Friends and family gathered on Sunday to honor Alan Thicke, who died at age 69 on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack while playing hockey at a skating rink in Burbank, California.
A source tells Et that about 150 people attended the beautiful, heartfelt memorial service that took place at Thicke's ranch in Carpinteria, California, an oceanside city near Santa Barbara.
The source adds that the actor's son, singer Robin Thicke, and his two brothers welcomed guests, and were specific in wanting something upbeat and beautiful to celebrate their dad's life.
Robin hosted the service, the source says, telling stories about his father, and inviting guests up to share stories of their own about Alan, after starting the night off with a prayer.
Stars like Bob Saget, Bill Maher, Alex Trebek and the entire cast of Growing Pains, including Leonardo DiCaprio, spoke about how much Alan had meant to them. Kris Jenner sat next to Alan's widow, Tanya, for the...

Alan Thicke Honored in Memorial Attended by Full Growing Pains Cast, Bob Saget, Alex Trebek and More
Many Hollywood stars turned out to honor Alan Thicke Sunday night. The entire cast of Growing Pains, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Kirk Cameron; Bog Saget; Alex Trebek; Bill Maher and more attended a memorial in honor of the late actor, who passed away from a heart attack last week. A family member shared pictures on a public page and wrote a heartfelt note about the evening's emotional events. "Tonight's memorial for Alan was just about perfect. So much family and so many historic friends came out to remember our beloved father-figure," the post read. "Speaking for Alan so beautifully was (I'm realizing now) an all-star cast." The post continued,...

Back in 1989, few of us could have guessed just how intensely satisfying a crustacean-themed musical number in an animated film could be. When a red crab sang about the seaweed always being greener in somebody else's lake in "The Little Mermaid," audiences immediately fell for the rambunctious Sebastian character. Disney's animated films have long had a history of colourful sidekicks, be they in the form of crickets, a Tigger or a Tinker Bell fairy, but never before had they had such an infectious sea creature.
A quarter-century later, the success of "Little Mermaid" is still very much at the heart of the modern Disney studio. With music and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, the film was a smash hit, leading to such classics as "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin," helping revitalize not only the movie musical but the state of modern Broadway as well.

You may not recognise Declan Lowney but chances are he’s made you laugh. As the directing talent behind Father Ted, Little Britain, Moone Boy and Help he called the shots on a generation of TV comedy classics. Back in 2002 he collaborated with Steve Coogan on the neglected gem Cruise of the Gods, a TV movie about a sci-fi convention on a cruise ship. Now the pair have reunited for Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, the first cinematic adventure of Norwich’s second most famous son (after Tim Westwood, depending on the demographic). We spoke to Declan about directing Coogan, the pressures of bringing Partridge to the multiplexes, and why there’ll always be an Alan…
Congratulations on Alpha Papa, the funniest film of 2013. Are you pleased with the reaction it’s getting?
Yeah, it’s very exciting being involved. Everyone seems to like it so far. It’s such a relief!

Alan Partridge the movie, now entitled ‘Alpha Papa’, has a teaser trailer. And it is a teaser so don’t expect to see much costume, yet what we do see is magnificent. Casual red shirt, biscuit varsity jacket, brown leather belt and pale blue denim jeans; the jeans of which perhaps we see too much.
It cannot be overstated how vital costume design is to the character of Alan Partridge. We know Alan so well by what he wears, we recognise him in society. He is that guy in a salmon pink Gabacci polo shirt and maroon Greenwoods cords. It is a very specific style that may look thrown together but takes an age to compile. His v-neck sweaters, zipper jackets, rollnecks, cardigans, snug jeans, pastel shirts; patterns that clash and colours that bleed. However most important is his blazer, usually in jade green, mustard or plum, and emblazoned with breast pocket crest.

Teaser: Caroline and Gillian talk about life and cry. A lot. Strangely and sadly, only one of them is gay. Still.
Last time on Last Tango in Halifax, Caroline inched closer to a relationship with Kate, Gillian took in the beat up bloke she’s been sleeping with, and Celia and Alan got themselves trapped in a haunted, creaky old hall. We start up this time with Gillian and Caroline beginning to worry about their elderly parents not showing up for dinner. Or rather, Gillian starts to freak out and wonder if her dad has his heart medication on him and are they okay and what if they’re out in the rain?! And no one takes her seriously until the time really starts to slip away.
Celia and Alan, of course, are spending their time playing cards by candlelight, eating chocolates and talking in bed,...
