This week, the final season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series premiered on Disney+.
Unfortunately, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens didn't join their co-stars from the original movies to make a cameo on the spinoff.
But that doesn't mean we didn't get any indication about where Troy and Gabriella's relationship is in 2023.
Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, Bart Johnson, Alyson Reed, and Kaycee Stroh returned to play themselves.
The group also resurrected their High School Musical roles as Chad Danforth, Taylor McKessie, Ryan Evans, Coach Jack Bolton, Ms. Darbus, and Martha Cox, respectively.
The returning faces popped up at East High to shoot High School Musical 4.
There were hopes that Efron and Hudgens would make surprise appearances for at least one scene, but it didn't happen.
The closest we got to Troy and Gabriella was a sad update about their relationship, courtesy of Corben.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for the fourth and final season of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” now streaming on Disney+.
The Wildcats of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” have taken their final bow.
The Disney+ extension of the popular movie musical trilogy concluded this week with an eight-episode fourth season that found its cast performing a stage — or rather, basketball court — production of 2008’s “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.” Members of that film’s original cast returned to East High to shoot the fictional “High School Musical 4: The Reunion.”
Although the original films have had a presence since the pilot episode — the series is set at the high school where the films were shot — the final season is the show’s most meta endeavor yet.

"We're all in this together" isn't just the catchiest earworm to ever come out of a Disney Channel Original Movie, it's also a way of life. As was announced today, some of the original cast members of "High School Musical," the 2006 Disney Channel Original movie that spawned a franchise, will be appearing on the next season of "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series," which is an actual show and the reason pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo had a reason to write an album of heartbreak bangers. Og cast members Corbin Bleu, Kaycee Stroh, and Lucas Grabeel have all already appeared in previous seasons of "HSM:tm:ts," but the trio will be joined by Monique Coleman, Alyson Reed, and Bart Johnson.
According to Disney, the appearances are part of a major season 4 storyline, where Disney (the real company but in the HSM universe) has decided to make "High School Musical 4: The Reunion,...

The original Wildcats are heading back to East High. That's right, several original cast members from the High School Musical film franchise are joining the ranks of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series for season four, Disney+ announced Sept. 23. So, which Wildcats will be joining the fray? For starters, we see the return of Corbin Bleu, who appeared in season three as a more "jaded" version of himself. But he'll be joined by on-screen love (and real-life Bff) Monique Coleman in addition to Lucas Grabeel, Bart Johnson, Alyson Reed and Kaycee Stroh. It’s the crossover we’ve all been waiting for. It looks like the cast of the original “High School Musical” films and the cast of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” will be colliding in Season 4 of the Disney+ series.
After spending the summer at camp, the Wildcats are returning to school for Season 4, only to find out that they’ll be featured extras in the long-awaited “High School Musical 4: The Reunion,” which is currently filming at their school.
And speaking of the original films, the students of East High will be returning to their roots for their fourth musical. This year, they’ll be performing “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.”
This, of course, answers the question as to why so many “HSM” alum have been spotted at East High recently, including Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Kaycee Stroh. While Disney hasn’t exactly confirmed...

Ashley Tisdale stuns on the red carpet. Pic credit: ©ImageCollect.com/Izumi Hasegawa/Hollywood Newswire
High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale knows a thing or two about balance. The star posted a picture that showcased her sculpted abs and her love of pizza.
The actress wore black and white patterned pants with a matching top. She left the collared shirt unbuttoned, and the black tube top she wore underneath showed off her fit figure.
Ashley smiled as she bit into a slice of pizza.
She wore her brown hair in loose waves, and her minimal makeup showed her summer glow. Her tan only emphasized her toned midriff.
The second photo showed the star in a meditative pose with her legs crossed and palms facing up. Both images showed off the actress’s collection of minimalist tattoos.

The cast of "High School Musical" is reuniting for its five-year reunion. Monique Coleman organized her former castmates to come back together for an epic party to celebrate the Disney Channel classic, and she's doing it for a good cause.
As shown in the above announcement, one lucky "HSM" fan will win an opportunity to attend the reunion party as part of a contest that supports Coleman's foundation GimmeMo'. Attendees simply need to donate to the cause for a chance to win.
In attendance at the party will be Vanessa Hudgens, Ashely Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel, Kaycee Stroh, Olesya Rulin and director Kenny Ortega, as well as Coleman and "more." Noticably absent from that list is Zac Efron, who has a conflict but has a "special surprise planned for the winner" in place of actually being at the party.
The winner of the contest gets flights from anywhere worldwide to the "private homecoming bash.
