“Paradise City” is a semi-under-the-radar junk crime thriller, but when a movie like this one stars actors like John Travolta, Bruce Willis, and Stephen Dorff it can sometimes mean two things: that the stars are slumming, but that you’ll have fun watching them. The same movie made with grade-z actors wouldn’t have the same frisson. (It would be a pain to sit through.) Chuck Russell, the director of “Paradise City,” is actually a semi-a-list veteran whose credits include “The Mask,” “The Scorpion King,” “Eraser,” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors” (which some of us thought of as a rare ’80s slasher-movie standout). Who would have imagined that those credits, in the sage of Netflix, would now make Russell sound like some sort of low-grade genre renaissance man? In “Paradise City,” an underworld drama set on Maui, Russell knows that he’s making a grubby piece of product,...

"Are you dangerous?" "Not to my friends." Such bland dialogue. Saban Films has revealed an official trailer for a film titled Paradise City, an action crime thriller arriving in theaters this November. A new film from the director of such classics as A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, The Blob, The Mask, Eraser, and The Scorpion King - he's been laying low since that last one. Ryan Swan must carve his way through the Hawaiian crime world to wreak vengeance on the kingpin who murdered his father. After being threatened by a ruthless power broker, it appears Ryan and his team are all out of options — until an excursion to the closely guarded island community of Paradise City unites them with an unforeseen ally. The film stars John Travolta & Bruce Willis, along with Blake Jenner, Praya Lundberg, Lorenzo Antonucci, Amber Abara, and Stephen Dorff. This looks as derivative...

John Travolta and Bruce Willis reunite after their limited shared screen time in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. Both stars were prolific action icons in the 90s, and for some time now, both have had second careers with straight-to-video type movies with an occasional theatrical release. Their re-pairing comes in the new film Paradise City.
Scenic locations in Hawaii serve as the settings in Paradise City. So, there’s no doubt that the grass is green and the girls are pretty. People has reported on the release of the trailer, which proudly boasts that the film is “John Travolta vs. Bruce Willis.” Willis looks to be more of a presence in this more than his other recent credited films, although it looks as if a small ensemble will help him carry the load. He’s joined by Stephen Dorff, Blake Jenner, and Praya Lundberg.
The official synopsis reads,

True Detective star Stephen Dorff and The Edge of Seventeen‘s Blake Jenner have joined the Hawaiian production of Paradise City, which reps John Travolta and Bruce Willis’ first movie since 1994’s Pulp Fiction.
Willis plays renegade bounty hunter, Ryan Swan, who must carve his way through the Hawaiian crime world to wreak vengeance on the kingpin, played by Travolta, who murdered his father. I’m told the project is billed as being similar to Miami Vice but with bounty hunters instead of cops. Thai actress and model Praya Lundberg also stars.
Paradise City is produced by Corey Large, who also stars in the movie and co-wrote with Ed John Drake. BondIt Media Capital is financing with Large’s 308 Enterprises producing. Saban is handling domestic distribution with The Exchange overseeing foreign sales. EPs are Stephen Eads , Johnny Messner, Grady Craig, Matthew Helderman, and Luke Taylor. Brian O’Shea and Nat McCormick of The Exchange,...

Exclusive: We have learned that Bruce Willis and John Travolta are starring together again for the first time in 27 years in the Chuck Russell-directed action pic Paradise City. Production starts this Monday in Maui, Hawaii.
Thai actress and model Praya Lundberg has landed the lead female role.
Though Paradise City technically reps the fourth time that Willis and Travolta are billed on a movie together, they only worked onscreen in the 1994 Oscar-winning $214M-grossing Quentin Tarantino movie Pulp Fiction respectively as boxer Butch Coolidge and mob guy Vincent Vega. Check out their scene below from that pic. Prior to that...
