from here like while her UK publisher lost its nerve by redacting the chapter about Sacha Baron Cohen in Rebel Wilson’s memoir, the author feels her version is the truth. “Rebel and I want to thank all the woman who have shared their stories with us about their experiences with Sacha Baron Cohen. We are grateful for their strength and bravery.”
After finding himself an unwilling major selling point of Rebel Wilson’s memoir Rebel Rising, Sacha Baron Cohen is feeling a bit of vindication tonight. When the UK version of the book is published tomorrow, the chapter about him will be largely redacted, this after Baron Cohen’s attorneys threatened to sue Harper Collins over allegations his camp has maintained were provably false. She has been beating on Baron Cohen like he owed her money for the past month,...

The U.K. edition of Rebel Wilson’s new memoir Rebel Rising will be published with redacted passages about her past on-set experiences with Sacha Baron Cohen.
The Pitch Perfect actress previously shared that in chapter 23, titled “Sacha Baron Cohen and Other Assholes,” she recounts filming 2016’s The Brothers Grimsby with Baron Cohen. Earlier, she also claimed that the previously unnamed actor had hired “a crisis PR manager and lawyers” to “threaten” her over a chapter in her book.
While the complete chapter is still in the U.S. version of the memoir, which hit bookshelves April 2, publisher HarperCollins (U.K.) told The Hollywood Reporter in a new statement, “We are publishing every page, but for legal reasons, in the U.K. edition, we are redacting most of one page with some other small redactions and an explanatory note. Those sections are a very small part of a much bigger story.

Liz Tigelaar is readying her next Hulu series.
The showrunner of Little Fires Everywhere and Tiny Beautiful Things is developing a limited series based on Lucy Foley’s best-seller, The Guest List, which Hulu won the rights to in what proved another wild bidding war. The news comes as the broader IP market has only grown frothier amid the dual Hollywood strikes, which ground production to a halt and left the industry with little else to sell.
The TV iteration, like Foley’s 2020 book, will be set on a remote island off a rugged coast, where guests attend an elaborate celebrity wedding. “But with a storm brewing, the picture-perfect affair darkens as the guests and their shared histories dangerously collide — and then the lights go out. And a body is found,” reads the project’s official logline. “As old secrets are brought to the surface, and the mysteries swirl — the question remains,...

Agatha Christie is the latest bestselling novelist to get the rewriting treatment for 2023 readers, according to a British newspaper.
The bestselling novelist in the world, Christie created enduring popular sleuths Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, and the Daily Telegraph reports that new editions of both these series have had original passages amended or removed by publisher Harper Collins.
The Telegraph states that digital versions of new editions of the books written between 1920 and 1976 (the year of Christie’s death) include text stripped of “descriptions, insults or references to ethnicity, particularly for characters Christie’s protagonists encounter outside the UK.”
For example, in the book Death on the Nile – published in 1937 and recently remade for the big screen by Kenneth Branagh – references to “Nubian people” have been removed, as have several references to non-British characters’ physiques. The word “local” replaces “native”

Aside from the giant Fao-Schwarz piano in "Big" and the flamethrower guitar in "Mad Max: Fury Road," the ultimate movie instrument to play has to be the giant light board at the end of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." Forget being ushered aboard the mothership by cute aliens. A true musician would stay behind and put on a concert after everyone left. In actuality, the massive prop built for the movie was a real playable instrument. Michael Mann is having quite a week. In addition to beginning production on his star-studded film “Ferrari” this week in Italy, the director’s first novel, “Heat 2,” a sequel to his epic 1995 crime epic, is topping bestseller lists.
Written alongside veteran thriller writer Meg Gardiner, the book reprises the complex characters featured in the original film, namely the professional thief Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro) and LAPD detective Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino). Although the film ends with Hanna’s murder of McCauley at the end of his years-long investigation, the pair had created an inexplicable bond through their catch-and-kill dynamic that’s further explored in the book’s prequel scenes. One of the most revelatory plot points is the revelation that Hanna and McCauley unknowingly crossed paths in a previous major heist before they met each other.

There's something about the '60s that calls us back, again and again. It's the style, the music, the cultural upheaval, and the wide-open sense of freedom, like there were no consequences to the sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll lifestyle of the late '60s and early '70s. Then again, we know that eventually, there were consequences. Those days did end, sometimes tragically, sometimes quietly, fading into a cache of colorful souvenirs kept packed away in the attic.
That's where Claire, the heroine of Jane Green's "Sister Stardust" (out April 5), keeps the mementos from the dreamlike weeks she spent in Marrakesh at the side of '60s It girl Talitha Getty, her husband Paul - the heir of an oil tycoon - and the group of rock stars, models, and fashion designers that surrounded them. Claire, though, is perhaps the last person we'd expect to fall into that lifestyle.
